EG's response pretty much summed up my husband's and my feelings. We have plenty of companies that we do not support with our hard-earned money. We don't do this because we think we're impacting their profits - we do this because we find it important to vote with our dollars.
-
Yes - especially if we're able to port our current characters through an extractor. I've actually solo'd most of my 50s and I'm not ready to let go.
-
My search doesn't show this to be a known issue, but I have now had it confirmed by support.
Per their response:
"We have determined that the first SSA is not giving rewards for Villains right now. All of the others do though." -
Quote:Yes, I almost thought about explaining that context and costumes were two different things . . but I had to rush off to work. This reads to me as...
"I prefer real sexism to perceived sexism"
My uncle was a colorist, artist and editor for DC. He was the first person that first joked with me about the fact that most of his co-workers having a lack of knowledge about a real woman's body (he and his partner have been together 25 years, he counted himself among that group). So, I just can't see any of these images as sexist. . . . they're just drawings with exaggerated proportions to me. -
To be fair, you are definitely speaking for yourself.
I work in the male-dominated field of corporate IT. Our dresscode can swing from sweatshirt/jeans to full suit depending on the situation. Just like our male counterparts, we do believe that the way we are dressed does reflect on our performance.
My daughter is planning to work in an extremely elite field where she must be taken seriously. She ensures that her suits downplay a body that looks like it was influenced by comics.
She's the one that sent me the article:
http://io9.com/5844355/a-7+year+old-...ot-of-starfire
with the comment "This is why I prefer silver age costumes."
As far as the comics, we're not offended or screaming "sexism", we just acknowledge how silly the costumes are.
Check out George Perez's niece as Supergirl the last Dragon*Con - gorgeous, yet still looks like she could run up a flight of stairs without encountering a double-stick tape accident. -
Quote:I was also thinking of this bug.Hey I could bring up a bug that's been known about for years (ever since CoV launched and possibly even in beta).
Doing the Seer Marino arc, after you complete the 2nd mission, you call her to get the 3rd mission and the nav UI marker tells you it's outside of the building you're in. You go outside, and the UI marker says it's inside the building you came from.
UI marker has been messed like that for as long as the content has been out. The actual marker on the mini-map is fine though heh.
While most long-time players know what to do, the fact that it's low level content has me concerned that it will frustrate new players brought in with Freedom. -
I'll assume we're talking blue side.
I always start with the zones that are not accessible via train:
Boomtown
Perez
Striga
Crey's Folly
etc. -
I'm a bit surprised by nevergonnahappen regen being provided to brutes. I wonder if eventually we will see Dark Miasma for controllers.
It will be interesting to see what yet another try at Energy Aura brings.
I'm quite excited about poison for corruptors/defenders/controllers along with this tease:
Quote:You've probably noticed that Dominators didn't get new powers this time around. We have exciting future plans for the archetype that we can't talk about right now that will most likely occur post Issue 21. So, stay tuned! -
Quote:Interesting, I experienced it a few times last night both with teammates and myself (did not understand why the league leader kept saying we'd start when I finally zoned), and it's on the only character that has visited Null. I haven't experienced it on any other characters. So you think this has something to do with Null the Gull options, Quinch?
IIRC, the only setting I changed was to always accept Mystic Fortunes. I did check my Dimensional status. (a wonderful new feature). -
I have a sincere, not sarcastic question that requires a tiny bit of set-up.
When I first started playing the game, I head a lot of complaints about a lack of "endgame" content" beyond Hami raids. Over the years we've seen added to the game (list not in chronological order).
Mothership Raids
ITF/Lady Grey
RWZ Missions
Ouroboros for missed/much loved content
AE
Apex/Tin Mage
Tips missions
Incarnate Raids
So, for those not happy with "endgame" content, what do you feel is missing? -
Day one of Keyes has gone much smoother than Day One of BAF/Lam. The "yawn. . . . all content is too easy" posts should start even more quickly this round.

Quote:I know in this economy, etc. most cannot justify a new rig. However, if you can budget/save up for an upgrade it does make a world of difference.
I could accept the constant crashing every 30-60 minutes (the shorter period during trials) as long as I had a chance to rejoin and continue playing but now it seems I will never be able to finish a Keyes trial. The hordes of enemies and the intricate maps eat memory even faster than the BAF and Lambda and I will probably never be able to finish a Keyes without crashing. If I then can't rejoin I won't be able to ever get the rewards.
My husband finally talked me into one as he was quite tired hearing me whine about logging into Lambda with an entire street cleared.
I just finished a Keyes completely lag free. Any lag I've seen lately seems to be my ISP. -
Quote:I've received the 10 threads reward three times this weekend (and yes, it sucks.)The window with 10 threads, which I have not yet seen and is incredibly sucktastic, is apparently extremely unlikely, as this is the first I've heard of it after dozens of runs with full leagues.
However, I'm having an issue where I'm crashing during or right after the EB security guard. I thinking those were the times I was offered the "5th" table. -
As someone that will soon celebrate 19 years of playing this set, I've been through more respecs trying to get my slotting, DPS just right.
As for martial arts, between the alternate animations introduced in I16 and the changes to CAK, etc. in I18, I love the look and feel of this single target "Boss Killer" set.
I did a respec on my MA/SR at level 40 to take advantage of the new changes. While I work on acquiring the IOs needed for my final build, I'm basically running with SO slotting. At level 42, I'm having no issues running at +3/2, bosses enabled. This means I'm fighting red/purple LTs and purple bosses.
OP, are you using Focus Chi? It also sounds like you were fighting a LT that has a high resistance to smashing damage. -
Quote:I used to be a huge fan of these buffs. This was back when you could craft up base salvage and store 999 of the components needed. It was easy to memorize which components were required to craft (a knockback took one tech material or mystic element, recovery took tech power + (I'm forgetting the recipes now).1. Empowerment Buffs.
For the price of three pieces of salvage (two common, one uncommon) you get a full hour of a buff of your choice from the Empowerment Altar in your Supergroup Base. Your dominator still 3 LotG's away from perma-dom? No problem, get a 20% boost to your attack rate for pennies. You have issues with endurance below 20? The Empowerment Altar can grant a recharge rate boost as well.
The altar also grants bonuses to resistance of various damage types, and even protection from unusual and annoying effects like knockback and endurance drain.
Somebody cranking up the price of Demon Blood today? No problem, each buff has three recipes, one for each salvage tier!
Since I can't create components now it's too much of a pain for me to remember which combo of three pieces of salvage will get me which buff before I zone into my base.
I think I've used my stations less than ten times since the change, and each time it was an afterthought. -
I've been running tip missions almost exclusively since launch date. I'm finding issues similar to what some players are experiencing in Praetoria. I'm trying to determine if these issues are with the missions themselves or with something less apparent.
1) "No Bosses" settings not being respected. I thought this was based upon enemy factions as I was only experiencing it with Malta and DE. I first noticed this with my controller and I figured that I had not noticed this with other characters because they were able to handle two or three bosses in a group. However, last night my DE missions on my scrapper did not have any bosses.
I'm hoping to get the same mission on a scrapper and that controller this weekend so that I can determine if it has something to do with the level of the enemies, group size, etc.
2) "Save Black Panther 952" This mission spawns ambushes right on top of each other. My third time running it now, the waves come one right after another (it almost looks like a 30 second timer, I hope to time it next time). Even if your character is dead, you'll see text along the line of "you've put up a good fight, but now it's time to put you down" and another wave appears. I watched 5 waves pile on top of each other two days ago.
Has anyone run this mission and not experienced these waves? Again, I'm wondering if it's a bug with the mission, or something more subtle and difficult to pinpoint.
Edit - kindly, the mission reset in the short time that I was typing this. So, I was able to time the waves on "Save Black Panther", they are every 10 seconds for a total of 5 waves in less than a minute. I'm currently set at -1/3+, no bosses. -
Quote:The Shadow Shard is too beautiful to just be used for screenshots.I am hoping that the speculation about CoH2 is wrong.
Personally I would love to see all of the zones get the Hollows / Going Rogue / branching stories revamp.
Starting with the Shadow Shards.
A few issues ago I would have secretly wanted it to remain as is, I enjoyed the solitude. However, with all of the playing options I now have for my 50s, I'm rarely there anymore.
Although, it's been a while since I picked some kora fruit. I'm not sure why I enjoy that so much. -
After running through a few more missions, it appears that it's only specific mobs not respecting "no bosses." All of my DE and Malta missions have bosses. Carnies and longbow are showing up as lt's. I forgot to check verify with arachnos.

Quote:Tip mission are not always respecting the "no bosses" settings. I've been running them 0/4+, no bosses. Two days ago I had bosses in my DE groups. Yesterday, no bosses. The two missions I ran tonight both had bosses. If you're only interested in getting A-merits you should run at -1/x2 (or x3 if it doesn't slow you down) with no bosses. Running at higher than x1 increases your chances of getting tips to drop (as well as purples if you're running at level 50).
My DE mission had several groups with 3 red conning Greater Devoured bosses. My malta group. . not only did it have Zeuses and Titans and Gunslingers (oh my), it also had the non-stop ambush settings. Since the first group managed to kill me off while crafting another break free, I stayed dead and counted the ambushes piling on top of each other. I decided to hosp it at 6 ambushes standing on top of each other. -
Quote:I wish we still had rep. Outstanding post. The one thing to keep in mind is that you are never going up against three even minions. You are going up against two even minions and a body cooling on the floor.
Your first shot is the important one, make it count. Do not strike until you know what is around you. You don't have to be in a hurry, you will never be seen (well, until you get to higher level, and you'll just have to learn how to deal with Drones and so on) you can take your time. Take the extra second to turn around and see that no one is behind you before you strike.
Basically, you should know the terrain better than your enemies do. If there are blind spots, make sure you can get behind them, not that they are behind them to jump out at you. Slipping behind an obstacle to get back into Hide, then leaping out with a Critical just as the foe tries to come around the corner at you is a VERY good way to take enemies out. You can stand and scrap if there is no where else to go, but remember that you don't have to, and sometimes it's even better to lead your foes around by the nose.
Once you have Placate, use it for a free Critical. You don't have to run away and go into Hide, that's what Placate is for. A useful trick if you're fighting multiple foes is to Placate one, and Critical the other. The second foe will keel over dead, or if he doesn't you can finish him off, and the first won't be able to touch you until you hit him first.
Another trick I love to play, although with Kinetic Melee I don't know how likely this is, but to stun a foe and then pause a moment, before using an Assassin Strike. If you have like 8-10 seconds before a foe can strike, count 6, then use the AS. You will go into Hide (because you've been doing nothing but winding up your AS) and then IMMEDIATELY strike. This is lots of fun because it takes precise timing.
I am guessing that with Kinetic Melee you will have a lot of foes flying out of range to attack you. This is a good time to switch to one that is hitting you and attack him instead. Unlike a Tanker or Brute, or even a Scrapper who will be weakend by foes being knocked away, you don't have to worry about that. All that matters to you is that he's on the ground and won't hit you until he gets back up. -
Quote:Okay, I now have two wishes for AEI think having another stat "Total Plays" is a great idea. I get several replays on arcs quite often though I am uncertain of which arcs are getting them. It would also be useful to the author to see which arcs get the replays since that might inspire them to do a follow up arc of some sort.
WN
(The first being that I want the ability to search for arcs in the same way I can search for recipes in WW/BM. Rather than searching at my level I want drop down searches so I can search for 8-23 or 31-46, etc.)
Im sure the in-game authors probably have these stats pulled for their arcs. Id place money on the Croatoa arcs winning for pre-40 hero replay. I know in our house, we make sure we don't outlevel them.
Im sure youll roll your eyes, but Ive replayed In Poor Taste quite a few times. According to my daughter, I have the maturity of a 13 y/o boy. -
-
I know that sometimes I forget to rate, instead of moving the pop up box to read the final dialogue, I'll accidentally close it. I might have done that with Unfair Trade the other day.
-
Are you stating that as how it should be or that I'm wrong on how it works?
I'll be more than willing to test again, but I know my daughter just wrote an arc, she's had me run it on a few characters to test it out, and it still shows that it's only had one rating.
