Pinnacle Server Lag - BAF Trial
Yep, noticed that this morning. Haven't tried other servers... but the reinforcement timer sure didn't seem affected.
Very true!
I knew something was seriously different when I used taunt for the firt time when both AVs were being attacked, the little swirly circle that circles the outside of the power icon was spinning and spinning for about 20 seconds and I found myself rooted for about 30 seconds....lol
Yeah, something is definitely not right here with todays patch.

Yeah, this is a problem. Is it only going on on Pinnacle?

We are seeing on triumph too. I gave up trying to do BAFs today because the lag was so bad I could not use any powers that were "ready" on my DM/Ngy Aura brute. Ughh.
just on a BAF on freedom it was slide show time and power tray ghosting of powers
Fluffy Bunny 1 Person SG
Rabid Bunny 1 Person VG
Both on Pinnacle
Hobbit's Hole 1 Person SG
Spider's Web 1 Person VG
Both on Freedom
Victory as well.
So, bets on emergency maintenance Wednesday, or will it be Thursday? Maybe a Friday surprise....
Between that and the mystery greying out of temp powers that should be usable, there were some issues introduced, i'd say.
Yeah Victory is mess up too. My Bane may as well have been standing there twirling his mace for all the good I was doing that run. Could barely move, could barely attack, if not for a pet heavy league we probably would have never made it out of the escape phase. Lambda is having some issues, the temp travel powers were blinking on and off. Was flying with my pack one second and falling the next.
Add Liberty to that list.
I joined my first post-patch BAF this evening, and the lag was unbearable. It was much worse than the worst I've seen in any of the several dozen prior BAF runs.
As was just observed, none of the timers were similarly affected. We had 9CU and MK6 groups piling up because powers were firing so slowly, the rate of clearing them wasn't remotely keeping up with the rate of reinforcement spawns. The prisoner phase was miserable, but we managed it.
Best of all, when we dropped Siege with about 4% left on Nightstar, a group of 24 couldn't fire enough powers in the ten-second timer to finish her off, so we had to keep their health much closer together than normal to finish. Strong & Pretty will be incredibly difficult until the lag issue is resolved, for that and the reinforcement timer.
Sequestration rings are affected, too. At least once I saw the first and second warnings appear simultaneously on a guy.

I've been running BAFs and Lambdas on multiple characters today both before (late night Monday/early Tuesday morning) and after the patch on Victory and Virtue.
BAF is now significantly rife with lag than prior to patch and Lambda has some lag issues as well that didn't seem to be as noticeable as before.
I'm hearing multiple comments in chat channels where players don't want to run the BAF because of the lag.

Virtue was unbearable a for the 3 I ran, hoping it was just a heavier than normal load. 5-10 seconds at least for power activations. Powers saying they are recharged when they aren't, being rooted for 5-10 or MORE seconds. Was bad during the AV solo rounds, got worse during the prisoner escape, then the dual AV fight was the worst!
Same on Freedom...the lag was pretty bad as is before the patch, and now it's more than three times as bad...seriously /facepalm.

Add protector as well - I even tried turning off buff data (enabling 'stop sending all buffs') which was supposed to be fixed so that you would stop getting buff info on all league members and that didn't help at all. I noticed it mostly on the BAF but the lambda was a bit laggy as well and I almost never had lag issues in there - the only difference was that lambda was playable, the BAF very nearly wasn't.

I have been dealing with this since I20's launch. Yesterday's patch actually made things a smidgen better for me in general, but the <1 FPS is killer along with the "rooting" and tray lag.
Funny... I had never seen the "Uncommon" drop rate issue. Until yesterday, when it was supposedly fixed. I got two uncommons in a row before I gave up from the lag.

Triumph last night also. First run in 4 attempts that I did not dc or play a statue but other people in league mentioned it.
When I logged on this evening, my SG leader invited me to join a BAF. It was a full BAF, three teams of eight each, including a few Masterminds. Just about everyone had Lore pets. My God, the lag was atrocious. It was worse than many Rikti mothership raids.
So, out of curiosity, I immediately formed up another BAF. Two teams, eight players each. That's one less team and eight less players than the BAF before. I told everyone not to summon nor use any pets whatsoever.
Guess what?
No lag. None whatsoever. This was with leaving the client open between the two BAFs, no rebooting, etc.
So, apparently, to have a lag free BAF, you now have to limit it to a maximum of 16 players (two teams), and no pets.
@Celestial Lord and @Celestial Lord Too
We tried a BAF last night and, as it was my 3rd of the day, I decided to time the lag. On average, with all powers recharged and ready to go, I was getting 10-second power lag between the first power firing the the second power firing, when the second power was clicked as soon as the first activated. The lag was as short as 2-seconds and as long as 15-seconds, depending on what part of the trial we were in.
To paraphrase Bill Murray: Something is seriously wrong with it!
I had noticed something similar Celestial Lord, but did not test it... Full league 0 masterminds, and it wasn't too bad. We didn't notice until after that the team make-up did not contain masterminds.

Here's something interesting that happened on an Infinity BAF run last night (well, some time betweeen midnight and 12:30 am this morning EDT):
We were in the "Fight Seige and Nightstar together" stage. We were fighting them at the add spawn point. Normal lag, powers executing 5 seconds after clicking them, standing around looking like statues, etc.
So Seige decides to jump over the wall into the water.
Not sure why, I think one of the other tanks had probably tried to fly away after his second Sequester warning, and probably got shot down by the GodLaser and fell into the water. I couldn't tell b/c I was on the other side of the building waiting for at least one of MY sequester rings to go away, came back in time to see Seige jump over the wall into the water.
So a few of us tanks taunted Seige back over the wall and back beside Nightstar so we could continue the fight.
But that's not the interesting part. Here's the interesting part:
The lag cleared up some time during that whole episode and did not come back even when we got Seige back to the add spawn point. Same number of players, presumeably same number of powers, presumeably same number of pets.

You can add Guardian to the list as well.
Lamda's run fine, but every BAF I've been on since the patch (at least 6 now), has been a sloooow crawl of pain.

Lag is about as bad now on liberty as it normally is on MSRs for any server. About 7 seconds of power lag and movement lag rooting you in place after you use a power. MSRs are even laggier since issue 20 launch as the new buffs and such have added to server / client load. But part of whats happening in the bafs appears to be a whole other problem.
Its like that lag you get on the city map on a the kahn taskforce where you go to destroy the troop portals. It happens only on that map for that tf as seen on the netgraph.
Friends don't let friends buy an ncsoft controlled project.
You'd think seven years in, they'd have figured out a way to at least cut down on the lag. I mean, come on, a 24 person BAF having lag equivalent, if not worse than, an old school Hamidon Raid with 150 people.
And Lambda isn't any better with those absolutely horrible Weapon and Lab maps. Playing on absolute minimum settings plus having the buffs turned off and still getting sub-10 FPS is simply not acceptable. It wouldn't be so bad if there was another way to get threads (other than wasting shards on conversions), components, or the Physical/Psychic XP. Netgraph was showing spikes of 10k received and hovering around 8k on a recent BAF.
Just tried to do a Lambda on Champion. Laggy and dc'd at end so I did not get anything for that.
I'm not sure about any other servers, but since todays patch, the BAF's lag has gotten unbearable. It had lag before todays patch, but after the patch it's gotten 3 times worse.
The Lambda seems to be running just fine with no issues. Has anyone has seen this from other servers?
