Nice period look for the costume, tho the person wearing it is a stunt double. I will be interested to see this movie, just hope it's better than the 80's TV movie.

Looks like they learned their lesson after dealing with Indiana Jones.

I have to agree with you, also I think this costume is over rated. Looks wierd to me. Its going to seem odd when they make the Avengers movie and everyones costumes look more like there "Iconic" costume versions comic book counter parts (Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, Nick Fury, Black Widow), then their leader (Capt) comes in with a baggy costume, 2 stripes, and helmet lol.

Not to say the movie's will be bad, but the costume doesn't seem right to me. I am all for change and tweeks but something just seems really off about this.

That said I have no problem with how the villains look thus far, I am just not liking the Captian America costume.

Let's not forget that this is his World War II costume. I expect an update once he gets to modern times.

Yeah, I can see a scene in the Avengers movie where the modern guys rib Cap for his look and he gets an update.

Everything in those shots looks a little too new and plastic-like. I hope with the right lighting it will look better.

In my opinion there are two slight changes that would make for a big improvement.

First, the pants should be tighter. Right now they look like baggy blue jeans. Second the blue of the costume should be a shade or two darker.

Other than that I'm not hating the look.

I would say other then the shape of the shield that look fits in nicely with the vintage ww2 look for cap we see in the comics.

Also one has to remember that being this is a stunt man, he is mostly likely wearing a stunt suit version of the costume. It's padded and more bulky for blocking purposes and to protect the stunt man.

For comparison here's the bulky stunt man suit from the Dark Knight:

That's what I'm hoping too.

Might look better as it's moving and the actual version should look more refined.

Also for comparison, that scene in the Dark Knight ends up being a night scene.. I would assume they will clean up the 'plastic' look just as they did for Thor.

The hood ornament on the car is also Hydra . . . very cool thing to sneak in.

I think this is the combat version of the costume too... he starts out as a publicity/propaganda tool, doing tours and strength feats, etc in a more showy costume, which is likely to be more like the comic book version (bucket top boots, proper wings, etc). This'll be the one they knock together so he can actually take the fight to HYDRA!

I don't like the look of the helmet from the side. Something about the shape just bugs me.

It looks like, from the shots, that the costume isn't the only thing that's padded. Either Chris Evans gained a few pounds, or they had a hard time finding a stunt double that looked like him. It looks like Random-Geek-Guy wearing a cosplay Captain America uniform.

Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

I want that Hydra car and Cap's bike!

Also that is a stuntman version of the costume. Do you really think Hollywood is going to allow the ladies not to have Chris Evans in a super tight suit? How are they going to get them in the theatres? ;-P

Looking at the Hydra bikes, had I not known better, I would have thought those guys were Cobra soldiers.
