Will You Miss Galaxy City?

I will miss it... it's where I started off my first character, who is now my only level 50. (I'm slow, I know. I also rhyme. Sometimes.)
I'll miss it. It's where I started off most of my hero side toons back in the day.
Triumph is currently hosting a Farewell to Galaxy event. We're in the Emerald section of the Galaxy City Arena. Think it runs till about 8pm EST. Rumor is there might be titles and if we're lucky a GM or two.
Not organizing. But am attending.
Miss a starter zone that was all but empty by the time I started CoH and lacking half the basic services? Not in the slightest.
Wait, Galaxy City existed prior to Issue 21?

I realized that I would, actually. I might not have started many characters there, or spent much time in the zone in many moons, but knowing it will soon be gone (or reduced to a facsimile), I spent some time there last night, and it was a weird feeling. I started a new alt (and realized it might be my last chance to get the Isolater badge), and headed there. Running lowbie missions and street hunting, it was like having a premonition of doom. The citizens, even the bad guys had no clue what awaits them, but I did.
I will miss her, because she's awesome.
Is any other zone as accessible?
And it made me wonder... what might happen if some Shivan, or several, incorporated the bones of a certain signature Villain in their newly molten bodies?

Arc #40529 : The Furies of the Earth
The notion of Galaxy City as another starter area was a good one -- unfortunately, the starting experience was never really depp nor diverse enough to support two huge zones such as that. So, no, I won't really miss Galaxy City. I popped into it for cape missions and to occasionally park a hero in an Arena, but that was about all.

I know somone who was not going to miss Galxay City. Its Gregor Richardson.
People complain about Azuria loosing artifacts from M.A.G.I. But thats nothing compared
to Galaxy City's M.A.G.I. administartor. With less busisnees he gets a crazy idea to pass Ghost Widow's bone's through halfway functioning Circle of Thorn's portal and place them in the depleting power of a MU artifact just to see if he get some sort result.
This result is the loss of Galaxy City.
Mr. Richardson I hope you are proud of the results. I know of a few angry mobs who would like to have few words with you.

I just made an FF/Sonic Blast defender, took him through the old tutorial and funneled him into galaxy. Had a chat with Rachel Torres and smacked down some Vahz 'till he reached level 4. T
I parked him next to BAB as the sun set with Galaxy Girl's stature set above us. (Why yes, I have screenshots and even featuring "The Way We Were" [at least in my head])
RP wise, he has personal force field, I think he should at least be able to survive when the destruction begins.
I'm there right now.
And I have... plans for tomorrow.

I'd "sacrifice" any of the old hazard zones in order to get some decent content in there. (Except the Hollows, that's okay as it is.) I'd rather they keep the original feel and theme of the zone intact when they do that of course.
As for current city zones. Peregrine Island. The poster child for generic blandness and dated design, and the most dissapointing end game zone in any game I've played. (Yes, I know it's not "end game" anymore) Say what you will about Grandville, but at least it's visually imposing.

Seems appropriate that, on Pinnacle at least, the sun set on Galaxy just as we were getting that final maintenance warning, with a nighttime torchlight vigil....
I saw that message, but didn't really have the time or opportunity to get there. I'd just parked the character I was on, Kitten Crusade* on Justice on top of Galaxy Girl's head and zoomed out for a nice dramatic sendoff scene.
*For the curious, she's Mind/Rad and has the shoulder kitten costume piece; by her bio, the kitten is psychic and the actual heroine.

Managed to get a few screenshots as well. Took a movie accidentally as well, since I triggered Fraps recording without realizing it...whoops!
I liked Galaxy City a lot more than Atlas, and I will miss it.
No one pays attention to me, cause I listen to the voices in my head.
I don't think will miss GC, even though it was more of a RP hotspot than Atlas, thanks to lolAE there.
It ends with a big bang for them, can't get any better than that.
The only time I ever started in Atlas was due to an errant mouse click. EVERY other new toon started with Babs in Galaxy. Will I miss it? yeah in a nostalgic way I suppose. Everything changes so I will roll with it.
