Shadowy presence
There've been two other threads on this, and the consensus is that it's useless, unless maybe you want to AFK somewhere in Praetoria and you're afraid of patrols, who also are unlikely to walk directly into you.
(I've never actually seen any patrols in Praetoria, but supposedly they exist there)
Ive come to realize that it's near useless...

My theory is, if the rest of the team has died and you've managed to temporarily escape...
... umm...
ok, I got nothin'.

... could you lurk in PVP zones near the other side's base?

You could just stand in place near the other side's base, once every ten minutes.
...and, of course, Drones completely ignore stealth (presumably including this one)
So, yeah - from a practical standpoint, utterly useless...

I'd really like to be privy to the design process that came up with this turd.
It's like they intentionally set out to create a power that does absolutely nothing. It might was well be an emote. Actually an emote would be more useful, since it wouldn't have a timer.
OK, guys, that's ENOUGH.
This power is neither Useless, nor is it Utterly Useless.
Either of those would be an improvement.

@Mr.Catastrophe
Shadowy Presence makes my Praetorian Scrapper with Organic Armor look really, really cool when it's turned on. And it...well...ok that's all I've got.
I have to agree, as an emote or costume option it would be great. As a power... maybe for lurking in Pocket D. Or watching a Scrapyarder riot go by.
I have to say though -- devs look here -- this is EXACTLY the effect I talked about wanting as an alternate animation for Stealth powers. If Stealth or Hide or Cloaking Device did this on any of my stealthy, "Hide in shadows" characters, it would be perfect.
My feeling is if they wanted this new stealth power to be "marginally" useful in combat they could have linked it to the code they use for travel suppression. The idea is that while it's on instead of suffering from a few seconds of suppression it would keep you under the full travel suppression effect as long as the power is on. Being forced to only move at a snail's pace seems fair enough to keep this power balanced.
As it is now I only ever plan to "use" this power for RP purposes. *shrugs*

A turd! Now THAT would be a power we could do something with.

But I must concur--- what the heck is the point of this power?
Samuraiko (Dark_Respite) has said she will be able to "film" in the midst of circumstances she otherwise could not... but that assumes 1) she lives long enough to get there 2) she does not get hit by a stray AoE and 3) the walking NPCs do not bump her.
It is utterly useless as far as I can tell. And indeed, what brainstorming session yielded this??
"How do you know you are on the side of good?" a Paragon citizen asked him. "How can we even know what is 'good'?"
"The Most High has spoken, even with His own blood," Melancton replied. "Surely we know."
This power is as useful as the guy from Mystery Men, the one who could only go invisible as long as no one looked at him.

That would spawn a horde of Monkey RP types that would need to be avoided.

I came to the foums to see if anyone had a use for this power.
I see we're all in the same boat on this one.

Heh, I remember when I first saw the real numbers for the power several months ago. It's been on Live all that time, but obviously wasn't turned on.
So anyway, I hear you can look at it and do the [shadowy presence] thing and just stare at it. I couldn't figure out what it was supposed to do. I assumed they wouldn't create a power that useless without a reason, so there had to be something to it. Maybe it would turn out to be a joke on all the people trying to get a sneak preview and that was just a fake power like Toy Bat. I assumed the real one would come with Going Rogue, since that seemed like the kind of joke our Devs would do.
But nope, it wasn't.

Ok. I have it, but what does it really do? I can't rest or walk with it on. I can only stand there. Why would I want to do that?
