There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.

FB is blocked at work for me. I don't suppose anyone else is as generous as Coin?

I posted a probable reason up-thread. Basically, Rhode Island has a unique law regarding registration of sweepstakes offered in the state. Or rather, they have a law with a uniquely low threshold. In Rhode Island, New York and Florida you have to register sweepstakes with the state and pay a fee. But in NY and Florida the law only applies to sweepstakes where the total prize is more than $5,000. In Rhode Island its anything over $500. This sweepstakes is clearly designed to make its total prize payout exactly $5,000 to avoid the registration requirement in New York and Florida, but there was no way to realistically claim it fell under the $500 limit in Rhode Island.

Those of us that don't use Facebook are still left out. Any word on when you'll give us a chance to get/buy this emote?

Can you make a Facebook page for your character from home? Or the library?

I'm guessing it should be available with Issue 21 launch, at a price of $0.25 (20 Paragon Points).

I'd sure love to get one of those codes, but I'm not on Facebook. How about throwing stuff on Google+? I'm on there and follow WW, Posi, SM, and Zwill.

I think you're right, but I'd like to know for sure.

I was told just after the panel at Comic Con (a friend of mine texted me about it while I was there, so I asked Black Pebble) that this is just the first round of facepalm codes. They will do the promotion again at a later time, to the point that anybody who wants one has a reasonable shot at getting one.

There are no plans to add it to the store at this time.

I just picked mine up, now I'm heading ingame to see how it works.

Oh, and for those grousing about living in Rhode Island with regards to this promotion? Just be thankful you don't live in Canada with most US contests/sweepstakes. Because of our laws requiring a skill-testing question (usually a rediculously easy math question, that any 4th grader could do) we are routinely shut out of many online/magazine contests that originate in America. I'm just glad that I was able to get this promotion.

Unless that "reasonable shot" is some method that does not include Facebook, then there will never be a time every that wants one will get one.

You probably haven't noticed, but RI is left out of promotions even more often than you are up north. This one is a case in point. You can do it, but they can't. And when you can't enter, neither can they. They have some messed up laws in that state.

And this time they have managed to leave out people that are nominally able to get the code because they are doing it exclusively through Facebook. At least when they are excluding Canadians, Europeans, South Americans, etc., they are doing so because of legal reasons they have no control over.

Is there a reason people can't make a Facebook profile to get one?

I don't particularly like social networking, either, but if you want something and the only way to get it is to sign up for such a site (for free, mind you), then you either do it and get the prize or don't and have no leg to stand on in the argument. If you're not trying simply because you don't want to be on Facebook, then the only one you can blame is yourself.

Now, for the people who can't get the code to load (gave me some trouble on my girlfriend's account), you truly have my sympathies--it's a pain in the butt when it just doesn't work out of the box. In the end, I had to go to her Facebook settings, disable secure browsing and restart the browser to view the code.

(Once I got it for her, I went back and turned the secure browsing setting back on.)

Quite possibly.

Facebook's privacy practices and history are pretty bad, and they have a stated requirement (not exactly actively enforced, but I understand it's policy) that personal accounts are supposed to be in "your real name".

There are people out there who are, at the very least, strongly advised against creating ANY profile on ANY site using their real name. Some people have jobs where simply creating a facebook profile, even a completely empty one, using their legal name could get them fired.

And not everyone is willing to "agree" to terms and conditions that they are not in fact planning to follow.

I used to have a facebook account, but I deleted it (so far as I know) because I realized that I could not reconcile their "and then we add new features which are always turned on and broadcast personal information to the entire world until you hear about it and turn it off" strategy with my personal needs. I am not willing to create an account in my legal name, nor am I willing to create an account in some other name contrary to my understanding of their terms of service.

Since I have friends who would be in genuine, real, danger of personal harm if they created a facebook page and followed the stated policies, I am willing to say that there are people who "can't" create a facebook page, within some reasonable understanding of the term "can't". Much the way I "can't" park on a railroad track.

So on the whole I'd much prefer that there be a way to get this useful-sounding emote without creating a facebook page.

They'll probably sell the face palm emote in the store when Freedom launches. I'd bet on it.

I got rid of my Facebook account (well, it took me almost a year to find out how to actually delete it, that part of the site is well hidden) right after they changed their terms of service to say that they owned the copyright to any pictures I uploaded. I know there was an uproar over that and they changed it again, but they continue to make those kinds of changes to their policies, always as quietly as possible to avoid notice. I won't use a service with that kind of attitude toward their users. It is the same reason I no longer have a Twitpic account, and that I do as little business with Walmart as possible.

Yes I could create a fake account to use for stuff like this. But that would require lying to them and agreeing to things I know I am not actually agreeing with. That is a bit too cynical for me.

Yes it is my choice not to sign up for Facebook in order to try and get this emote. And if they never have it available any other way, it will be my choice to not get it at all. And there are other companies that have done the same kind of thing that I have missed out on. But I am also able to tell them I do not appreciate it when they do this stuff, and that it makes me a disappointed customer, so they can have that feedback the next time they do a promotion.

Alright, the people who were complaining that they specifically couldn't get a facepalm code didn't reply to my PMs, so I guess they weren't that interested after all.

Anybody else who wants one and is having trouble getting it, send me a PM. I have an extra, and it goes to the first person who asks for it.

*crosses fingers*

Please, oh please....

I have SO many "bad attitude" characters who could use this, not to mention a few elitist jerks who wish to express their displeasure at the stupidity of everyone else.

Yeah... I mostly play villains (although heroes aren't necessarily exempt from those personality parameters either...).

All right! I got it and it works (double-checked to be sure).

Thanks Chad!

Got one more, but I'm not sure if this one is used or not. If it works for you, it's yours:
