Of course Spines is probably the best set for dealing with that sort of running, Slows as secondary effects and Quills taunting them back.
Really, burn will scare stuff away on a scrapper? That sucks.

Supposedly it's not an Afraid / Avoid aura but it happens just as frequently as it used to back in i5/6 with my Fire Tanker (except they don't change their minds 2 seconds later and run back at you thanks to your Taunt Aura).

It's meant to be morale breaking but I'm not exactly convinced, it *looks* like a standard Afraid/Avoid reaction to me.

The only good thing is that since the damage is frontloaded now it matters less. I wouldn't be farming with it though.

Posted in another thread, but it's a bit more germane here.

I just finished getting a SS/Fire/Mu to L 47 or 48.

Not interested in getting into the Elec/Fire vs. SS/Fire contest. I think, at best, we're talking about wiping mobs out in 8 seconds, rather than 9 seconds (or whatever, I didn't actually time it). I use Rage and have more than Foot Stomp firing off every few seconds. It doesn't have near the End issues I thought it would.

In the end, I appreciate the discussion. I never would have tried the SS/Fire/Mu because I was fixated on Defense.

In addition, it is a ton of fun. Power up, roll in, foot stomp, unload other AoEs and mop up the bosses with a couple punches.

Thanks, folks. Your advice is appreciated, even if it wasn't directed at me.

Also, I think someone posted a pesudo-cheap build earlier (other thread). I used that as a guide and it worked well.

This.

I tried to do some comparisons of my spines/fire vs. my ss/fire and it was utterly pointless, the brute wins by miles simply due to scrapper afraid/notaunt thing.

Out of curiosity, how much inf/xp/tickets per hour do these builds earn?

I can manage a hair over 500k inf/min in AE with my Plant/Storm controller, but I don't know how that stacks up vs. the builds discussed here.

Last i remember my SS/fire/mu was getting about 775k inf/min in SG mode and reachs 600-700 tix/min (farming more for this rather than inf/min), before load times. But going to go test this out right now.

Edit: 599.34 tix/min and 758,281.39 inf/min (in SG mode)

Wow -- 750k inf/min in SG mode? So twice that out of SG mode? That's a lot of *freem*.

Thanks for the info!

I haven't tried my Spines/Fire in a while, but I know with my SS/Fire I usually get around 2 mil inf/min in AE, give or take.

Does "Fraps" work? I think I have heard of other people using it to record video.

Oh wait I see someone already mentioned that..nvm.

Anyway, i got a video using camstudio (**** them) but it has REALLY REALLY REALLY crappy quality and for some god awful reason the colors got ****** up. I guess i suck at this kind of stuff >.<

I did not back down on anything and I don't need you to repost my comments either. I know what I said and I know how I ment it so no problem. I just want to encourage someone with a mega ss/fire build to post some video. No need for you to try and continue the smack talk.

I use FRAPS (paid version; free stops after 30s), it works well. Another option, if it works for you, is to use the WeGame client. It records, encodes and uploads to WeGame.com.

I am not even sure why you would be.

So you actually meant you were all talk and no action right from the start? My bad then.

For reference, here's my SS/Fire/Mu on Black Scorpion's shard mission. The video was recorded before I18 so you're seeing old Fury and old Burn at work, but I reran it post-I18 and there was a negligible difference. That build was capable of pulling in about 1.3-1.5 million inf/min when running solo ambush farms, but as I haven't really kept up with the game since I18 I'm not sure what it could do with today's options.

Just curious on what is a good inf/min to gain on a farm? Once on a team a person said 500-800k but i felt this might have been a little low.

Has anyone figured out the best Dev's Choice AE mission for farming, so you can get regular rewards?

Yeah, if you want regular rewards, you'd be better off farming one of the popular farming missions. Otherwise, AE is superior for raw inf/xp gain, while regular content can net you more depending on the drops you get.

I find it's the tickets that actually make AE good. I can generally average upwards of 100mil a day from only 20 minutes or less of actual farming.

So what kind of mobs are giving better raw inf/exp gain? Are people just creating custom large maps populated with, say, Council or Freaks and going at it. I'm sorry to sound naive, I've just stayed 100% away from AE farming and now with double xp upon us I need to figure out what to do to drive 2 new level-pacted toons to 50.

double xp doesnt work in AE.
But mostly people make costum critters geared toward a certain set, like fire melee critters for farming on an SS/FA.
