So I took my undead toon out. She unlike most of my other toons is the least dressed, but I dressed her in what she drowned in.

I am not sure if it's males or females which are offended by her comstume, but I find it triavial when a woman appraoches me and says my costume is not appropriate when in her bio it says only:

I cant really say it on public forums, but I am assuming that ERP, and Sub do not have anything to do with Submarines.

I am a woman, and although I have played an awefull lot of MMO's where your armor is a bandaid and perhaps some thread, I just can't seem to fathom, while most of my toons are classicly comic book covered, that some Cat girl furry is going to tell me that my costume is not acceptable and that she is going to contact the devs.

Body type slim. No raise of the breast slider or booty slider. She is simply tattooed but because we dont get the tats that men get I had to be creative.

My question is simple. Can I get banned for using skimpy costume parts, that the devs put in place, if I am A) not simulating nudity at all, or B) Running around in something that the super bowl would be comfortable showing?

I was inspired by Lady Death when I made the costume based on the toons powers, and although most people like the costume, I keep getting tells about it. Threats about dev intervention.

Sure I dont have many risque looking toons, but seriously, this is a super hero game and I would have thought that those playing such games would realize that comics usually have sex appeal to their female toons. And for this toon I dont want her to run around in a that trench coat, hat, boredom, that people always seem to do to man up their female toon, because somewhere sometime ago it became really unacceptable that a woman would appreciate her physique and have to wear a paper bag to fight crime.

If I want to show some fleshy parts then thats fine. The difference is that Im killing stuff, not sitting in Pocket D in an animal costume flirting with lobster boy. I am actually playing...and not as a submarine.

A: Of course not.

One of my toons has a bathing suit as one of his costumes, for all those SG pool parties and whatnot.

Then we have our infamous pantsless TF's...

I have friends who routinely run their toons in nothing more than the skimpiest bikini costumes possible. Consider that if people actually have been "reporting" your costume, and you're still wearing it, then the GM's probably don't have a problem with it.

The only reason I can think of for a costume to get generic'd is if it is a blatant rip from a copyrighted character.

You don't have anything to worry about.

It would be different if you had been spouting offensive stuff in broadcast or local (or unsolicited tell) or your bio had a bunch of offensive stuff in it (I have petitioned several young Hitlers).

You have simply encountered a twit. The fact that you seeme to be getting multiple tells from multiple people means that the twit has enlisted his or her friends to join in your harassment (or is simply spamming you from multiple characters). If they continue to bug you after a polite rebuke, you can reasonably report them for harassment. After that, /gignore them (and their buddies), and you won't have to listen to their stupidity any more.

New story arcs coming soon (ARC IDs will be aded when I finish the arc):
So, you want to join the Hellions? (level 1-14 Villainous arc)

and

i agree with Impish Kat and Lightfoot.
Is this a recent thing that multiple people have had a problem with your costume?*
It's really amusing to me that someone who has "ERP" and "sub" in their bio would object to a skimpy costume. Maybe something about the half-naked corpse concept is tweaking parts of their kink-complex that they're not comfortable with.

*i would use the Player Notes feature to mark those who complain. The odds are fairly good it's one person or maybe a few of the same people complaining while logged in on different alts.

That's kinda what I thought as well.

Is there a chance that someone may misinterpret that your intent for your character was that her deceased state was a sexy thing? Because considering that she had ERP and sub in her bio, there may actually be a real reason why she felt offended. But it's hard for us to make a determination without seeing the costume and bio in question. I'm assuming this happened on Virtue?

There's no way they could penalize us for dressing our characters in anything they've given us to dress our characters in. The day they do that is the day I quite playing.

I might have misunderstood the original post. But if I'm reading it correctly, Zombie Drowned Girl is being harassed by ERP Sub Catgirl, who objects to the costume. If that is the case, I'm pretty sure it's safe to /ignore ES Catgirl, and agree that it would be at least a good idea to use Player Notes to tag them with one star and any appropriate details.

Agreed with /ignore idiot, and move on.

She sounds cool. Any chance of a screenshot?

I have a female zombie MM who shows a fair amount of skin (what's left of it, anyway), and judging by tells I've had, she's creeped some people out, too. No one has ever threatened to report her, though.

You answered your own question. The devs gave us those costume pieces, so obviously they're okay with us using them. The only thing you're not really allowed to do with costumes is rip off copyrighted material.

Oh, this sounds like a sporting event that I would really prefer NOT to see.

It doesn't seem like anything you need to worry about, some people just like to complain.

I created a villain once, athletic female form with the chest slider turned down to just under 1/4. Masks with hair and a full dark blue and purple costume.

While I was futzing with my UI getting it just right and setting up my vet stuff I get a tell ... "Real creative a**hole, another scantily dressed female".

I have to admit I was confused because except for a few bits of her face she was showing no skin whatsoever. Unfortunately the player notes system was not yet in place so I just politely asked what his problem was as she was fully covered and I may have made some passing reference to his acuity, both visual and mental

You gave her a cape, right? Maybe the player was just concerned about your technical accuracy. ;p

Seriously, what everyone else said. Don't worry about it. At worst if your name is too close -- maybe Lady Dead or something -- you might get generic'd but I'd doubt even that.

Mines very different. She sort of has the similar coloring, and while she does not sport a fantastic cape, she has a wicked pair of bone wings.

Her name is Grave-Dust

She was a student of Doctor Boccor and a voodoo priestess, and she would divine the future for the "Family" and when they found out that she and Boccor were going to double cross them she was thrown in the lake with new cement shoes on.

Because Praetoria and Primal Earth are so close when she banished her soul to the nether world it eventually found it's way to a corpse of a newly drowned praetorian woman already in the funeral parlour.

She uses the supernatural face with the closed eyes because in Voodoo legends the eyes must be closed to ensure that evil souls don't get in, and so she has to keep her eyes closed to ensure that her soul stays inside the body of this woman.

Lady death there is actually about the same style of dress. Only her boob slider is much higher.

A Touch grainy, and definately not Lady Death. I was inspired, but I would not take rip off a toon

I think you are totally ok. The name doesn't seem similar enough where anyone could generic you, and looking similar... only so many hot skimpy outfits are available for any female, in comics or in game. They're all just bikinis at their core.

Although now I want a cape with that neck piece. Hmm....

I see nothing wrong with that costume. Nice work.

There I was between a rock and a hard place. Then I thought, "What am I doing on this side of the rock?"

Agreed. Catgirl was crazy.

I like it. Thanks. Guess it was just an odd night. I was told to check the forums for a dev post about costumes and what is and what is not allowed. But if there is such a post, I certainly cannot find it.

Not allowed: Anything that rips of a trademarked character from an existing IP.

Allowed: Anything else that the costume creator lets you get away with.

Someone seriously needs their brain checking.
