I like the idea of the stuff being untradeable. This way, nobody can buy their way into incarnate. The toon has to play the game.

I've been saving my reward merits in hopes of being able to use them to buy my way to incarnate abilities. Doesn't look it's going to be the case. Looks like I'm gonna have to farm TFs even more now to 'prove myself'.

I hope we can buy incarnate shards with merits...

You get them as drops from high level enemies - that's probably just as fast as farming merits to buy them

The website doesn't show all the icons in progression from common to very rare. The uncommon upgrades adds a ring. The other upgrades add more laurel leaves. Here they are:

Spiritual:

Nerve:

Musculature:

Cardiac:

I guess this is the thing I'm least excited for in i19 and beyond. I just don't get it. We can already IO our toons out to godly proportions, and now with the new Alignment Merit system, it's really not difficult to do... and most of the game isn't very difficult to begin with. I've yet to run into anything in this game that I can't complete, most of it in a duo, and TFs with a competent team - not even an expert team, just a competent one. I just don't get the point of making our characters godly powerful... in order to do what? And are the upcoming TFs really going to be of a carefully balanced difficulty where the extra regen/damage boost is going to be the make or break point? I think it's a lot more likely that they'll be more difficult and any good team will be able to do them fine, because I can't see a way to predicate the difficulty on a boost like that - especially when we're choosing which boost we want. Are controllers who don't take the mez boost going to be unable to complete them?

I mean, yay powers, everyone loves their toon to be awesome, but it seems like it's just there to BE powerful.

Okay, now that it's been explained to me better how it works, I'm really interested. This actually has some real interesting potential. Like if you're a tanker, you might swap between, say... Cardiac and Musculature depending on if you're fighting AVs (where you need all the resistance you can get) or where you just need more damage output (like when soloing or minion mulching).

It's quite possible Arcanaville balanced it on her coffee break.

That's kinda my feeling on the new TFs. I suspect the level shift feature of the higher level ones will be the important bit but even there I don't see it making a huge difference. I suspect it'll be something like the STF and have one or more level 54 AVs at the end (or even 55). A team with the right buffs/debuffs could still take them down but the level shift would make a difference.

A level shift is going to be similar to having Fortitude cast on you. When a level 54 cons as a 53 level you do more damage, your mez last longer, your defense is stronger, you have greater accuarcy/tohit. It's not that your stats are being buffed in this case, the enemies have less resistance to every thing you do.

I can't wait. I was bummed when it got pulled during the I18/GR beta so I am really looking forward to I19.

If it is out before the Holiday event (which I would think it should be based on the pre-download) I can't wait to see how far I can get with my warshade vs the Winter Lord and his pals.

total kick to the gut

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.

When the Devs introduced the last two PBAOE sets, Erads and Oblits, neither set came with any end reduction at all. I've never 6 slotted either set, and while the Muscular and Spiritual boosts look awesome, I'm gonna have to spend some time in Mids with my Katana and think about 6 slotting some Oblits.

Do we know if shards will be tradable at the market?

Yeah, I understand. I've got about 1250 merits sitting in the bank waiting for something to do and I was hoping I would just be able to bang out the Alpha Slot stuff with them. Guess they'll just continue to sit there.

Points you seem to have missed;
1) Parts of the Incarnate slots ignore ED
2) The boost they provide are across the board. So, with essentially up to 2 SOs worth of End red in EVERY power...you may well never have to worry about endurance again. That in itself is pretty powerful.
3) They have stated that the new TFs and further incarnate content are geared specifically towards Incarnates. You want something more difficult? Your likely gonna get it.
