Ah, what?

Tix per min is far from the most important metric in farming. Also if you see my damage log it reported fiery embrace damage so I am not sure what you are saying..

I also suggest you download hero stats and run it on your 0/8 missions and get some hard data. I will tonight as well.

Yeah, I'm not sure what you mean by Fiery Embrace being broken.

And I'm sure lowering the level will help you get to the ticket cap faster, but what's your inf gain? I can cap tickets at +4 in 1:30, maybe even faster, although it takes a little longer to clear the entire map.

By broken Dark Farmer likely means that FE doesnt show any numbers in combat attributes. However, the actual power works fine an is NOT broken.

EDIT: if i remember correctly in PvP FE still only gives a dmg boost, rather than the "proc" effect it has now.

Oh yeah, I'm pretty sure it still displays the old information which can cause confusion. I haven't tried my Brute in PvP since it got changed, so I'm not sure about that.

No changes to build so far, or planned. I have got my level shift since then, I haven't run that new numbers with hero stats yet, its on the list. Hero stats doesn't exactly do what I want it to do as far as provide a wow style dps/damage meter, so I'm working with it's open source api and that's taking up most of my spare coh time

There are a staggering amount of opinions and information here!
and some epic looking builds!

My single question is ...

In a AE mission tailored to either for min/max effects ...

Which give u more inf per hour?

SS/Fire or Elec/Fire ?

Posted

SS/Fire. Elec/Fire is sort of nice when you can get constant targetcap with fiery embraced lightning rod but in the end SS/Fire pulls ahead anyway.

i saved up my pennies and finally put together a proper farming build. i havent timed it, but it feels like its going through it quicker.
quite enjoyable.

Shisui, I would grab six slot ball lightning and fences, slotting fences for dmg. Unless you are running at the dmg cap anyway.

actually, to me the recharge is worth it, im very rarely even going to be using fences, just as a filler if the other 4 are down, but i dont think thats going to be often if at all. i will probably keep them up, but their duration will be pretty long. i did think about a posi set in fences as well, but id be over cap on some of the bonuses. so its 10% recharge or none. however, if i could afford the pvp taoe set, or ragnaroks, i'd slot them for sure. likewise, i'd use 5 armas in footstomp.

You actually use actually use discharge? Thats not a good idea. Fences is much much much much better due to it's shorter animation and increased likelyhood of hitting its target cap. If you do want purples i would put the hold set in KoB, you should NOT be using it anyway :P

Also, why do you have tough/weave.

i thought about using the purple hold in kob. but thats only a 5% recharge gain since i have a 5% recharge in it. however, if i did replace it, then i could use another set of oblits i guess in burn. hmmmmm

But, it did probably present a bit too much information and wasn't exactly clear about everything so here:

Start off by by typing :
/bind_save

This will save your current bindings to a file called keybinds.txt in your default CoH folder.

Then save this following file in your C:\Program Files\City of Heroes
(assuming default installation path). So you just create a standard text file named damage.txt, copy the following text into the file then save it.

w "+forward$$inspcombine insight enrage$$inspcombine luck enrage$$inspcombine catch_a_breath enrage$$inspcombine respite enrage$$inspcombine sturdy enrage$$inspcombine break_free enrage$$inspcombine awaken enrage"
a "+left$$inspcombine keen_insight focused_rage$$inspcombine good_luck focused_rage$$inspcombine take_a_breather focused_rage$$inspcombine dramatic_improvement focused_rage$$inspcombine rugged focused_rage$$inspcombine emerge focused_rage"
d "+right$$inspcombine uncanny_insight righteous_rage$$inspcombine phenomenal_luck righteous_rage$$inspcombine second_wind righteous_rage$$inspcombine resurgence righteous_rage$$inspcombine robust righteous_rage$$inspcombine escape righteous_rage"
space "+up$$inspcombine bounce_back focused_rage$$inspcombine restoration righteous_rage"
mousechord "inspexecname righteous_rage$$inspexecname focused_rage$$inspexecname enrage"

So now you should have a file called damage.txt in your coh folder with the above text copied into it.

Set a macro/hotkey to, or simply type it out :
/bind_load_file damage.txt

This will load the macro, note this version of the macro works off of you movement keys, so as you move around you automatically combine your inspirations.

Also note this version also combines ALL inspirations into reds, if you want one, such a purples then simply remove those from the macro:

For instance this is a version that does not combine purples:

w "+forward$$inspcombine insight enrage$$inspcombine catch_a_breath enrage$$inspcombine respite enrage$$inspcombine sturdy enrage$$inspcombine break_free enrage$$inspcombine awaken enrage"
a "+left$$inspcombine keen_insight focused_rage$$inspcombine take_a_breather focused_rage$$inspcombine dramatic_improvement focused_rage$$inspcombine rugged focused_rage$$inspcombine emerge focused_rage"
d "+right$$inspcombine uncanny_insight righteous_rage$$inspcombine second_wind righteous_rage$$inspcombine resurgence righteous_rage$$inspcombine robust righteous_rage$$inspcombine escape righteous_rage"
space "+up$$inspcombine bounce_back focused_rage$$inspcombine restoration righteous_rage"
mousechord "inspexecname righteous_rage$$inspexecname focused_rage$$inspexecname enrage"

Set another macro/type in:
/bind_load
to turn off the macro

This will undo it by loading your default bindings(the keybinds.txt you save at the beginning of the process)

one last thing, the binds also set the mousechord(both mouse buttons) to pop red inspirations.
Is there any reason why when I try and load the damage bind the game says it is unable to read bind: damage.txt?

Deevian why did you take mu lightning instead of static discharge for more aoe(cone)?
Do you use mu lightning in your rotation or is it just a mule?

Also Deevian, are you using Spiritual core paragon? I hit 50 after the maintenence.

i cant imagine running anything but cardiac. anytime you slot a set of oblit, you know its gonna hurt the blue.

I managed to fit 5 ragnas and 5 apocs in my build (ball lightning and mu lightning) so take that into consideration.
I figured with more recharge, I get more consumes.

Yes its a set mule, (he is using a version of something i gave him) FS, burn, fences, and ball gives you a full AoE chain.

Yes, get spirit core paragon more rech is good. If you have trouble with end use a blue every now and then. On my build, i dont use consume or blues and my end is fine. But i have 5 purple sets in it.

"Deevian why did you take mu lightning instead of static discharge for more aoe(cone)?"
My attack chain is saturated with my current recharge, meaning I always have one of my four main AE's up, having another would not add any damage whatsoever, especially a cone with a long activation time and substandard damage. The other two MU AE's don't have the best damage either, but they have extremely fast cast times and are worthwhile.

"Do you use mu lightning in your rotation or is it just a mule?"

Just a mule, or for when I want to feel like a sith.

"Also Deevian, are you using Spiritual core paragon? I hit 50 after the maintenence."

Yes. Endurance is not a problem with consume and popping a blue now and then. I guess some people really want thought-free farming and don't like that if they don't watch what is going on(ie not seeing a rage crash coming while they have low end, not refreshing hasten before it crashes, wasting end by attacking while crashed, etc) you can run out of end with my build. But with proper management, you get the most damage and most benefit from spiritual. To get away from the primarily anecdotal evidence people are using for input think about this: I run damaged capped the entire mission, I manage my end without every having to stop my attack chain, I can survive easily, SO, what possible other benefit does any other alpha have to offer?

"Is there any reason why when I try and load the damage bind the game says it is unable to read bind: damage.txt?"

I can only assume that you do not have damage.txt in the proper directory. do a /bind_save, this will save a file call keybinds.txt(then do a search for keybinds.txt) to a location that is the correct place to put your damage.txt file that you created.

Combine the bindloadfile damage.txt and see what you get otherwise follow my suggested bind line on the other page for another option I was able to get to work.

I personally recommend using macro's "attached" to an attack rather than movement binds for a couple of reasons.
1. I recommend a macro because in a normal TF setting purples, oranges, blues etc. are still very useful.
2. And i recommend using them as an attack because in an ambush farm you won’t even be moving at all, unless you suck at farming somehow. :P
