Why won't people respec their fitness powers?

Actually, I can't. Unless I start from a fresh boot, start up mids first before starting up CoH, Mids doesn't work well at all for me when running CoH. Much of the text is blacked out, all popups are black and many of it's windows that I try to open, such as respec helper, are also black. I've had this problem through several different vid cards and a couple different motherboards. Never could figure out why.

Actually Forbin that was a typo on my part. It should have read "without". I've corrected it now.

Anyone saying a char is sub-par without inherent is wrong. They can be just as good as those with.

NP, I'll edit my post since it doesn't apply now.

Yeah, I kind of thought of that, if you have just the one main, or one that you spend a lot of your time looking at, you may actually have their build memorized. But that would have broken up the flow of the rant.

Let's go with "if you claim you can remake your entire level 50 build from memory in a respec, you're either a liar or a really obsessive min/maxer".

Not that that comes anywhere close to removing all the tedium, but you hardly need to whip out a piece of paper or anything! Your other points also still stand.
Mid's, shorthand on a piece of paper, Notepad document, whichever. Somehow you have to make a note of your build, and then refer back to those notes while respeccing.

(Actually a piece of paper might be easier if you have a single-monitor setup, 'cause you can look at your notes and your build side-by-side. That's what I did for speccing my Empath into inherent Stamina.)

I also have trouble understanding people not respeccing to inherent Fitness and min-maxing their builds. This is because I *really* like to plan builds in Mids (I do this at work instead of working... ), respec and try to optimize my builds. I love the inherent Fitness because it allows me to take a whole bunch of powers earlier than before which makes my characters better at low level content. I have found loads of powers that are great with just one or a few slots.

All my builds are not optimized but that's because I tend to take some powers to fit a concept. All my builds are respecced to inherent fitness. I only have about 25 toons tho and only 5 lvl 50s.

I have absolutely no problem with people that aren't doing this. They're just very different from myself.

This. I want to play, not respec. I know the build is working, so why not stick with it?

Having said that, I have respeced about 150 toons already

This made me smile because of the contradiction of the statements.

You mentioned concepts so I ask you to consider this. Maybe inherent fitness doesn't fit into the concepts those players have for their characters.

Maybe they only wanted 1, 2, or 3 of the fitness powers.

Maybe they're happy with the current build and they look at the 4 fitness powers that were added as the extra one slotted powers that will round out their build and give them an extra oomph.

If my build works and you're just going to quibble about specific power choices, then take a hike.
I think there are some people out there who wanted something like Inherent Fitness so badly for so long that they have trouble processing the idea that not -everyone- cared about it as much as they did.

Since it happened I've respec'd a few of my characters to take advantage of it. But frankly if it had never happened I would not be sitting here now wishing for anything even remotely like it.

Here's what the cool kids do. We don't look at other players builds. We can beat anything with anyone or by ourselves. How other people play the game is no concern of ours.

I've never failed at anything and I've tried so hard. That's the real problem.

I have 270 toons acrosss two accounts. 28 lvl 50's, and a least 30 more in the 30's - 40's. You think I want to respec ALL of those; especially the higher lvl ones? Who in the heck has that sort of time and patience and inf? I know I don't.

Like someone has already said... I want to play. I don't want to waste all of my time respeccing toons much less planning the perfect build for each and every one of them.

21 level 50s. I've respecc'd many, but not all of them. Sorry it doesn't fit into your optimal timeframe, OP. And yes I will run an Apex with them if I want to and the team will do just fine. Why? because I'm sorry OP, the game ain't that hard and neither is the new content. Oh, yeah, and I like to think of myself as a pretty good player...that always helps. Those three powers without extra slotting doesn't amount to a whole lot on many builds. My namesake, for example, has your precious leadership and medicine already and deciding on what three powers I'm going to add and what other powers will suffer slotting can be daunting, esecially on a character that plays perfectly fine as-is.

So unless you have a criticism of the way someone is performing and not just how they look on paper, maybe stop with micromanaging other people's make-believe playtime happy hour.

Seriously, this thread ended after the 2nd post. The rest is just zombie pony whipping.

...and I know, some people dig that. Still.

If I had that many I would respec each and every one of them - that I meant to play - when I was about to play them. Because I like to do it.

More for their own protection, as I don't want them getting blindsided when I start arguing with someone.

(Though, 2 1/2 levels from finally getting that (*#&$(# Ill/Sonic done - then shelved - and 2 for a Nec/Poi...)

All these things would help the team, and some of them wouldn't even require spending more enh slots

The problem is, I have a *lot* more than just "pick up 3 more powers". There's redistributing slots, figuring out what slots I can do without and which I need. And some of us just came back from hiatuses (not a willing one on my part, my computer crapped the bed) and want to get back into the game and see how the old build stacks up to the new stuff before they plan the new build.
