They aren't Praetorians. You are using your connection to the well



to draw forth the essence of vanquished foes to aid you. It sounds similiar to the AVs you see in Mender Ramial's first mission. I think those mobs were in a Time's Echos group. Other "Time's Echos" show up in the Minotaur mission. Time's Echos look a lot like Reflections in the Shadow Shard and I wonder if they are related in anyway. Those two groups might just be using the same aura.

So hopfully I get to vanquish non praetorian foes in the future and summon them to do stuff for me. I really hope my Lore pet doesn't have to use that aura the Reflection do.

Yeah they could also change their canon/'lore' idea so we can fully customize the look of our pet. No thanks to what they're shoving our way at this time.

I hope they delay the Lore slot and give us what we are asking for.

I have vanquished non-Praetorian foes in the past. I can vanquish non-Praetorian foes right now. I have vanquished many more non-Praetorian foes than Praetorian ones. I could build a mountain out of all the Rikti I have vanquished and leave it in the middle of Portal Corp as a warning to the next guy stupid enough to try to invade my dimension. So why can't I summon forth the essence of a vanquished Rikti?

If Tyrant is using the Well to empower his forces, and you get the essence of defeated enemies via the Well, then maybe you can only get the essences of enemies who were linked to the Well?

You are vanguishing foes that aren't connected to the well?

The Well is another reason I do not want a Praetorian pet. Gameplay improvements should never be so inextricably linked to a story element, because then when you don't like the story you can't ignore it without skipping the power. In this case, the power in question has a level shift that makes it less skippable than others.

Using a badly written story to justify constantly reminding people of another badly written story when they just want a gameplay improvement won't convince anyone of anything.

I'd be really pleased if the Battalion showed up in some upcoming issue. Part of me wonders if they were the guys who powered their ships with Kheldians.

Also, I thought Maelstrom and Desdemona should take part in this war.
They were the new characters from GR, promotors of new powersets ( not as effective sets as it should be, I must say) and they are only shown in a couple of tips missions where they are even easier to defeat than that running joke Flambeaux.
Give them some spotlight!
I want Maelstrom and Desdemona TFs. I want Belladona Betrano to show up as well.

It could have been fine if it were set up correctly. First step would have been not to stick everything in one building. But that ship has sailed.

So even with all of the power of the Well he can't seem to conquer Primal Earth or stop folks from there coming into his own dimension, but now he wants to try for EVERY dimension?

He might find having Primal Earth heroes arriving in Praetoria to help the Resistance as a useful thing for his propaganda - sort of like the Hamidon is also useful for his propaganda

Mentioning the Architect and the Lore pets in the same post makes me wonder something: Wouldn't it be cool if we got to use Architect customization for the Lore pets, to shape them as whatever we pick? That way, they could be vanquished foes, friendly support characters, random helpers or even "other heroes/villains," and it'd be up to us to decide.

I realise this would lose out on some of the more eccentric things that these could represent, such as non-player-usable models and skeletons. I... Suppose one could pick a pre-made pet OR a custom-made pet.

Of course, said pets would have to be limited to specific predefined powersets to preserve balance, as Architect power selection tends to produce vastly inconsistent character power levels. Still, having a pet that at least LOOKS like what I want it to, even if it fights like, say, a Seer, would be better than using a Seer directly.

Which doesn't explain why he's branching out to EVERY other dimension in existence.

We're no longer just talking about Primal Earth.

He after the ENTIRE multiverse, where they are MOST CERTAINLY dimensions with entities that can crush him like a bug if he breaths too hard.

You mean the thing Masterminds have been asking for since i13 and have been told (as recently as during the week during the EU testing with the devs) that there is still technical challenges too and which currently isn't viable?

Yes, that'd be great.

It's also probably a major reason why we're in this mess in the first place. Think about it, we, as a playerbase, were given tools to write almost any tale we cared to imagine, and what did we do? Farm mor monkees. Small wonder there's so little focus on story, when we've basically told the Devs we care less about such, and more about going to the same map for the same tasks over and over and over and over again 'til we're oober.

Yes, that'd be great.
Been advocating for this for months. Time seems right to FINALLY focus on getting through those technical challenges and implementing this oft requested feature BEFORE Lore goes live.

Feels like the devs and/or marketing are really selling the value of customization short currently. I know its one major reason I play this MMO and not others--perhaps THE major reason.

Well said. How could we wildly speculate for the next week or 2 if we knew everything? After all that's half the fun.

I am still waiting for further word on the revamp of the Power Pool system. And of course Incarnate slots. What they announce on this release will determine what people expect for next releases. If they open 1 slot we are looking at a lot of releases before they are all open. 2 and it will still take a while to release them all. Any more than that and I think we'd overpower any content they could add faster than they could produce it.

I would really like to see a reason to fight mobs with diff over 50. Currently once you hit 50 there is basically no reason to raise difficulty slider, that combined with death has almost no effect and play gets sloppier and sloppier. My last Silver Mantis on the last mission everyone ran in a different direction and fought solo (and died solo) until boss spawned. Not exactly challenging.

Make shards/purples drop at faster rate for higher level mobs or something.

Postscript: On Pets, I'd be happy if they made my MM pets stop getting stuck at zone in.
