And you can't put the FF +rech in FSC.

But still anything/fire/mu brute is going to be pretty close.

FSC actually does MORE dmg than FS and has the same rech. The smaller radius shouldnt matter in an ambush farm at least. It does however have a longer activation time.
The fact that you dont get the FF+rech proc as well is a BIG deal though. But i haven't done too many tests and i could see fire/fire/mu being a very close second.

I'm not sure why I put /Soul up there. I did mean Mu but oh well.

And that FF +recharge proc is another good point you two. I did forget about that.

I've been thoroughly convinced that SS/FA/MU Brute is the best farming class. Is there any builds on this AT that I can access?

This si what I use for farming, it's cheap and nasty. I run fire ambushes so I focused on fire def over positional defences, vengeance is used to max defence but it's easy to find someone that wants PL'ed to supply the vengeance bait during farming.
Mocking beratment sets are brilliant for for 3.125% fire def and 7.5% recharge. Unfortunatly build is unable to do much outside AE, focused entirely on being an AoE Death Machine.

For a duo with a SS/Fire brute, what (Im looking at a fire/* corruptor specifically for thematic reasons) would go the best with it?

/cold would be the initial answer.

I'd say Kin.
Someone boosting both your recharge and damage is awesome.
Less time spent popping reds means more time killing things. I am pretty sure that is more beneficial than chucking out a -res debuff on a pile of corpses.

Cold, Kin, and Sonic would all work. Kin wouldn't be as benefitial in an ambush farm, but if you're both munching on inspirations you probably won't be able to stay at the damage cap without help.

What Lore pet is everyone using with their brute? I made rikti for the extra recharge from AM but it doesnt seem to last that long and the pet doesnt seem to like to reapply it right away. It's also only a 15% recharge boost. Anyone know what the recharge boost is from the phantom support pet?

I have a question.
I am making a farm and was thinking of limiting the mobs to level 51 which would mean at +4 it would auto exemp me down to level 47.
This is what I currently know:
1: When exemp'd to 47, I keep all my powers, Incarnate abilities and my level shift.
2: When Exemp'd to 47, I keep all my set bonuses regardless of the level of the IOs involved.
3: Enhancement power modifiers are only reduced when exemping below level 45. So at 47 it shouldn't alter the strength of my abilities.

This is what I don't know:
Does it make a positive difference? I am assuming the mobs being 3 levels lower means 3 levels less worth of HP for me to kill but would the base damage of my attacks be scaled down relatively to the point it doesn't help at all?

Unslotted a level 47 Brute Punch does 41.29 damage. That's 19.82 damage against a +4 (51) minion who has 432 HP, so it'll take 21.8 attacks to finish it off. A level 50 Brute Punch does 41.71 damage, or 20.02 against a +4 (54) minion who has 435.7 hp, so it'll take 21.76 attacks. I'm ignoring Enhancements, Rage, Fury, and popping reds because it's equal between the two.

So a level 50 Brute fighting level 54 Minions is faster by a whole 0.18%.

In other words, it doesn't really make a difference. Just farm 50s or people will look at you funny.

Goodbye and thanks for all the fish.

i did a 1-50 in the a.e. with my fire/fire i think it took around 7 or 8 hours..but on my elec/fire it took 6. now it could be how many times i broke to pee or eat cause i really wasnt counting..but it did seem faster on my elec/fire.

that being said if you want a 50 in a hurry both do nicely.

What would you consider the best "farming" missions in the regular game, that is outside of AE? Would these missions need a different AT and/or powerset combo to farm effectively?

I realize that the rewards will be overall less than AE farming, but I'm looking for something to do when I need a break from AE. I have a number of 50s and no problem leveling another to switch off to if another AT would be better suited.

I -think- it's a Maria Hill mission that gives you one of those alternate dimension maps chock full of level 50 Freakshow. It requires clicking on a glowie to complete, so you can easily reset it. Freakshow tend to be pretty easy, at least they used to be, not sure now with the addition of the Super Stunners.

Battle for TV redside (television contact) is the one I'd choose. It dishes out the incarnate shards every run through and I get at least 1 purple when running a drone every other mission. Nemesis and family, but the exiting the mission zone is borked and I don't have the heart to tell them to fix it or else they'd put a time on it. Just exit to the hospital to reset.

I only have spiritual slotted so +3/x8 is all my ss/fa can handle with my AE farming build.

Yeah, battle for TV was generally the most common farm back in the day.

I dont like be able to farm with only one side though so i just got a RWZ map (SS/fa seems to do suprisingly well against them since there nrg isnt -def)

But blueside its either the demon farm (from...someone) if you want to play in easy mode. Or a freak map, as they give more xp/inf per kill and its just plain old fun to kill them before they can even heal. XD

Been awhile since I've posted here, but I had a little accomplishment today that I want to brag about.

- Dual Box PL (I was controlling both accounts from the same comp)
- PL'r was my SS/FA Brute
- Used the FIRE! mission

Here are the results.

Never thought PLing would surpass the old techniques, but incarnates + ambush farms have accomplished that.

Impressive, now level pact (before the ability is gone with i21) and see his long it takes. I'm betting 5 hrs and you'll have two level 50s.

Old techniques being the old BP/Rikti/Ninja farms.

The fire/fire blaster that I made is an attempt at farming with something different. Initial tests show some promise, but ultimately, I dont think it has a chance with the mobs scattering every so often.

Have you tried a fire/dark corruptor with incarnates.
