Will You Miss Galaxy City?

Yes I will. Galaxy city was good option when starting new character. Never used that a lot but sometimes and it was good to know there's option if you get bored for Atlas park.

So this is what happens when Mender Silos fixes the time stream? As I recall in a oro mission, the Shivans landed in AP

Despite that it has been my preferred starting point for bluside alts since EU launch; I will not miss it because it's not gone. The new tutorial features a bizarre alternate Galaxy where the devs actually did revamp the low level content and gave Galaxy some shiney new buildings before smashing it to pieces with asteroids.

And then there's the Echo of Galaxy which is a poor carbon-copy of the original, should I want to hang out there again. It has most of the zone functionality even if the NPCs are strangely absent and the doors to the Arena and AE are locked.

Their GPS was borked!

Actually I'll probably miss the original training zones more than Galaxy because I'd often get the badge and it's a quick level but I'm not likely to shed too many tears because we're getting new content

No, now it's always been Galaxy that was destroyed by meteors. Just as it used to always be Atlas that was hit by meteors.

Time travel and the English language don't get along well.

No it hasn't. I played that mission on the beta. It's identical to how it's always been.

The only thing that's re-written is that now the Menders all mention Galaxy City in one fashion or another and Mender Silos specifically blames some force that's meddling with time for causing the meteor strike in Galaxy City.

"One of the major problems encountered in time travel is not that of accidentally becoming your own father or mother. There is no problem involved in becoming your own father or mother that a broad-minded and well-adjusted family can't cope with. There is no problem about changing the course of history - the course of history does not change because it all fits together like a jigsaw. All the important changes have happened before the things they were supposed to change and it all sorts itself out in the end.

"The major problem is quite simply one of grammar, and the main work to consult in this matter is Dr. Dan Streetmentioner's Time Traveler's Handbook of 1001 Tense Formations. It will tell you, for instance, how to describe something that was about to happen to you in the past before you avoided it by time-jumping forward two days in order to avoid it. The event will be described differently according to whether you are talking about it from the standpoint of your own natural time, from a time in the further future, or a time in the further past and is further complicated by the possibility of conducting conversations while you are actually traveling from one time to another with the intension of becoming your own mother or father.

Most readers get as far as the Future Semiconditionally Modified Subinverted Plagal Past Subjunctive Intentional before giving up; and in fact in later editions of the book all the pages beyond this point have been left blank to save on printing costs.

The Hitchhicker's Guide to the Galaxy skips lightly over this tangle of academic abstration, pausing only to note that the term "Future Perfect" has been abandoned since it was discovered not to be."

---- Douglas Adams, "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"

Gotta love the classics. I made sure to spend some time in Galaxy yesterday, as my own farewell to her. Here's hoping that a new lvl 50 trial / zone opens up in the now Shivan run Galaxy City, where we can try to take it back!

I find your lack of signature disturbing.

Well, in yet another instance of hand-waving to explain both MMO-time passage and the use of as little world-builder time as absolutely necessary when creating a mission instance, Galaxy City is already being "taken back" by the time you hit level 10-12. I swear that Paragon City construction companies use some sort of Rikti replicator technology for putting buildings back together.

Will I miss Galaxy City? No.

Will I miss having more room in our (since I'm used to running around it) little world? Yes, especially during holiday events - even how KR/GC had their halloween door's level requirements switched.

Good thing we have First Ward for more space to go to! Here's to sharks and getting blown up like a Toxic Balloon!

Thank you, City of Heroes, for giving me a superhero social network combined with amazingly smooth game play. Petitions signed with realistic expectations.
