Not as anemic as some of the depictions in the comics. In some of them, it looks no thicker than a piece of dental floss. For a WW depiction, it akshuly seems to be rather spot-on.

Comic depiction.

And just perhaps they should have picked an actress that looks like she could pick up a plate of food from time to time. I guess they are going anorexic goddess instead of the amazon goddess.

Also i can already see the endorsment deals..... Wonder Womans gold lasso brought to you by Monster Cables.

Technically it was M∙A∙C cosmetics that released the Wonder Women makeup. They got the license to do it from DC.

Because that looks more Xena then Wonder Woman?

As far as some of the other criticisms go I think some are more valid than others. For instance while I think the new lasso is a tad cheesy it's better than others we've seen:

Notice how the lasso in this Lynda Carter still doesn't look like much more than a golden shoestring.

I think the only thing that's seriously bothering me most about the new outfit is the blue boots. Like others have said they really need to be red.

Sadly it'll probably go like that. Even Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman only got one season on ABC before CBS gave it another chance with 2 more seasons.
Well it's an interesting blend of current and classic costumes, but there is room for some improvement. That costume screams the word "prototype" to me so hopefully we will see some changes, including the red boots.

Also it is possible that the network or certain broadcast standards rules nowadays may not allow the classic costume, can't say for sure as I'm not versed in the latest BS&P.

Honestly, I can see past the shiny and and the makeup (which is reflective of the comic) and I think it looks ok. If anyone here though WW would be running around in a corset and bikini bottoms, is not quite in touch with reality, even Linda Evens had problem with the outfit she wore in the 70's and those look like granny-panties compared to today. I do think they could have made the effort to make the boots red though. Over all, this show will live or die on the script and cinematography. It has to look amazing and be intriguing.

Funny, everyone seemed ok with this even today.

They could have at least picked someone with strong cheekbones. Her face looks like it hangs down from her temples.

Don't forget back then they actually ran full seasons so a new show actually had a chance to attract an audience. Unlike now where a new show only gets a quarter of a season then gets pulled for something else. Then the show returns after a 3 month hiatus and if they are lucky the same time slot and hopes to god that anyone remembers to tune back in to watch it again.

Look at what happened to SGU which didn't start getting good until after it was cancelled.

I think they can come up with a better costume than that one.

Oh and dear lord I hope they come up with something better than the spin transformation.

They'll probably just give her a pair of glasses to use as a disguise. I hear that works pretty well.

While I agree that a show should be left on the air in a specific time slot in order to attract an audience, it's actually not true that all shows in the past were given a full season. There are dozens of examples of series which were pulled after just a few episodes, some of them suffering the same schedule-skipping fate that befell Firefly.

Of course, the most famous counter-example of dumping a show immediately is Cheers, which placed dead last in its first season. Two things saved it: NBC had nothing else to air and the show had a champion at the network in Brandon Tartikoff. It took three years, but it eventually became a Top 5 show, finishing one season as the number one series of the year. If that show had been canceled, the TV and movie landscape would look very different today because all of the people associated with it went on to become quite influential in the entertainment industry.

Wow. What exactly do you consider anorexic? o.O She looks like she's fit, she doesn't look aneroxic at all.

Or does one have to look like they have to be over weight, with a beer gut, and some love handles for you to think they're not aneroxic?

Quick search...34-25-34. How much you want to bet in the comics she has a skinnier waist than that as well?

Now this I can agree with. Well, I don't know if her face looks like it hangs down from her temples per se, but then, could they find an actress who could do the roll who had the face, looks, and ability to act?

Well as Diana Prince, Lynda was known to wear glasses and have her hair style altered as part of her disguise......

Sh looks like Linda Carter, who herself looks Greek.

Wait she has to be able to act too? Aren't you just the perfectionist. Next you'll be wanting believable fight scenes and decent scripts.

Well according to imdb.com Adrianne Palicki is 5'11". I guess that means some people will consider her too skinny to be Wonder Woman at 34-25-34. Perhaps...

Then again I've never really understood this idea that all superheroes have to look like super-cut bodybuilder/wrestler types. In Wonder Woman's case she gets her strength from being associated with the magical power of the Greek gods. Why would her muscles have to be huge? Basically the idea that she MUST be a "beefy she-hulk" makes very little sense to me. This is why the "super-model" version of Wonder Woman has never completely seemed unreasonable to me. I liked Xena, I just don't think Wonder Woman has to be a clone of her. *shrugs*

Im not saying she needs to be some American Gladiator reject and muscle bound, but this actress looks more like a model with thin features and fake breasts, then a woman that grew up in a Amazon world were woman are warriors, hunters, etc. I guess comic book realativity or not, my thought would be that wonderwoman would be more Xena, then Swimsuit model.

As for the color of the costume, found this image that someone recolored, i kinda like it better....

All super heroes don't, but the ones that are supposed to be from warrior cultures should look the part. It doesn't have to be taken to the body builder/wrestler extreme, but they should look fit and capable of kicking butt.

Callisto (Hudson Leick) managed to look hardcore when she wanted as well as soft and pretty.
