Actually it will add at least 1 tick of around 12 damage (vs even level mobs) 99.9% of the time. Every time your attacks do damage it has 5 chances to add additional damage. Each one of those rolls have a 75% chance to hit. So your odds of missing all 5 of those is 1:1024 meaning you have a 0.09765% chance of doing no extra damage or slightly more than a 99.9% chance of doing some extra damage.

So you can turn sleet slotted for just recharge from an attack doing 25 damage or so into a nuke doing 900-4500 that is up every 15-30 seconds with decent recharge. Oh and don't forget the resist debuff that sleet adds along with the resist debuff from the reactive proc as well. Consider too that if you get a Fire/Storm you would have accees to rain of fire, freezing rain and tornado. That is just 3 kinds of wrong right there.

I don't know about other builds but here is what on my non-supered out (ie regular game build) Spines/Fire scrapper, from one run of FRONTLOAD-fuzzy kittens +4/8:

Influence: 5,507,509
Time: 1:57

Reactive T3, 75% damage- 67165
Blazing Aura- 23427
Quills- 11531 (shows 1886, but I'm assuming it's tracking Quills as the power Flashpulse and that is the number for quills crits)
Spines Burst- 8192
Throw Spines- 23410
Fire Ball- 12942
Burn- 15432

I have no idea how good/bad these numbers are, but I can say that Burn, Quills, and Blazing contributed way more than my other powers, simply through the reactive proc.

Rain of fire doesn't debuff defense

All hail the T4 reactive proc! I swapped my epic from Earth to Ice, adding Ice Storm and its many, many ticks of damage.

On a traps / dark defender, 0 / 8 AE ambush mish with bosses:

619 tickets / minute
189,000 damage of which 120,000 was reactive

Gotta love those stacked Caltrops patches

Okay, you just sold me. I'll get Reactive for my DM/Nin Stalker.

Too many alts to list.

What sets Caltrops apart, IME, is that you can have 2 or 3 out all the time so you can, at least theoretically, get 20+ mobs lit on fire.

The hillarity increases if I can keep 2 Acid Mortars out (they're destructible) since they fire an AoE that can also set off Reactive (in addition to debuffing resistance).

So ... not sure how long it's going to last. Caveat emptor with Reactive and your stalker because, IME, it's the tiniest bit insane right now.

Edit: oh my god, I'm my own worst proof reader.

Really wish I got my Fire/Storm to 50. Can you imagine sleet and RoF with that reactive proc going off?

Posted

My personal Favorite is Elec/fire Brute...3 AoE's and 2 build-up powers, and with the brute fury means mass damage...close 2nd is Claws/fire brute, because of fast recharge and the attack power follow up that boost damage and to hit which can be stacked, with muitiple AoE's cause mass damage quickly...Comes down to personal preference

SS/fire brute is 3rd mainly because of only 2 aoe's and Footstomp has a slower recharge

I just PLed up a Fire/Cold just for this. Unlocked the T3 Reactive last night and it is...a sight to behold. All I could say was holy **** on Vent when I first used it.

I figured I should ask this here instead of starting a whole new thread. I have the T3 reactive 75% fire damage proc on my SS/Fire/Mu. He farms really fast now(I've never taken numbers), but I was wondering if anyone has taken the arctic pool for ice storm. It seems like it might do more damage now than EF and BL but I'm not sure. Any thoughts on this?

I have been thinking about this myself. But im too lazy to try it out.

My fire tanker has Ice Storm, my SS / Fire has Mu. When Ice Storm is up, it's very, very nice. But the Mu powers recharge much faster.

My gut feeling is that Ice Storm would probably outpace Mu on high recharge builds, [edit]or at least be competitive because the fast DoT ensures that mobs are tagged with the max possible number of procs.

So I went ahead and tried this out. I put Ice storm with 2 damage procs in my build. while playing it feels slower because there are times when you are waiting on recharge. I have to say tho, it goes MUCH faster with Ice Storm. I run the Frontloaded mish and I am very happy with the change. Here is my build in case anyone was wondering.

Alright just respeced into ice. Ill have better numbers in a sec. So far gut says not any better.

Edit: its better.

FIRE!(other) ID 460877
+4/x8 with bosses

With Mu

8:11 (1:38 avg per mish)
13.149mil inf
1.606 mil inf/min
7,296 tix
885 tix/min

With Ice

6:55 (1:23 avg per mish) (i had some really bad lag for one mish so these results are messed up)
12.057mil inf
1,743,180 inf/min (i think)
6900 tix
997 tix/min

Now, a few notes.

This was the first time running with /ice so it will get faster as i get used to it.
What made ice faster for me i think was that i could cast ice on the mob and then turn on hasten/rage/FE. But with mu best i could do was cast burn then use those powers.
NO LOAD TIMES.
Was in SG mode.
Ageless core, reactive radial, spirit core, ion core. All t4

There is also the rather big down side to this. You need reactive, which would mean an iTrial build. So it doesnt work if you just wanted that cheap quick farmer that never leaves AE.

I use my own farm now. Spawn the mobs up front then hop to the back. I use my normal aoes like footstomp and burn on the stuff around me and Ice storm on the ambushes that just hang around in the front and that seems to melt stuff the fastest. 496881 if anyone cares about the number.

Just finished a run in 2:36 on an average of 3.58 mil / min. If you spawn the ambushes, jump back and fire off a couple footstomps before hitting rage, you can be done before rage even crashes

Reactive core makes a huge difference.

So 2.6 min x 3.58 M/min = 9.3 M inf? Did you just clear the front hallway, through the area the ambushes spawn?

I ran your mission just now at +4/x8/with bosses and only got 8.4 M inf -- 3:07 and 2.70 M/min. I didn't use seeds of confusion, so no XP loss there. Any ideas where the other million influence came from on your run?

So,

Is getting the T4 worth it or just stick with the T3 (75% chance to proc)?

Currently Playing:

A bunch of toons! (Freedom, Virtue, and a few on Infinity)

I ran your mission just now at +4/x8/with bosses and only got 8.4 M inf -- 3:07 and 2.70 M/min. I didn't use seeds of confusion, so no XP loss there. Any ideas where the other million influence came from on your run?
Runners might be my XP leak. I ran the mission again and earned just under 8 million inf in 2:37 -- 3.01 M inf/min. Definitely good speed, but still not up to top brute-level smashing.
