Level Shift Mapserver Crash/Reward Rollback Issue

I slotted my Total Radial Revamp after an extrememly fun STF with no real lag problems on my Fire/Fire Tanker. Later in the day, I ran a tip mission with the boost slotted, and I did notice a little lag, but I assumed it was my system reacting badly to the heat (I'm Australian and play on a laptop, so hot weather happens in February and really cuts into my performance). No mapserving or crashing, though there was one point where the game froze up for a couple of seconds.

I did notice one other thing, though. When I used Burn, the first tick of the DoT wasn't being credited to me. The upfront damage was in orange, but the first DoT tick was always in grey. I thouhgt it was a little odd, but now I hear that level-shifted pets are causing problems for other people and I thought they might be related.

Also, spam everyone you know with this suggestion in case the fix takes more than ten minutes, because everyone wants to have their uberness now. :P
Sure. That's a great idea. Even if Support can give me back the rewards I should have had from last nights LRSF and can have my Rare Slot, I then need to NOT use my top two tier pets, making me effectively useless! Genius!

Provided you're a Robotics Mastermind, you should be able to use all of your henchman with a level shift provided that you do not use Upgrade on the Assault Bot or protector bots.

Edited to add: and with a hotfix being applied very shortly, this may no longer be an issue.

Out of my 4 Rares crafted so far, only my Illusion/Rad lost his rewards from the STF. Crafted after LR defeated, then slotted. We then attacked the flier again, right before its defeated, it wiped our team in a mapserve. 5 of the 8 on team lost their Rare, 3 kept them. I did have Phantasm out as well as PA.

I petitioned the loss of all STF rewards, hopefully I will hear back about getting the credit back.

A customer support representative restored most of my rewards a little less than 24 hours after my initial petition.

If you are in a public area, your level shift may not be the one causing the mapserver to crash. When the mapserver crashes, anyone in that zone gets the mapserver disconnect. All you can conclude from this is that your level shift probably works fine and someone else probably crashed those popular public zones.

If you are going to test something that can crash a zone, do it in a private instance.

My theory so far has seemed fairly solid (and is cast-iron for my own experience - I can run with all my level shifted bots so long as only Drones get the L32 upgrade and no other type)
I was that player, and I would conduct further testing if the servers weren't down. Hopefully, though, the issue's been resolved!

How about, "If you are going test something that can crash a zone, you'll have to do it on the test server, because zonecrash bugs should not make it to the live server thanks to the rigorous testing process."

Call me a radical if you must!

rollback isnt a hotfix.. its a rollback.. When they rollbacked in the past, they actually called it a rollback.

This afternoon I received my rewards from both a crash at the end of an RSF and from a zone crash during a mothership raid last night. Make sure you've petitioned individually for your losses. It won't help that your team lead has petitioned thinking it was for all of you.

Really? I heard from a very reliable source that the patch is so huge because of Honeycombs.

Totally slotting Honeycombs in my alpha slot.

Patch is a lot quicker to download on test, then copy & rename to CoH. Warning: unsupported and risky.

By logging to test I can confirm that the upper two alpha tiers are still in the game. Not immediately obvious what did actually change in the patch though.

I take it the server status on the website isn't to be trusted? It shows everything up but nothing shows in the game.

well hot fix seems to have fixed it but only time will tell, I did notice that i get more of a slide show in some of the STF missions, BUT this is a snowbound/ice day and the problem could be weather related

I think they managed it quite nice.

They must of tried to find a solution to the problem then when all their options failed and time was ticking, they decided to roll back.

Good job, from my perspective!

Why don't you whining guys try other games for a change and see how an issue takes weeks to be addressed, or, in the case of a micro-payment game, even months, IF it is ever solved, because money-demanding patches always have priority.

The release was not rolled back.. they actually did find a solution and patched it.
