Anyone else want the winterevent extended?
I'd like to see the ski slopes stay up year-round. The rest of it, especially the Winter Lord spawns and no one wanting to get together to take him down, I've had my fill of. (Although I do like farming presents for summon snow beasts....)

Arc #271637 - Welcome to M.A.G.I. - An alternative first story arc for magic origin heroes. At Hero Registration you heard the jokes about Azuria always losing things. When she loses the entire M.A.G.I. vault, you are chosen to find it.
Well, oddly enough, so far it doesn't seem to have gone away yet; wasn't it supposed to be gone by now? I just logged in a toon I haven't touched in ages and got the "Father Time needs your help" message. Didn't have a chance to hit up the D and check though.

to TO THE END!
Villains are those who dedicate their lives to causing mayhem. Villians are people from the planet Villia!
The official announcement said it runs through today. I expect it to be turned off during the Tuesday maintenance window. In the past they would have used Sunday's date and ended it during maintenance this morning.
total kick to the gut
This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.
Victory! It's been officially extended to the 30th.

We've been saving Paragon City for eight and a half years. It's time to do it one more time.

Wanted: Origin centric story arcs.
If you've only played an AT once (one set combo) and "hate" it - don't give up. Roll a different combo. It may just be those sets not clicking for you.

I hardly participated at all in the winter event. The whole thing is just way too grindy and monotonous. "Here, go run and save Baby New Year fifty-thousand times for all the candy canes and badges, then go open two hundred presents, then go defeat one hundred snowmen, then etc..."
Ugh, no thanks. I just wish it would end already so that I could have an easier time forming teams and such. Right now everyone and their grandmother is partying it up in the Ski Chalet and they won't come out.

Got Inf?
I am happy they extended the Winter Event, however, a whole month? I'd have liked an additional 2 weeks, but the whole month of January?
During the holiday period, many folks are out and about, family, shopping, baking, party hosting, party attending, et al. As such, the 2 weeks during the holiday period isn't viable to folks with any form of family or social life.
Extending it by two weeks seemed the reasonable approach, allowing a full month-long run, that way those inundated with the hustle and bustle of the holidays get a chance to catch up with their mains and alts to get candy canes, badges and do some great teaming (and allows me to do some more SG/VG winter activities!).
Regardless, I am glad it was extended...just not too enthused about a total of 6 weeks... a total of 4 would have sufficed.
As far as I'm concerned this is going to be a whole month of people not taking care of their spawns, sometimes leaving them at inopportune places like mission doors or even trainers.
I'm new. I joined up when the Winter Event started. My favorite part about the Winter Event is the presents lying around the city. For one thing, they add a decent "exploration" mechanic into the game. There's actually a reason to run around the city. Of if you're a flier type, occasionally you'll notice something that entices you to land.
Second, sometimes those snowmen are tough. It's nice when I see other heroes surrounded by some tough enemies they weren't expecting. Gives me a reason to come to their aid, even if they aren't on my team. Other Triumph-heroes are usually pretty grateful for the assistance.
I just don't see these sorts of things happening on a regular basis without all the little presents scattered throughout the cities. But we'll see.

If you need help with the hosting bill; you know you can just ask us, right?
Good news for me as it means I can gather some more canes and badges on the alts I'd declined to hunt with due to the time-constraint (and I was working on the advanced gold for my two main badgers which was annoying for my slow reflexes).

I had done the things I wanted to do on the characters I wanted to do them on, but I'm happy for people who wanted more. Even leftover snowmobs aren't that big a deal, really.
Besides, Candy Canes sell for a pretty penny in July, let me tell you.

I wouldn't mind seeing it stay up for a bit longer, although I've probably done my fill of it. My troller's soloed Snaptooth so much he's probably earned the redcap badge twice over (along with two levels), and the Lady Winter thing is usually just a speed run to the three obelisks and then 30 seconds later it's done, but I always love the music in the ski chalet.
