This reminds me of an attempt I made at redoing the low level Atlas MAGI missions where I did an alternate take on Azuria honestly being a good seer... Her problem was she was TOO good and like Mender Lazarus, she had little sense of cause and effect, namely the first mission involving sending you to a Hellions hideout where she believed the Hellions were keeping some artifacts that they stole in a MAGI vault heist... only the Vault hadn't been raided just yet and you ended up fighting them right when the Hellions got back through the door.

That's awesome, I love how you designed it based on his biography. Personally, I'd do away with the gloves, but still, a very nice job.

Not sure if I like the entire Azuria, but this is the first one I've seen with the scarf. I like that bit. If we could do more of a chiffon I think I'd be even more sold on a scarf for her!

They look to well built.

None of them are really heroes.

Prince Kiros's only ability is some enhanced senses. You have him looking like he's ready to go out and kick some butt.

The same with the Doc. Looks like he took some serum to buff up.

So far haven't been impressed by any of the Azuria remakes.

Now not saying I can do any better and not saying they couldn't go with some remodelling, but for some of these contacts, I think only the devs could do them justice, as the character creator is to focused on making well built characters.

Hmmm... good thought. But, he was only the designer of the armor. As such, he is more architect than out and out hero.

As far as characters looking too well built, it really depends on perspective and design preferences. To me, make a character thin enough and they start looking...sickly. It's something that bugged me about one or two of the Azuria designs here though I'm assuming that they were trying to "match" her original physical build. Plus, there's lots of little things that can be done with a physical build to make it less "super". Adjust the overall width, shrink the height, widen the waist, flatten the chest, etc.

I really like this. Plus, I'm the odd man out in that I actually like the gloves. It might be argued that a more subtle grey might be a better color but I like it as is.

How do you generate the costume codes, or whatever they are called, and how would one use them?

When you save a costume in the costume creator (or a powerset customization scheme), the file saved is a text file. That's where everyone is pulling theirs from.

You can cut and paste those posted in this thread into a new text file with a new name in the costumes folder of your CoH directory. When you go to load costumes from the CC, you will now see this new file as an option.

This is very useful when creating uniform looks for supergroups as well as creating twin/clone/duplicate concept characters.

People may be taking this 'unpowered' NPC thing too seriously or just not thinking things through enough. Go look at the City Rep closely. Now, think, where in your comic lore you might have seen her before(using all media as a source). The Devs who created her and others did very well with their paeans to comic lore. Mostly Unneeded Hint: At any given moment of need she could either start spinning very fast and become...and/or she could
_ _ _ _ out and become...? If you are still stuck in 'unpowered NPC' mode or lost with the references, go watch the movie Sky High. Go watch Sky High anyway, if for nothing else than it has Bruce Campbell in it(Hail to the King, Baby).
Azuria, NEVER, seemed like an unpowered NPC to me, even years before her powerful reveal in later Arcs and TFs. The info you can get about her from other NPCs throughout the game all mention her abilities.
Prince Kiros Nandelu, with merely hightened senses, seems to me like someone who would have a very close, perhaps even worshipful, relationship with cats, especially of the large darkly-furred predatory type, and a Prince will one day be a King of ... some nation or other...
Seriously, inability to romanticize in a super hero game comes across as mindbogglingly obtuse.

Can't speak for the rest of them, but I was grooving more on the "in civilian identity" thing that is a staple theme in many comics. They may or may not have superpowers, their civilian identity may or may not be secret, they may or may not be retired from street level crime fighting, but...

They are in an official role with a bureaucratic organization where it is more appropriate to be dressed in something other than their costume identity. At the very least, it is a neat exercise. It is one they fully employed when they revisioned and expanded Praetoria for all the various signature characters there, especially Cole with his two different costumes and identities. Nothing wrong with keeping with the same idea here for key character contacts.

If they want to stick with something close to the original and just higher res I came up with this which is pretty true to original.



I chose the face I did cause it kinda keeps that world-weary look the original has on her face. And while i'd never wear red shoes with that outfit... I picked the bridal heels cause they are kinda chunky like her original shoes.
