"wrong game version, run patcher and reconnect"?

So i am suffering from a bout of insomnia and i decided to log onto COH to play with the power colors at ICON. I click on my COH icon on my desktop and it starts running a new game download. I figure "ok they probobly fixed something". After a bit the game stops downloading, the next button appears and COH loads up as normal. I log on, click on virtue and- whammo- i get this error message stating "wrong game version, run patcher and reconnect, server 1600.20090902.4T2, client 20090902.5T2" WTH does that mean. I just ran the patcher and COH updated. I close out start it over again and verify all files. All files verified and the same message appears when I click on virtue. WTH is going on here?

I was just in the game with no issues (was logged in when I saw the post...quit, restarted updater, logged in fine), my patcher number is 1600.20090902.4T2 though...methinks somehow you got a broken something or other going on. @_@

Same thing here, I'm one patch ahead and can't conect to the server, and have no idea of how to "unpatch" it.

After rebooting my game three times with the wrong patch, it started downloading the City of heroes.exe again fixed back to the 4T2...

Yup that seems to be the case. I logged in just fine on my wife's computer

Well it's not working for me now and it still says version 5T2 like the original poster stated. Tried restarting it about a dozen times now.

EDIT: Helps if I'm looking at the right directory... sigh... it's working now. Way too early for this stuff. LOL

I'm having the same issue with my game client being 5T2 and the server being 4T2. Does anyone have a fix for this yet?

Ya same here i hope they will fix it soon grrr hehe how much time it take when they see players talking about major bug in forum???

Looks like a premature client patch - hopefully they'll upgrade the servers soon.

Got the same problem

One more "same here" post -- I got the new patch about an hour ago (9:30 ET) and can't log in.

It seems something negative happened last night.

At about 3AM Mountain time, I logged in to check something and my Global Friends list was empty, my channels were all gone, Tells were buggy and my global was changed from @Zyxith to @ZyxithOG.

I quit and waited 30 minutes, figured it was one of those short lived bugs. I log back on and my Global was again @Zyxith but everything was gone, Globals, Channels, where you access Server Friends and such was an empty window and a friend @Nezz I sent a tell to kept coming to me as @oNezz"

So I go to bed and hope it gets fixed and then now I can't log on due to:

Wrong game version, run patcher and reconnect, server 1600.20090902.4T2, client 1600.20090902.5T2

I am sure the people will fix it and I can go without the game until it's fixed, I mean it's not that big a deal and with new Issue content I can understand sometimes it'll bug out, but still. I wanted to let people know of what happened to me last night. Seems something happened then.

Edit: Oh, forgot to add, yes I too at about 8:30AM Mountain time ran the game and it downloaded and installed a patch to which I can't log in now.

It's fixing my files now and restored my level to 4T2 -- we'll see if that works.

I just got the patch download and now i can't conncet to the game because of wrong game version....i hope the dev's get this fixed soon.

Game hates me got the same wrong version, knew i shouldnt of logged out.

And add yet another peep to the post wrong game version.
