I remember walking by The Stinking Rose after my boss, her husband and I had dinner in China Town on the way back to our hotel. San Francisco is a nice city to wander through at night, as long as you are in a group.

If we had walked past it on the way to dinner we probably would have eaten there. It's legendary if you love garlic.

A group of us players went there a few months ago...just fabulous. Skip the garlic ice cream though. Trust me.

Thanks a lot Von Krieger.

So is there a countdown (or rather up) of "very" for the head start? Will it launched right after it gets to "very very very very very very very very very very soon"?

Fixed.

Edit to add: Just noticed this while I was reading a (rather boring) article on Cracked. Check out the pic they use for #1. Google must like us

I really don't want to get TOO excited over this, it could still be a long way off and we don't know what, if any, changes will be made... but still, Grav/Dark here I come!

not really a slip-up: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...&postcount=213

Actually Synapse and I have been puzzling over the dark sets. Just for fun, I'll shed some light on the subject.

So, lets start this with a riddle, since the explanation is just as incomprehensible. Why does Dark Miasma overlapping Dark Control powers make a straight port of Dark Manipulation problematic?

The explanation is, there are a couple powersets that would be sharing an interesting combination of powers. For example, Controllers want Dark Control and Dark Miasma, except Dark Miasma is already a very control heavy set which would supply a lot of Dark Controls powers. Combining Dark/Dark this way could lead to a lot of overalap.

Dominators would want Dark Control and Dark Assault, so Dark Assault would have to be careful not to include control powers from Dark Blast or Dark melee.

Blasters are easier, however the powers that go to blasters would likely be included in Dark Assault, which goes opposite dark control.

Then there are the general AT wide no-no's. Such as: giving armor powers to non-armored classes, or overlapping powers alread in patron pools.

So in the end, it's not designing one powerset. It's designing 3 different powersets:

Dark Control/Dark Miasma for Controllers
Dark Control/Dark Assault for Dominators
Dark Blast/Dark Manipulation for Blasters

Well, that's enough "dark" for several posts. And no, nothing is in the works yet.
As soon as they announced Dark Blast / Dark Manip for blasters, that meant they had also solved the dark sets for Controllers and Dominators.

Oh I know, but the fact remains that we don't have any idea of how long it will be before the next proliferations happen, nor do we the players know what changes are going to be made to the set, if any.

If they half way gut Dark Miasma (say to use those powers for Dark Control) then I probably won't give a crap about it, unless it gets some good powers for replacements.

The whole reason I want Dark Miasma for Controllers is so that I can use it (particularly Fearsome Stare) to fill in for Gravity's lackluster control. If they were to remove FS from Dark Miasma (without replacing it with some sort of controllery effect) then that completely destroys it for me.

Thus I'm not going to let myself get too excited until we know the details.

Abraham Benrubi is rumored to be an avid player, as mentioned on his IMDB page: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0072344/bio

Loved him in ER and Memphis Beat. I checked him into my hotel once, and if it were not for my inability to break from treating all guests the same, would have been pestering him to come hang out. I didn't even know he played CoH till after he had checked out. :P

This job is great... Michael Rooker, John Cena, General Tommy Franks, Randy Travis... It is fun to meet celebs, but a bummer if you stick to my rule of "Everyone is important." It makes the celebrities fall back, but I assume they appreciate the feeling of annonymity.

MY FAREWELL GIFT

It is never truly gone, as long as there is someone left to remember.

You want a Grav/Dark (which does sound quite nice) I want an Ill/Dark.

And I don't see Dark Miasma getting gutted too much. Just look at Time Manipulation, bunches of slows and a hold and a half. Overall a very mez-tastic secondary for controllers.

Awesome transcripts as always, and many thanks for posting the Rogues Radio screenshot!

Also, thanks to Zwillinger and the team for the shout out, much appreciated! We'll have to see what we can do about getting one of you important red name people on the station for an interview, although you've got your work cut out topping the Avatea interview that we ran a few months ago

Is it really that bad or is it just unsual to pair garlic with ice cream in some fashion?

Couldn't be as bad as some of the Ice creams I've seen on Iron Chef/Iron Chef America... Crab Sorbet, and Trout (or was it Tuna) come to mind.

Something else not mentioned in the recap was that Positron mentioned is was writing a story arc, but not a signature one - so assuming that he wasn't talking about the AE, then that could mean that I22 has some new story arcs in it.

It's entirely possible.

There's a guy on Pinnacle that swears Duff McKagen from Guns and Roses and Velvet Revolver is in his VG.

MMOs seem like they'd be the perfect outlet for celebrities. They can interact with regular people without getting mobbed or otherwise annoyed because no one knows who they really are.

If you've played the game for any significant length of time and regularly PuG, chances are you've played with someone at least semi-famous.
