I too did not always agree with your choices (such as not proliferating Illusion to Dominators), like everyone (who matters) else, I enjoyed reading your posts whether it was explaining the workings of the game or your opinions in the Comic Culture section. You'll be missed.

This makes me one sad squid...

I'm sorry to see you go Castle. You've always been one of my favorite Devs, and the game has been better for you being here.

Despite not agreeing with some of your decisions, I've always thought that your responses were completely fair. I know that I would probably not have shown some of the restraint that you've exhibited. More so than any other dev, you have been horribly treated by some groups/people here on the boards over the years.

Never had the opportunity to meet you, but I definitely wish I had.

Thank you for all (well... ok... most ) of your contributions to this game, and the forums. Know that you are one of the reasons I've never let my sub lapse since this game launched (which beats all other MMOs by a factor of 15 or so), and also one of the reasons I started to read the dev digest religiously & post more regularly here.

On an entirely selfish note, I wish the people leaving would stop being those that I enjoy interacting with (or just reading their posts) the most. Were it not for GF, NS and Avatea, I'd feel like "all the good ones are gone" (with no disrespect intended towards those remaining).

I wish you the best of luck in everything.

I would not at all be adverse to suddenly getting an in-game tell, or PM from a player I didn't know before. (hint, hint)

*sigh*

Why do people always assume that there's some sort of dread conspiracy behind everything? In Castle's own words, he decided to seek new scenery because he'd essentially been doing the same thing for five years. Is it so hard to believe that some people might find themselves getting into a rut after working on the same thing for that amount of time? Is it so hard to believe that his decision had nothing to do with BAB's being laid off which, while a blow to the community, is fairly standard corporate practice and doesn't necessarily imply any sort of greater internal troubles at Paragon Studios?

I guess some folks just WANT to see doom and gloom in everything.

Damn.

Well, you leave the place MUCH better than you found it.

I'm hoping you'll be working on other games I'm enjoying, and that you'll be around when needed.

Also, have a good vacation. Even if you have to move. Winter is a rotten time to move.

Take care. You will be missed.

Thanks for being passionate and communicating with us in the forums. I don't think I ever responded to any of your comments, but I sure did make sure to read all of them.

Good luck in the future!

For my CoH experiance, this is sad sad news...
but, for Floyd, (if) this is what you want, I hope you find yourself somewhere with such a great fanbase as you have now, and probally more so, better career out of it too. Good Luck in what ever you do, I Hope everything falls into place.

just a tip, take the I win button with you... you might need it, Somebody tells me there are a few high level mobs on paths like this....

Good Luck Floyd, I Hope your future is bright.

Take care Castle, been great having you around.

Like others have said, part of the joy of CoH has always been the interaction with the developers and for a long time now you've been one of it not *the* best developer for community interaction.

It's a damn shame to see you go, but "all good things..."

Hope your new job has some scary crazy new challenges - those are always the most rewarding to tackle!

You will be missed Castle, thank you for your work and involvement in the community. It made the game that much better knowing you paid attention to the players. Your shoes will be hard to fill, best of luck man, its been quite a ride.

I appreciate all of the communication that you have given us. Not many games can say that their developers have communicated as openly and honestly with the fans as 'City of' can.

Good luck with your new endeavors!

I'm very sad to see you go. But I'm glad to hear you plan to keep playing.

Castle,

Best of luck in future endeavors. You will be missed, your contribution to this game has been fantastic, IMO.

I am sure if you are leaving this job, that you have another job. I hope you like it better, not that you don't like it here, just that better is always good.

There are very few things that you have done that I have disagreed with in this game. Most of the changes made that I hate were done "Back in the day" Regen's IH change will forever be at the top of the list.

Really the only spot I can think of that I did disagree was I think Dull Pain would have been more thematic for WP than Fast healing.

Really man, I think you have been pretty awesome. I hope where ever you end up it is fun, and exciting. You will be missed by many, and to echo others, I fear the awesome communication we have had with the devs will die. You need to give the people there a kick and remind them that communication with the players is part of what makes this game great.

Take care man, and have a Merry Christmas.

I never really got to meet you or know you... *the shadows are my freinds*... But many blessings and good fortunes. You have done a wonderful job here and will be greatly missed.

And remember us COH addicts are always around... you can now sneak on and bombard us with questions. LOL.

Good Luck Lloyd

Best of luck in whatever new projects come your way Castle. Over the years I've enjoyed our (brief) chats at various Hero Cons and San Diego Comic-Cons and have always thought of you as a stand up kinda guy.

You'll be missed.
