I had a similar issue on my Windows 7 machine. Changing User Acess Control (UAC) to Never and rebooting my system allowed the install to finish. The reboot was needed as I got the same messages until I rebooted. I didn't need a reboot to switch the setting back.

And I thought this was going to be a pointer to the song by The Doubleclicks:

In Palatine's mission, "Enter the Forlorn Tunnels", I defeated Warden Gorzi and needed to speak with him to complete the mission. I got interrupted for a few seconds before clicking on him and he disappeared, so I had to wait for a GM to arrive to complete the mission.
I've never had that happen to me before in other missions (or in this one the few times I've done it before). -
Thanks for the info/suggestions. I had originally written auto, but thought I remembered it being called permanent in the docs for some reason (late hour, old age, . . .).
I play on a laptop more than half the time, which doesn't have a number pad, and using the number keys at the top is not a good option for me. My brain isn't wired to play differently on my laptop and desktop, so I only very infrequently use the number pad on my desktop.
Switching from Ctrl-Tab to some other combination for target next sounds like it would be my best option.
I don't know if this affects others as it does me. I may add it to the suggestions. -
I use Ctrl+Tab for targetting. Fairly frequently, I'll forget to let go (or let go too slowly) of my left control key before selecting a power from my tray with the left mouse button, which changes my current permanent power. I'd like to keep the ability on RCTRL+LBUTTON, but could live with it on another key.
I've tried:
/bind lctrl+lbutton "nop"
/bind ctrl+lbutton "nop"
Is there any way to prevent this behavior, or is this just a UI issue that I have no control over? It's caused unintentional pulls, etc., when targeting without meaning to attack. -
I got hit by the rollback, too. Had stuff from the weekend in it, but was missing two recipes I was swapping when I had to log off. Value is about equal, but . . .
I've submitted a petition. -
This afternoon I received my rewards from both a crash at the end of an RSF and from a zone crash during a mothership raid last night. Make sure you've petitioned individually for your losses. It won't help that your team lead has petitioned thinking it was for all of you.

I use dial up when I visit my in-laws. That means for about three weeks a year, including the 10 days that start tomorrow. I've almost given up on CoH while there though, except for market watch and day job shifts, because the dial-up experience is less than optimal (understatement).

If it's like Vista for me, I need to run CoH in Windowed mode for HeroStats to stay on top.

I think this may only have started with the latest patch, but with my El/El Tank, I've started to see (very infrequently) a message like "Chain Induction Jump 2 defeated by Inhibitor". Are CI jumps pets that can be hit? Should we be getting that message?

It's fixing my files now and restored my level to 4T2 -- we'll see if that works.
| It worked. I'm back on now. -
One more "same here" post -- I got the new patch about an hour ago (9:30 ET) and can't log in.

I had good results on my Lvl 50 Ice/Kin Corrupter using a Lvl 50 Boulder while on rest. The Boulder would hit for 600+ points every 9 seconds or so, almost exactly what I'd heal before the next blow. The only thing I had to do special was to make sure to get stuck in a crevice or his knockback would put me out of aggro range after a while.
