Yeah, i have no idea where this idea of a gap for KoB came from...i thought it was a well-established fact that you can pretty much maintain a full AoE attack chain with SS/fire/mu.

Probably the same people who are saying you shouldn't build your SS/Fire/Mu for recharge.

Posted

Yeah, I built my SS/FA for pure recharge. I know if I built for fire defense I wouldn't need any purples (or at least far fewer) for farming, but the build trade offs aren't worth it to me. Inspirations rain from the sky when farming.

I mash my insp combining binds to make all the reds I need, 1-2 purples at a time is plenty to keep me on my feet. I don't need Healing Flames much either. At most once a run if I have bad luck with insp drops.

Yeah, generally 1 purple is fine, but technically I don't need any. Can get by without any inspirations, but then you actually have to use Healing Flames.

As far as KoB goes, even on my SS/Fire/Soul I'm not going to spend 2.37 seconds to damage 1 target. Once in a while I'll fire off Gloom.

Heya folks. I've updated my lowbie map to streamline it a bit and change some stuff up.

1. I've changed the ambush triggers to bosses instead of objects.
2. I've given the bosses text to help you find them. Plan to update their costumes to make them distinct.
3. I've changed the map to the grandville conference room. Still not sure if that will stay, but I'm open to suggestions. Just got sick of the abandoned warehouse.

I've also discovered that Dual Blades is amazing at these farms. By level 8 you can have a damage aura, Hasten and the weaken combo. Typhoon has a short recharge so it really helps speed things along. This time I'm doing it on a Dark Armor Brute which is good for this since all you need is a damage aura.

I've been experimenting with patrol triggers, but they never seem to spawn anywhere near the player. Not sure if there's any way around that, but if anyone has any ideas, I'm open.

Give it a try! Arc ID: 503858

4 kinetic combats + 3 or 4 Reactive Armors should get you a fair bit over 20%, more like 35 to 40% s/l defense (with weave)

Yeah I took a level 1 farm with a WARSHADE and it was a bit of a drag until level 6 (Orbiting Death+Sands of Mu, OD is a tanker level damage aura, so much faceplanting was involved since it was taking a bit long to defeat enemies) but after getting Nova Form at 6 I cruised to 22, softcapped and alternating my 2 aoe blasts, which is where I wanted to get to with him.

So as far as farming goes, how would u rate a dark/fire brute thats doing cyborg map 54x8 with 1 on map for veng bait running it in 4 mins flat consistantly?

Thats starting time of running in and hitting veng til clicking comp for mish complete with all the guys dead, no stragglers

That's not too shabby. I've been running mine on ultrawatts maps and I dig the dark consumption as an extra minion killer when its up. This brute I have in a leveling pact so his leveling is slow but at least he's making a killing on the market.

It takes my SS/Fire 6-7 minutes to clear and averages 1.8-2.1 million per minute. I guess softcap melee defense at the expense of recharge was not the way to go. :'(

Honestly, I'd like to see it done. I'm assuming were talking about Crey's Cyborgs (472577). The fastest I can get my SS/Fire brute (and he has about 200% recharge) to run that map is 4:30-4:40. Most runs are about 5 minutes because of chasing after the stragglers. It does take me close to 30 seconds to run in, destroy both ambush objects, and position myself in the center before I start attacking.

Here's a video of my brute running that farm. This also shows pretty much no gap between the AoEs (BL-FS-Burn-Fences)

Its a nice and very expensive build. I'd like to see your numbers on fuzzy kitten's frontload. Because frankly with that expensive of a build, a 5 min cyborg doesn't do it justice.

Uses 3 purple sets but only arm is that expensive.

taking the time to go and break both objects is slowing u down, im killing during the time in between breaking the objects. Ill have to do more test runs, but someone else timed me once and said it was 4:01 mins.

I've only ran frontload a couple of times previously so maybe I'm not approaching the map in the best way. On +4/8 with bosses I got a 3:00 run time from first attack to last mob dead. I've seen faster times posted in this thread but it might have been before the reactive fix.

As for the build, if you replace the purple sets with regular ones (Armageddon with Obliteration, Unbreakable Constraint with Basilisk's Gaze, and Absolute Amazement with Stupefy) it becomes a not to expensive build that should be manageable by most, while losing only a few recharge points (198% - 187%).

How does your end bar hold up?
I imagine you will have plenty of blues for it not to matter solo or with one other but with two or more is it an issue? How often are you having to chug a blue to maintain a steady attack chain?
I am by no means criticizing btw, I am curious and may steal this build .

Yeah that time is more respectable of the build. How does that build do with general overall content at +4/x8? Just curious since I use my farming build for all around content and some I have to just turn the diff down.

I guess by expensive for the "casual" gamer if the build besides AE drops costs b/t 1.2 to 2 billion its expensive. With AE drops my most expensive purchases was the gambler recharge and the miracle +recovery and all total it was about 300 million. That's what I consider cheap and I know buying those purples, recipes only, is about 30 million +.

I don't really have endurance issues as I'm using Tier 4 Ageless Core Epiphany (+End, +Recovery, +Recharge Rate). It lasts for 120 seconds and I just recast it as soon as its over. Without it, I would probably need the cardiac alpha or different slotting in endurance heavy toggles and attacks.

A ST attack in the chain is inevitable.

KO Blow only has .7s more activation time than Haymaker and does more DPA than it. It's better to use that as your filler in the chain.
I can't believe you don't think Mu mastery with 4 AoEs can make a seemless attack chain when with just Fire mastery I can make a virtually seamless attack chain with just 3 AoEs which gives me perfect time to click Insp/Veng/Fiery Embrace/Rage whatever during the 1 second it's not up. I should really respec into Mu but honestly, have you never played a properly built SS/Fire before? If you look at Dacus video you can see he has overlap time with 4 AoEs during insp eating.

I slot for nothing but Dam/Rech, FF/Ageless/Spiritual, throw Aegis in your shields and when you hit Veng you are good to go on Def. Eat a tray of Reds before running in the mission and destroy everything.

Just added 'Fury of the Gladiator: Chance for -res' to burn and it's pretty good. Better then I expected. It is pretty expensive, about 1bil+ on freedom, but I think if you want the fastest farmer possible, it's a solid investment.

Overall the -20% res added about 18-20% damage to my attacks, a quick test and I saw footstomp went from 238 to 289 and burn ticks when from 9 to 11 on debuffed targets.

Definitely helped my cyborg farm runs. I'm now pretty consistent at running in 4:30 even with some stragglers running around at the end.

I have been following the thread on and off concerning the best things to do on my SS/Fire and I have two questions.

1)What do the pros recommend for the different Incarnate abilities at this point? I just started going after them on a new farm toon since I restarted on a different server.

2) Mu or Arctic Mastery? I saw that Snowstorm was suggested by some at one point.

Thanks in advance and keep on smashing.

1) Spirit alpha, reactive interface, ageless destiny, and ion judgement.

2) Arctic was only good for about...1 week. During the time when reactive would go off like crazy, but now its back to mu.

Ok I agree its not great either, but its a map people are familiar with and one that gets requested the most when I level people, so I give the customers what they want.
