Do you remember the first time?

I was 16 she was 21. I was in a room off of the Con Suite. I lied about my age and she...

Nevermind. Wrong first time...

My first was a BS/Inv scrapper, deleted at level 26, rerolled in a number of AT's powersets, finally gave up on her.

Bais Shadowtracker:
Once upon a time there was a simple nature girl named Bais. One day, when she was wandering through the forest, she came upon an old woman who gave her a magic apple. Bais fell asleep for twelve hours and woke up when a passing frog gave her a kiss. The frog introduced her to seven munchkins who could not find the yellow brick road to their Wicked Grandmother of the West's house because a Big Bad Wolf kept stealing their porridge, which is where they hid the map. So Bais borrowed a red cloak and helped retrieve the munchkin's map, but then they tried to sell her to a Prince. Fortunately, a sleepy woman, who was quite a beauty, helped her escape. Before Bais headed home, Beauty's friend, a fairy godmother, bestowed several amazing abilities upon Bais which she now uses to defeat the Circle of Thorns and other villians in Paragon City. And they all lived happily ever after. ~the end.

Seriously now, my first was an elec/elec blaster with maxed out hover.

His name was, and still is Hi-Voltage. Same costume. A respec still couldn't help him. he remains level 10 in alt limbo.

In beta I made an elec/elec blaster named Kobolt and even took him live on my original server Guardian (hes still there stuck at lvl 33 and actually rolled him on Virtue and Kobolt become my first lvl 50 on redside). But then some friends I worked with were playing on Infinity and I rolled my namesake Fire Chief a fire/nrg blaster and his original look was the big mohawk and man would I catch heat (no pun intended) from my buddies for the look, but he was a blast (again no...). Took him into Boomtown at I think lvl 11 and didnt come outta there till I was lvl 20 lol. But anywho my buddies left for that other game and I moved to Virtue and the rest is history .

Not being able to ride the blimp remains the single biggest disappointment I've ever had in the entire game.

My first ever toon: Generic Hero 134. Energy/Ice blaster. Took me ages to work out why people kept asking me what my name used to be... After nearly 5 years and who knows how many respecs, I've gotten him to lvl 38. No idea if I'll ever get him to 50 - the energy blast set has just never really grabbed me.

(First 50 and theoretical 'main' toon is my grav/rad troller, Six O'Clock.)

Posted

My first toon was an ice/ice blaster. I haven't rolled another blaster since. It's not that I dislike blasters it's just that my ice/ice is a beast. I still use him, in fact he's my badge toon.

Posted

My first toon was a Stone/Stone brute on a trial account. I uninstalled the game and continued on my tour of MMO trials.

Later I came back and made a SS/Invuln tank, which led to somebody suggesting I roll a controller. I for some reason rolled a Mind/Trick Arrow controller and before I got out of the tutorial I fell in love and was set on buying the full game.

Having one enemy trapped in a net as I bounced his friend like a basketball was freaking mind blowing.

Posted

My first was a BS/SR scrapper and back on day one they were just plain AWFUL.

My second was a Fire/Fire blaster and third a Fire/Fire tank.

Mind Controller and no. Deleted. Unfortunately, I never got the name back. Dr. Eidolon.

My first character was an Energy/Energy blaster named Doppler. I discoverd pretty quickly that I hated Energy Blast (still do, though oddly enough I have a Mind/Energy dominator that I like)

I had a few short lived characters since then, but it wasn't until I rolled Claws and Effect that I really stuck with one. Claws/Regen scrapper. He's been my main ever since, was my first 50 and my first Incarnate (though my BS/DA scrapper has gotten farther in the Incarnate tree)

My first toon was made on a friend's account, an AR/(something) blaster. I lost interest in the Hollows about level 12 I think, but at least I did learn the fine art of dodging through high-con enemies. :P

My first character was way back in the original beta a grav/kin troller.. when Dim shift was a phase ally power, wormhole was single target, brawl did more damage unslotted then slotted propel and fold space was the top power in the set.

Controller Grav is still played to this day. She was my first 50, my first incarnate, and my go to character when I don't know what else to play. I really miss my three sigs running around with me.

My tastes have changed a bit though. I've come to really enjoy defenders more then controllers as well as tankers/scrappers and brutes. I've tried making other controllers but they all get deleted after a while.

Posted

My first character was a Super Strength/Invulnerability Brute named War Tusk. I played him quite a bit those first few weeks, but then he got shelved for a while as I created and played more and more alts. Every few months I'd log onto him and gain a level or two and then move on.

Just last month he finally hit 50!

My first character was Adeon Hawkwood, an AR/Dev blaster. He is still one of my favorite characters to play (moar dakka!) and one of my three active incarnates.

My first ones were:

Ragdoll - AR/Dev blaster. She got rerolled a bunch of times into new things and I still have the name even though I've yet to settle on a concept.

Mother Superior
- Invul/Mace Tanker. I think Invul... Willpower? I thought one of those came later but she was made during Issue 0 with one of the "no effects" tank powersets. Hated how slow it was to hurt anything and she was the last/only tank I tried until I18 when I made a SD/WM. I reused her costume for a Katana/FA scrapper named Homily except that now we have pencil skirts so I don't have to rock the nun-in-a-minskirt look like a cut rate fetish video.

Prince Poland
- Broadsword/Regen scrapper. I don't think he ever went anywhere.

Polish Princess - Rad/Rad defender. She was the only of the first characters I made to last. I largely soloed her which was as much fun as it sounds. Was my first lvl 50 and is now largely retired on Victory. Had her on Virtue for a while but I couldn't get the name there and eventally decided I'd rather retire her on her home server with her "real" name than play her on Virtue under a new one.

My first was Jake Hot Paws a Fire/Fire Blaster. Deleted at about lvl30 but I'm now remaking him.

First to 50 Reefy Nurse Emp/Rad Defender still used when the call goes out "we want a Healer"

Crimson Quill, a TA/A defender who ended up becoming my first 50 as well.

And my first "whoa, cool" moment came when I looked down into Grendel's Gulch in the Hollows.

First character, created when the game launched, was my Katana/Regen scrapper. First character to 50 as well, and still, to this day, has the most playtime.

The second was an Ill/Kin troller, made as a diversion from the scrapper, along with an Ice/Emp troller made to play with the wife (she was playing MA/Regen) in a themed duo.

And then the altoholism hit...I'm sure you all know the rest of the story.

My first character (created on my wife's account experimentaly) was The Leshy, a spine + regen scrapper designed to look like a tall thin tree person. When deleted it and created my own account a few hours later my first "official" character was Robo-Santa (ice + storm controller), inspired by my Sims Online character. This was followed by The Larch, a shorter and wider (but still spine regen) copy of Leshy: He would have been called the Shrubbery, but that was already taken. Both Robo-Santa and Larch are still around (though Larch is taller) but stuck in the 20s since as my list of alts widened to about a dozen they were overtaken as mains by a dark dark defender named Repose, who in turn stalled in his 30s.

My first 50 and continued official main ended up being a martial arts + reflexes scrapper (Omnimouse) who appeared years in and once my alt list was in the multiples of dozens range. It took a while to find something I really enjoyed enough to bother going that far with...

But Larch and Robo-Santa still remember how things began, and will always hold a special place in the ranks of oddball entities I play occasionally.

Krazed Kaoz invuln/ss tanker my 1st 50. Recently returned to COH and rerolled as ss/will brute level 22 atm.

Pinkuredi was my first character.

An Energy Blast / Devices blaster. She made it to level 20 before falling victim to the delete button after altitis had taken over full force.

I've never remade her, and never played a blaster much again.

Two friends were both avid EQ players, and knowing my interest in comics, told me about a game in development called City of Heroes. When it became possible we all signed up for beta, and got in for the last days of the final wave. That's when I created Glass Goblin.*

I missed the Rikti Invasion due to a friend's wedding, but during the head start I recreated Glass Goblin as a rad/rad defender, at the suggestion of my more gung-ho friend. Unfortunately, a few days later he convinced me to re-roll him as an emp/psi defender, because "Everyone wants a healer on their team."

It still bugs me, that I can't say I've had the same character since beta.

It took me at least four years to get him to 50, largely because those same friends jumped ship to the hot new game with the cartoonish avatars as soon as it launched. Now he's 50 and languishing while I spend most of my time playing Mister Dramatico.**

*Only two people in seven years have commented on the literary reference in his name.
**He was created because someone was doing a costume contest in Atlas, and I noticed that every other entrant looked like an Image refugee, so I whipped up a quick Golden Age costume and character to enter. (And won, which paid for his early enhancements quite nicely.)

My very first character was an ice/storm controller. CoH had been out maybe 1-2 months. A number of my RL friends were playing. By the time I got the game installed and updated it was after midnight. So I was feeling pretty goofy. I made a controller without any idea what I was getting into (controllers and dominators should come with a warning label )

I used that silly metal witchbladesque costume and named it after my wife as a joke. Knowing I'd make another character later. (It was such a relief when I finally got to Icon and changed the costume.) In my effort to keep up with my friends that became my main since I didn't have time to level up an alt and still be able to play with them. (Did sidekicking even exist yet?)

It was a love/hate relationship that turned into my first 50 and received the bulk of my play time before I took a couple year sabbatical for another MMO. After my return other alts have taken my time but it's still my main badge hunting character.
