i19 Can't Come Fast Enough!
Inherent fitness isn't going to change the game that much for vets who know how to play lowbies anyhow and isn't going to do a huge amount to help new players who are just getting to grips with the system. It's a "nice to have" but I suspect it's not gonna change the game that much and many people will be overestimating the effects, rather as they imagined the impact that inventions would have on End use.

Arc #40529 : The Furies of the Earth
What I find very surprising is this: I play almost every day, for a few hours each go, and I'm still working through new content I've not encountered before from GR. So far as I can tell there's still a lot for me to do here, so why some people seem bored with GR already is beyond me. I know I19 is the New Shiny and I'm looking forward to a lot of it too but I'm kinda surprised how old hat GR seems to be in some peoples perception.

The Incarnate system in particular is one part that many people missed in GR/I18, so finally getting that makes them much more eager to see I19 go live. Put differently, just because I want something for my 50s to do doesn't mean I also still play around in Praetoria with my new alts. This is not exactly an either/or situation.
Also: November 9th has been accounced has the release date? Could I have a link to that announcement?

Est sularis oth Mithas
Hmm. Frustrating. Looking quickly, I couldn't find it... I know it was on a trailer, which made me think perhaps I saw t on the Origin pack trailer and confused the two, but neither video that's up now shows the date.
It's just annoying because I know I saw it somewhere, but I can imagine that people will thik that I am rumour-mongering or something. I know I saw it. I should have linked to it right away, but I figured everyone had already seen it as well, so there was no point.

Mind 9/11 is probably going to be the release date given the Rikti thing anyway. Our planet/dimension seems to get all the invasions... Zombies straight into Rikti straight into Praetorians....
I'm still loving I18 and GR... I would be quite happy for I19 to come after xmas but I'm almost certainly in the minority.

Inherent fitness will for sure help my main with exemping for lower level TFs. Right now, I run a Positron TF on my stalker, I have 3 attacks...Body Blow, Smashing Blow, and Assassin Strike.
With i19, I get to add in Burst
Not to mention I get the travel power fitted back in (it wasn't a concept defining power before, so it got removed...now...back in \o/)
Not to mention the earlier access to a few powers that took a back seat to those in Fitness. Like level 20 powers never being taken at level 20 (not on all of them, but most of them...for me anyways).
Game breaking? No. Though I expect higher levels running some of those lower TFs will move things along even faster.
truthfully, it's only this which has me wanting i19, now. The rest I could wait on (not that I don't want it mind you...I DO! I DO! )

The BrandX Collection
What inherent fitness will do for this vet, is give the ability to put in more concept driven powers (to be noted though, fitness is very much in concept with my main, so basically I can put in a few added powers that I had to give up when trying to pick this or that).

My main gave up a lot of primaries and secondaries to become viable and I've experimented with his build the most over the course of his six years+ of life. I've gone without travel powers, tried using phase shift, had and gave up trying to maintain leadership and then balanced myself around it. The last respec I did was when energy mastery got the extra move added.
I have a empath and a mastermind who both went without fitness, mainly because of their powers (Empathy's reg/rec auras and thugs/dark). Now they'll get it as a bonus to their existing 'classic' builds.
My regen/willpower scrappers and brutes now get to triple stack fitness (fast healing and quick recovery with Physical perfection) and have extra powers to choose from like the fighting pool.
And my widow will love getting the extra jump boost with hurdle and I can take more of those great Night Widow and Fortunata powers. She's currently a hand-to-claws specialist with softcapped defense on basic IOs so being able to take some of the powers I've had to sideline towards her goal. Now I can add in the odd ranged attack for those annoying runaways too.
It also means more power picks at lower levels too. Right now I tend to pick powers up to 10, travel power and pre-requisite at 12 and 14 and then fitness afterwards. Now it can be straight picks all the way up to 20.

I was THRILLED when the temp travel powers were added. I can't even remember the last time I took a travel power except when I had an extra power choice, like with my Spines/Regen Scrapper. Skipping travel powers was a huge boost to my fun, because I could then get the abilities I wanted. Inherent Fitness will be the exact same sort of boost, perhaps (almost certainly) even bigger. Turbo boost!
For fun last night I chose a second build on my BS/SR Scrapper (hmm, Scrapper-heavy post, weird) to see what powers I would choose once Fitness becomes standard and I was actually flummoxed. I ended up taking Air Superiority and Flight because AS is the best Power Pool attack bar none, so I might as well take Flight, too. It was honestly an odd feeling to be dithering over a bunch of powers I didn't especially want. I generally only get that with my Kinetic Controllers, since they have built-in travel powers as part of that secondary.

I have a handful of alts parked ~20 because I haven't spent picks on fitness and don't want to have to respec them after I19.
Can't wait!

This pretty much sums up my feeling about waiting for new issues and such.

Inherent fitness and i just dinged 60 and got city traveler. cannot wait for I19.
I don't know about all y'all, but I'm really excited for I19 to hit the live servers. My lowbie characters, from tankers to my first-ever Kheld, are practically salivating at the thought of inherent fitness.
My higher-level characters can't wait for the extra challenges and rewards from Alpha Slot/incarnate stuff. And a shameless plug for GR: probably the best money I've yet spent on CoH/V - and I've been playing since 2007! Loving every feature so far, and i19 seems to add so many more Q0L (merged monorails/ferries stands at the top) features... yay! Finishing with a question (which I hope I can ask): so when is it coming? Halloween? US Election Day? Day between? Or... Soon™? |

With Inherent Fitness my DM/Inv Scrapper is getting more Recharge, more AoE, and more Defense. This upcoming change alone just makes the min/maxer in me squeeeee.

I still have really old-school characters with pre-ED slotting that I'll finally be forced to respec, once I19 comes out. (Yes, all my characters have Fitness, even my regen scrapper.)

But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

Strange... I could have sworn I'd responded to this already back on page one but...
My guess is for November 16th, the Tuesday after the yet-to-be-announced Double XP weekend.

It certainly won't be released the week of Thanksgiving and I expect it will be up on the training server for at least 1 week, so I expect November 9th or 16th.
Inherent fitness is pretty nice, but what I'm really looking forward to is getting the Escapee badge title on my Widow
I'll be respeccing all the characters I can, as time permits, once this comes out. To some extent I've actually felt less compelled to play until it does, to be honest.
Arc #40529 : The Furies of the Earth
Since GR/I18 came with freespecs, I've been respeccing my characters out of fitness already. About a half dozen done so far. None of my Praetorians yet of course, no freespecs for them. I figure, why wait?
It slows the pace of things a bit, but frankenslotting IOs makes it work for me. Frankly I miss Swift and Hurdle more than Health and Stamina. I play at my own pace anyhow.
I'm more excited now about the train/ferry upgrades than the inherent fitness.
I'm still loving I18 and GR... I would be quite happy for I19 to come after xmas but I'm almost certainly in the minority.
