Whoever was in charge of Going Rogue should be removed from their position

And put to work full time making CoH 2. Or even redoing CoH and CoV from the ground up. Or making some other game that I can play.

Some difficulty issues aside, I'm enjoying really enjoying the missions more than what I have in most other MMOs. I can only think with a more up to date engine, voice acting, etc. what it would be like.

Not what I expected to see in this topic at all.

It is pretty good, isn't it?

I'm definitely hoping that the rest of the City gets an overhaul. It's something that's been needed for quite some time - particularly blue-side. Not so much that the stories are bad, but they're just a bit plain compared to even COV's rich storytelling. That, and I'm TIRED of running through the entire City to get a phone number.

I actually would not mind at all if they simply shut down portions of the map - "sorry you cannot go to Kings Row here are some default missions while you wait" and 'fix' them. Probably can't happen due to how many people would still be ON those maps, but hey. I wouldn't have any trouble with not being allowed to head somewhere if I knew that the end result would be like this.

Wait, so... you're enjoying GR, but you want whoever was in charge of it to be fired? Sir, you make no sense.

And there is no CoH2.

No, you misread. Go back and read again. Nowhere does he say "fired from the staff". He says "removed from their position" and placed full time on THIS.

In other words, "promote them".

The thread title is misleading.

Totally agree, minus the voice acting. Just let me do that in my head.

I totally agree.

Just spend an entire issue doing NOTHING but revamping the zones and missions and whatnot to match the quality of Praetoria. And what would this issue be called?

Issue 20: Reincarnate.

Heavily seconded, voice "acting" was one of the things that made me choose this game over WoW.

Well, technically speaking I guess Positron was in charge of Going Rogue when it was conceived and designed. And he's currently in charge of new systems design including but probably not limited to the end game system and Incarnates. So yeah. Wish granted I guess.

Pretty sure War Witch was in charge of (most?) of Going Rogue and that Positron is in charge of City of Heroes 2.

It doesn't matter though, it's all top notch talent at Paragon Studios.

Uhh... Someone isn't up on the latest news.

Fixed.

Last I'd heard was they'd registered the name - this is just as likely to stop someone else making a game with the name - I've not seen any 'news' announcing CoH2.

..and I just googled to see if I'd missed it, so if you have a link to the announcement, please share!

Except for the fact that when asked about it, the official NCSoft press release said "we can't talk about CoH2," not "CoH2 does not exist." Second, members of the CoH team have been taken off CoH and put into new, nebulous, positions. i.e. Positron and the art lead before David. They still work at Paragon Studios, just not on City of Heroes (well, Positron is working on the end game, but when he was taken off lead developer he also gained new, nebulous, duties.) Unless Paragon Studios is working on another project that everyone is aware of, I'd say all signs point to "City of Heroes 2."

But until someone from the studio comes out and says so, it's still just speculation. It culd very well be something else entirely that they are working on.

Which, as I said, is 'speculation'; when they put out a press-release saying "we're making CoH2", then it will be news.

/edit, dang, too slow - what Claws said

As long as it s a revamp from ground up of COX where we can still play our old toons even if they have to be ported over. Or the result will be another split in the player base.

- The Italian Job: The Godfather Returns #1151
Beginner - Encounter a renewed age for the Mook and the Family when Emile Marcone escapes from the Zig!
- Along Came a... Bug!? #528482
Average - A new race of aliens arrives on Earth. And Vanguard has you investigate them!
- The Court of the Blood Countess: The Rise of the Blood Countess #3805
Advanced - Go back in time and witness the birth of a vampire. Follow her to key moments in her life in order to stop her! A story of intrigue, drama and horror! Blood & Violence... not recommend to solo!

I am hoping that the speculation about CoH2 is wrong.

Personally I would love to see all of the zones get the Hollows / Going Rogue / branching stories revamp.

Starting with the Shadow Shards.

The Shadow Shard is too beautiful to just be used for screenshots.

A few issues ago I would have secretly wanted it to remain as is, I enjoyed the solitude. However, with all of the playing options I now have for my 50s, I'm rarely there anymore.

Although, it's been a while since I picked some kora fruit. I'm not sure why I enjoy that so much.

You will not be able to import your toons to a COH2. This would make no sense from a dev perspective. At the most you'd be able to import your character's look, and even that would depend on how close the the costume creators are in the two games. I suspect that they would be very different.

This was covered in another thread already with Arcanaville saying the same thing. If that was the case, it would not be COX 2...it would simply be an expansion of COX.

Also, if they are making a COX 2...they'd want a brand new playerbase anyway. Not that they would mind if you played both games...but they'd be looking to generate a new base of players.

This thread delivers ;-)

Also about CoX2, I am slightly nervous about it. The temptation would be to completely fix everything but that might get rid off some of the quirkiness we love. I just hope the Devs have the sense to identify things that are really fun, even if technically they are broken, and try and work some of the magic back in for CoX2.
