My build has 218.8% global recharge, so recently I swapped over to musc, and it works pretty nicely I must say. Only reason I thought about swapping was two DM/Fire farmers I know clear a cave in the same time as me.

Came up with a new build using katana and fire aura. It requires a high amount of investment to surpass SS but I think that once you get all the right enhancements it does indeed do that. If anyone could take a look and give advice in the recent thread I posted I would appreciate it. Will be going through this thread in a sec to see if katana has been brought up before.

Here's my SS/Fire farmer build. It's extremely specific for fire farms in AE, with 222.5% rech.

It pretty much melts through any fire farm, and I put it up to +4 x8 just because I hate how quickly the mobs die at +2.

I took Reactive t4 75% fire DoT 25% -res
Ion to hit 40 targets
Spiritual to help recharge even more
Ageless +rech +recovery to solve end problems and to have even more recharge


It's at the recharge cap for slotted powers a lot, inbetween Ageless and the +rech proc that keeps firing. The end was pretty bad before Ageless, and now it's easy. I use 1-2 purples per mob, but have binds to combine everything else into reds. It kills fast enough that it always has reds on it.

Here is my current ss/fire/mu build. It's focused on recharge and hitting that defense soft cap to fire.
I went with Ageless Core t4 +recharge +recovery +end
Spirtual for the extra Recharge
Reactive 75% Fire 25% res
and Ion to hit 40targets.
No need for purple inspirations or buffs. Can Run full cave farm in under 20minutes. The end is perfectly fine with consume and ageless ready to use. All around perfect farming build.

I dont run SS on mine but all my other stats are equal or better and I doubt SS is going to make that big of a difference. Your using SS on the map right? or is that just for outside of AE?

Says 37.1% to Fire when I load it up. How is that the softcap?


Also your slotting isnt the best. It's like you looked at a really good build and used the best parts but then slotted everything else horribly. You have beyond more ACC then you would ever need to face anything in this game. If you look in MIDS next to the attack you need it to be at 98% to hit a +3. Which with a level shift is what you'd be facing. Your attacks are at around 200% without rage. The damage aura is a bad spot for the brute proc as it will only fire once every ten seconds, NOT once every tick. 4 slotting LotG in stealth and weave is a waste. You dont need the ACC and you dont need the hit points. If my brute doesnt eat it during a cave map yours shouldnt either.

Your also well past the recharge cap by about the amount spiritual is giving you.

I'd continue but its late here and I'm tired.

The build I posted right before yours (right above Otelo's) would preform on a much faster level. It's been said in this thread before, but if someone wanted -the- most efficient build for farming, it would have to be pure recharge. The 50% global recharge difference changes a lot.

I never thought Fire Defense was worth it. I'll pop 2 purples, kill much faster and earn more purples in that time, while earning more reds to farm even faster. It's an exponential growth that makes recharge awesome.

The faster I can kill, the more damage I can do, the more survivability I get. (Only in a farm map of course, not regular play).

thanks guys, but as I mentioned I farm with my second account which isn't VIP.. the Chars I pl up are on my VIP account.
Thanks for the builds.. I hope they are effective with out tier 4 and alpha stuff.

I havent looked at your build yet but I wouldnt be surprised if with that much global recharge your well past the cap too.

Off the top of my head, 400 cap - 130 for spiritual/enhancements is 270. 270 - 222.5 global recharge is 47.5. Subtract 10 from that for the consistent buff from ageless is 37.5. So essentially every time FF goes off your only getting that 37.5 buff and losing out on 62.5% of it cause your at the cap. I'd advise going with a new alpha or cutting back on some of the recharge bonuses for def ones.

Does it have a IO license? Cause without IO's its a wasted effort. Granted the loss of Ipowers is a huge bust but I guess they can be considered extra. Only one that isnt is Ageless.

I don't think any other alpha would benefit me as much.

I'm sure you know this, because it was discussed earlier in the thread, but the SS/Fire chain even at recharge cap isn't without gaps. That means, the more recharge, the longer at the cap, or the longer -near- the cap, the more time you can shave off the chain and close the gaps.

We all know how much even 1 or 2 seconds can mean when it comes to DPS, and AoE DPS isn't any different.

I'm looking at you Ball Lightning.

I wouldn't ever slot my main powers baddly in order to get more recharge, but seeing as I've done both I don't see a problem.

I've thought about getting defense bonuses, but the truth is that nothing lives long enough to be a threat, and killing really quickly gives purples. Even the small ones give +12.5% defense, which adds up quickly. Defense is gained really easily from inspirations rather than bonuses.



Being at the recharge cap the majority of the time will increase my farm time much more than only being close with defense.

So did this person ever race you. I'm kinda skeptical to believe someone with only 3 posts.

I just started pimping out elm/shld scrapper with very rares and i really don't see it being faster than my ss/fire.

Don't get me wrong i like my elm/shld for missions and trials, but i just don't see it. :O

Thunderstrike is just too long and small area to compare to footstomp. I mean my ss/fire has like 185% recharge right now and can clear a short ae ambush faster than my elm/shld with 165% recharge that would buy all reds before entering to give them an advantage. There's also a sb npc near entrance to offset recharge and both characters have all incarnates.
