What names were you suprised you got?

I was rather surprised last night, as a friend picked up the name Hexmage, and I got Blessed Agonies.

I managed to snag Dark Ring Mistress for a Dark/Psy Defender I made. I made the best Carnie costume I could manage with the costume pieces available (pretty much Jester Mask + witch leather), but managed to snag a Ring Mistress costume code in a contest, which completes the character.

I was also a little surprised when I got Qubit for my Bots/Dark MM that I made a couple weeks after CoV went live. I guess it's a relatively obscure computing concept, but I figured someone would have taken it.

I was shocked that I was able to get Irish-Fury on for my brute. Also grabbed Knight-Archer (powerset obvious) and Freedom Surge for my elec blaster.

I'm honestly a little surprised that I was able to get Burnt Matchstick on 10 servers (all but Freedom). It was taken on a couple others, but I eventually managed to snatch them up at some point.

I was suprised to get Ctrl Alt Delete, Bittersleet, and Scarlet Phantom on Union. Two of them weren't strong characters initially, but I don't want to delete them in case the name gets claimed.

I got Winner about a year ago. I checked and Loser was taken though.

I made a toon when the animal pack was announced.

John Bulll, on Protector, about a year ago, is one I'm very pleased with.

I've been rebooting my roster recently and adding some new characters, and for a new superdyne powered tanker I got Internet Troll, on Freedom*, but the real surprise was two days ago when I snagged Angel of Mercy, on Virtue (!) Absolutely couldn't believe that.

*his battle cry will be "U Mad, Bro?"

I was amazed when I actually managed to get Alias on Defiant.

Also Circusmaster for my MM, Sagittaria for my TA/A defender and Misdirection for my Illusion/Rad Controller!

I would have to say the two names that amazed me the most was getting Eternal Torch on Protector and Rock 'n Roll Outlaw, also on Protector. But I've always been somewhat lucky in the naming department. Had a toon named Paragon Steel on Protector for awhile but moved him to another server and now the name is taken. But I still hope.

I've 'only' been here for a bit under 2 years, and have a bad case of alt-itis, too. Usually, I can almost get that name I want, but it needs a tweak or five to pass the "Name Available" review, but this month - yes, February 2011 - I scored 2 that really surprised me. Both on Virtue --

In my short history in CoH I've picked up 'The Girl from Ipanema', 'Judge Dee' (for you chinese-detective-book fans) and 'Chef Death'.

So, two thumbs up, as far as I can see. There are still "Good Names" out there.

Was surprised to get CharlieFoxtrot on Virtue, just a minute ago.

While I haven't been making a ton of new characters lately, the last shocking name I grabbed was Incorruptible

There have been a few other good ones, but I pour most names I find into the bottomless pit of names known as the Virtue Name Watch.

I started about a year after the game launched, so a lot of the names I've picked up have surprised me, namely Planet Smasher and Grim Fandango.

I've also gotten and given up a number of great names: Avarice, Deja Voodoo, Nemean, Jade Empress, Heavenly.

Sadly, the names I really want will never be freed until a more aggressive name purge is done. Until then I'll just keep finding new stuff to share with Virtue.

I wasn't that shocked, but I'm pleased that the name
