Yes with the optimal "ss,elec"/fire build the designated alt. can hit 38+ in a matter of hours.
I actually meant "solo farming" as in "one person, one account". You start in AE as a level 1 and go from there. Sure, it won't go as fast as with a dedicated farming character, but you get 100% of the xp rather than ~60%, and pretty much any combo can do it provided you pick your AoEs and aren't shy about using your insps (which is really the same principles that govern farming at level 50).

how does a fire/kin troller or fire/psi dom stack up to these brutes?

The ambushes would probably give them trouble I would assume.

Yep, fire/kins and other squishies can put out comparable dmg (sometimes even surpass them if they too are min/maxed for farming) to a /fire brute. But having the aggro of 20 or so +4 bosses attacking you can...hurt. At most i believe they can get about 30% or so fire res. The rest would have to be from sets for def (thus decreasing possible +rech) or insps. Which:
A) can run out
B) arent being turned into reds
C) can pretty much never drop on some larger teams
D) the activation time is time spent not attacking.

EDit: purples would add a bit of fire res actually

So since i20 came out what are the new numbers for influ/minute?

Excuse me I'm very sorry to bother, but I am also making a SS/FA brute and I would like if someone could post a build from Mids or something So I can see how these numbers work. First time getting back in the game since mids came out and I am really confused. There is alot of Math that I don't quite understand with defenses and such but I would love to look at it and build something off of what I learn.

Thanks in advance.

Dude look in this thread, there are some decent builds right here.

Honestly, I dont really understand too much of this stuff they are talking about. As I had said before this is my first time back since mid's has come out. I've never dealt with any of the things this deep in the game and its very new to me.

Forgive me ignorance.

Looking through Mid's I see tons of sets and stuff like that that has alot of different numbers that mess with the defenses. I really, truly am having trouble understanding it all. But I will continue to look through the thread and see if I can't make sense of it slowly.

Ditto, asking for a build definitely means you haven't blessed yourself with knowledge of AE farming lore minus the "my brutes better than your brute"fest.

Hi guys. I was wondering if you wanted to give my leveling arc a run. This is designed for lowbie brutes who have access to a couple of AoE damage powers before level 8.

The map exemps you to level 3, so you have powers up to level 8. Credit to Joebartender for the idea on that. The map is basically a clone of Frontload, so credit to Fuzzy Kittens for the idea.

You may have seen me mention it in Billz's thread. I didn't want to threadjack him, so I'm posting it here instead.

This is designed for leveling, not farming.

Why it works: Brutes will have full access to the 675% damage cap at this level. At level 3 mobs have the lowest possible HP scale. Additionally, I can make Minions, LTs and Bosses with only 2 powers a piece and they provide 100% XP.

How to play: Cap your damage, defense and resistance with inspirations. Enter the map and destroy the two objects to spawn your targets. Bask in the slaughter.

Benefits: You can cap your tickets easily, even with it set to even level. You can do this solo. No second account or PL buddy to drag you along. You get about 1300 tickets for defeats, then the rest from the bonus. You gain full XP while defeating weak enemies, allowing you to level pretty darn fast. At level 3 the lowbie accuracy boost is still in effect.

Downsides: It really only works for brutes. You need at least 2 good AoEs before level 8. I tried it on a Fire/Dark corr and it just didn't work as well. The corr can't kill fast enough to make it worthwhile due to the low damage cap and long recharge AoEs. You need to keep it at level 3. You can try to +++ the level, but it might make it impossible/slower since the enemies will have much more HP. I haven't tried doing this, but if someone wants to give it a go, feel free.

Feel free to try it on other ATs to see how it goes, though. I'd love to know.

Here's the Arc ID: 503858

An example of leveling speed. 3 hours played, level 26. This does not include time spent editing/marketing/leveling/running around/idle time. Actual in-mission leveling is probably about an hour.

Give it a try! Let me know what you think.

Tried it with my fire/fire brute - had Blazing Aura as the only AoE till 8. Leveling was much faster on your map till FSC and Burn, but fuzzykitten's frontload map became about equally quick at that point, but a lot safer since I had my fire resistance at 90%.

Where is that map found in MA? I'm interested in making my own mish with S/L mobs to test some toons.

Iirc, it's cov abandoned warehouse 15. Posting from my phone so I can check when I get home. Did you have bosses turned on? I think
With just blazing aura it would be pretty tough. On my brute spin was on shotting everything every time I used it so it heloed out big time.

Yup, I did have bosses on. It resulted with a faceplant now and then because of it, but overall leveling speed was higher.

I Farm the Fire Cyborgs, its the Hall of Fame one, and i always have it set to +4/x8, i make about 10 Mill Influ just off the baddies alone per run. This is solo runs tho, so i love it, and i farm with a Ele/Fire/Mu Brute, and sometimes my dads fire/fire tanker. I Love it.

This is the one I have been using. I did FRONTLOAD, but the mobs are based on your level, so if you level, then you aren't facing +# level that you were before so you can get less exp out of it, so I went back to the cyborg one. I just dinged 30 so I got Burn with some slots and I'm going to try +3x8 with bosses and see how goes. I figure once I get FE I'll go +4. My guess it will take me at most 15 more runs to ding 50. If my average holds, it will be more towards 10.

Works rather well with blasters also have used this idea to level a couple blasters up to the funner levels of the game.

Hmm good to know. Maybe I'll get around to making that rad/fire I've been thinking about.

OK I've taken my map all the way to level 50.

11 hours total. That includes probably about an hour to an hour and a half of doing other stuff. Not bad at all for being level 2 fighting level 3 enemies with bosses on and nothing but Spin and Blazing Aura. I'm rather happy with the result!

How many runs did you have to do to level once you hit in the late 30s/40s? It would seem like you would have to do 2-3 at least.

I'm already sometimes needing two runs to level in the mid-20s.

2 to 3 depending on the scaling of that particular level. I'd say 2 runs on average. Runs were taking me 3-4 minutes.

I'll have to run a couple and see how it goes. I kind of felt tapped out on +3x8 so I went +4x8 and I'm still unsure if I leveled any faster. I know I was a level higher, but it looked like I got the same amount of bubs for doing the same area. This being on the cyborg map and level 38 and then level 39. I'm partly curious to see how +2x8 w/bosses on the cyborg map would go. Bosses where too annoying at +3, but with more things slotted and a lower level they should be cake compared to when I did them before.

This is where I feel the map I put together made all the difference. At +2/8 w/bosses I could still 1 shot bosses with a single Spin at the damage cap. That made leveling ridiculously fast.

Ah, in the post you did with the image you mentioned being level 2 fighting level 3s so I figured you did this at +1x8 with bosses.

Well if you are under any influences while watching somepne's farm, to you it will seem as if they are ... AWWESSOOOOOMMME, but on the real note? Come on nooowwww dduuuuude/duuuuudett, it is no way it can be as good as an SS/Fire Armor Brute.

[/QOUTE]Give the best mechanics tools to someone that knows nothing about cars and ask them to fix your engine problems and you will get nowhere. That sounds like the ss/fire person.
Okay then get the guy that farms with an ice/rad troller to PL yah then. LOL
Give common tools to a great mechanic and they can tear appart your car and put it back together and have it running better than before. That sounds alot like the others.
Thats NOT right.

I do appreciate ideas of diveristy in doing certain things the same as others do with common tools. But someone trying other toons to run farms with will NEVER be as good, fast and delivered by like an SS/Fire Brute.
