I have to admit, I'd rather have another melee attack on Martial Assault instead of the snipe (like Earth, Ice, or Thorny Assault). And that Burst of Speed, zomg, needs to be in its own power pool set!

I used to PvP quite frequently before i13. I'd step into the zones with any character of any powerset combination and do relatively well. I also participated quite often in Virtue's Giza Fight Nights. I LOVED those fight nights, for several reasons, but the main reason was that I would see the widest range of power set combos. It wasn't all Fire blasters with super speed. There'd even be kheldians!
I was looking for the video with the kheldians, but unfortunately it's been removed. But look at this chaos! I loved it!

Granted, I was the rather mean Dominator using telekinesis.
I participated in an RP-PvP event sometime last year and I loved it, but it was a combination of things, one was the RP. People were putting up with my constant dance based puns (I was on a villain named Bullet Ballad). There were a wide range of powersets represented and not everyone had super speed, and the over all feel of the people participating, nothing mean was said (unless it was in character directed at another character, not the player). That last part isn't really that big of a deal, I don't like the trash talking, but it didn't stop me from going into the pvp zones pre i13. I would just tune it out (no ignoring, no shutting off chat).

Depends on my mood, my main is a Magic Dual Blades/Electric Armor Brute demon priestess from another dimension who uses chaos magic to protect herself. She really doesn't contradict anything from the lore. My Dual Pistols/Time Corruptor used the lore, she was in the middle of an interview with Crey when Longbow attacked. Crey dismissed her and she blames both Crey and Longbow for her poor fortune afterwards. Though I ignore it, more often than not, I don't contradict it. No mysterious reappearing sons of Recluse or Arbiters or what have you.

Let's see, from the game's launch in 2004 until the change to the hybrid model, we got 6 free power sets (well two for me, since four were before my time):
Archery, Trick Arrow, Sonic Resonance, Sonic Blast, Dual Blades, and Willpower. If you wanted to play with Electric Melee and Electric Shields, you had to buy City of Villains and play a brute (or stalker when it was proliferated to them). It was eventually made free when everyone got CoV for free. Was I upset? Not really. You had to buy Going Rogue to get Dual Pistols, Demon Summoning, Kinetic Melee, or Electric Control. So in total, in 7 years, we got 12 new power sets, of which half were free and the other half required a purchase.
Now let's look from October, 2011 when Freedom launched until now (a mere 7 months:
We've had four free powersets for VIPs (Time Manipulation, Darkness Control, Darkness Assault, Darkness Affinity) and four paid for power sets (Titan Weapons, Beam Rifle, Street Justice, Beast Mastery). Look at that, the very same ratio as before, but look at the amount of powersets. In less than a year, we've had three-fourths the amount of new powersets than we've (some of you that is) had in 7 years. -

To be honest, I think crafting in *this* game should have probably been made much simpler, and much more metagaming rather than trying so hard to make it "real." Its not like any of us thinks we're actually walking around with all that stuff crammed into our pockets.
As far as game with the laser swords, I can't really give a reason as to why I stopped playing. I just sort of did. I mean with our Distinguished Competition, it was the lack of content (every hero or villain will do the exact same missions to level up with the sole exception or three per mentor). The laser swords also has that problem, but I can't even get motivated to roll another class to see its story like I did with our Distinguished Competition. -
In the level 50 Villain morality mission, the one where you fight your clone, my Gravity Dominator's clone Wormhole'd me. It took me a bit by surprise.
