I'll be posting some numbers from my "cheap" Claws/Fire soon, just working on getting the alpha level shift first. So far it's been really solid.

So I tested out my Claws/Fire a bit and was getting around 2.8 mil inf/min, I'm still going to see if I can get over 3 mil. Between Fireball, Burn, Spin and Shockwave, I always have an AoE up.

I'm using this cheap no purple build.

I randomly see /elec and /dark brutes running around, what are they actualy farming? Though /elec has capped energy resist, unlikely they gonna face EM based powers for some serious stun stacking. same for /dark, they have a insane heal ability but what could they farm that suits their resistance? (since defense can always be made).

I do love my 2 /fire brutes, but they get boring.. fast. For the past 5 years i've been playing a /fire tank, wich kinda got me to the point i start to hate /fire.

Hero side /inv and /granite can face +3 (not sure +4) without any help, i was thinking of making a /inv brute but i have to invest big time on that (kinetic combat.. ouch) to hit softcap. Same for WP (hero can once u softcap and bump your SL slightly more), but with 50% resist against a +3 SL farm, the regen just wont cut it.

I dont mind killing slower (well, not tank-slow), as long as i get a nice substitude for my /fire.

What you are seeing is a new way to farm called lowbie farming. Top-Doc has set up a low lvl farm called CEBR which translate to Claws/Electric armor Brute. It is capped at lvl 2 and with setting at +2/8 you have powers up to lvl 6 and can lvl fairly fast plus it's a 5 mission arc of the same mission by the time you finish the first run through of all 5 missions you are around almost lvl 20 or so.

If the rumor is true that there will be no xp rewards from AE, I see the old farming maps becoming very popular again.

Which probably means that the Fire/Kin controller will reign supreme again.

If at this time there was a change to AE we would have seen it on Beta. People would be able to link to a patch note that says something like:

MA: Removed experience from all non Developer Choice Arcs.

No such change is in effect on Beta.

In fact the xp boosters that grant 1.25 times xp work in AE as of the last patch. I would have thought this was a bug but the boosters only started working in AE when they were nerfed from double xp down to 1.25 times xp so it is likely WAI.

Paragon wants people to spend money on that MA license. They aren't going to buy it if the arcs don't give xp.

It seems anymore I see this rumor in AP broadcast as much as I see ad's for farms.

It is going to be interesting to figure out the best Farmer now post-MARTy.
Brutes are pretty much out of the question, they kill too fast. Will Tanks gain the new Farmer Crown? Or will they be too fast too?

Except they don't seem to work when the toon is dead? As far as I can tell, you die and you lose the buff. Which makes it really hard for dual-boxed ambush farms, as the triggered ambushes will always pwn the lowbie toon. And then he sort of stays dead most of the farm

They persist through dead (if you hospital, you have the buff again), but from what i saw on my toon with XP booster, it remains active while being dead. But might also been a 52 mob versus a 53 mob that i killed.

It DOES persist through death -- that is, you have the buff after you revive -- during the period of the buff. However my testing implies that the buff shuts off while you are dead, e.g., laying on the floor of the mission. Which kind of sucks because you pretty much will be dead a ton in AE ambush farms (the amubushes see through stealth and shadowy presence).

mmk, went ahead had PLed someone 1-50 last night to see how the resent change effected everything.

Took 3:19. Exactly 14 arcs, 70 missions, of FIRE! (ID# 423253)

Load times were included, they had an average of 6 in 7 out. Which means there was about....15 minutes of load times i think. I honestly couldnt believe how fast they were.

Thats down from about 2 hours and 9.5 arcs.

You know, no offense here, ultrawatt, (GJ, btw) but do you think that publicly stating such a short 1-50 time, here on the forums is a good way to not rub Posi's nose in it, MARTy notwithstanding? I know that they can datamine you at any time, and MARTy was designed to catch "too much, too fast" but even if it didn't in this case, might not these kind of posts raise Dev awareness just enough to prompt them to kick MARTy up a notch?

I'm not saying that it will but its kinda like staring down a cop. We attract their interest at our own peril.

I dont really know if we have to worry about that, the time is already 1/3 slower than before. So, that kind of proves they slowed us down.

Back before i20 i believe it took me only 2:49 to get a someone to 50.
Not only was my build at the time WAY worse but my map was on its old, much less effective, set up.
I also had load times 20 in 30 out. So if i had had load times like that it would have added almost 40 minutes to my time now.

Also, MARTy was changed to not affect these farms already.

Cool, cool. I'm just concerned with anything that might cause them to RETHINK how it's currently set to make it even SLOWER.

Its not a biggie, some "very intelligent" individual bragged about the 2 hrs 1 to 50. Frankly folks, the bragging about "how fast" you got so-so to 50 only sends out red flags. Sooner or later they are going to nerf the AE farming completely and we'll all just be lucky we enjoyed ourselves for the time. Its only taken since the introduction of this thread in january and the cebr post to come up with MARTy. Nerfbats are coming and the "serious about my AE arc" folks will jump up and down because they finally got what they wanted.
