Confessions of the Bored
Umm...
I find things to click on.
o.O
Things that don't glow...
O.o
...or make a sound.
O.O
Things that are...
Ɵ.Ɵ
...hidden.
*checks his fly*
I don't click on anything on those servers, don't know where it's been...
I mostly run around like an idiot when I'm bored (with Super Speed if the toon has it). If I'm hanging out at the Steel Canyon WW waiting for a bid to be filled or something, I might run around and beat on/blast the various Council/5th Column spawns around (one of my favorite things is using my Nem Staff to knock them over the wall towards the university and seeing how far they go -- Council Ball!).
"You don't lose levels. You don't have equipment to wear out, repair, or lose, or that anyone can steal from you. About the only thing lighter than debt they could do is have an NPC walk by, point and laugh before you can go to the hospital or base." -Memphis_Bill
We will honor the past, and fight to the last, it will be a good way to die...
I tend to jump a lot. I jump like a newb* when I am waiting for people to answer questions or for an invite I am expecting... when a Tank or someone refuses to start moving and I am on a squishy.
And then there is randomly traveling around, going nowhere, and for me, usually killing grey cons. I also try to outrun captives that want to give me praise in open zones.
Something I do during loading screens is to try to find different objects in the screen that fit exactly within the "ring" that comes up on Windows Vista computers. I used to try to find places that the hourglass would fit, like the nose portion of Statesman's mask.
Reading Bios. I do that A LOT. I read my bio, I read random passersby's bios, teammates, contacts, trainers, enemies, etc. If I am bored, and there is a costume to look at, or a bio to read, I will probably read it.
And if I am really bored and don't feel like playing at all... I will make a new character's costume and then probably end up not even making the character. I spend a TON of time making/looking at the costumes in the creator.
* I have found that NO group of players jump in this game more than those who are new to this game. Perhaps they are used to games in which you can't...? Hence the phrase I have coined: "[Insert Name], jumps like a newb!"
I like to fly to the top of the zones and then turn off fly and drop. It scares the crap out of PuG teams, especially if there's a healer. It's also funny when I'm on ventrilo and shout "OH DEAR GOD NO!" when my health drops to 1.

I use to hang in the Hollows with my Level 50 looking for lowbies in need of healing. That was before it had a field hospital.
I would tease Paladins into drones so the building event would be triggered. That was before merits were handed out for them.
I would street sweep for badges.
Father Xmas - Level 50 Ice/Ice Tanker - Victory
$725 and $1350 parts lists --- My guide to computer components
Tempus unum hominem manet
I like to knock rikti monkeys off rooftops in RWZ ...
and I play "pull my finger" with Recluse with the hand cursor
If i get bored ingame, i just simply........ logoff. lol.
I've always just "run around", reveling in whatever travel power I happen to have. No destination just "Zoom!"
I've recently switched several of my Natural characters to the Swift+Hurdle+Ninja Run model and am having a blast just doing the Parkour thing in various neighborhoods (although I'm old and still think of it as "Beasting", after the way the Avengers/X-Men Beast used to bounce around).
Dec out.
I do alot of the things already mentioned.
When I'm really bored and just kinda hanging out for chat in channels and stuff, I'll go to populated zones, load up on Inspirations and Enhancements of that level range and just randomly drop stuff on people.
Lately, I've been crafting commons and dropping them on people. I especially love finding new players and giving them a few pieces and seeing if they need any help or have any questions.
Sometimes I'll try to sweep the whole zone so all of the recued NPCs are following me in a giant herd.
Sometimes I'll play Hot Tub Stoney. (If you don't know, I kick on my Mud Post, Rooted and Granite Armor on my Stoney and then use /em lotus. It looks like a mud bubbling hot tub that he is chest deep in) To those who already know about this and just rolled their eyes, well the point of the thread is what you do when you're bored right?
When i'm on my Grav/Storm and waiting for something to start or just running around crafting and selling stuff i tend to use Wormhole to move spawns to new and exciting places. For example, when i'm using the Talos WW i sometimes use Wormhole to launch spawns of Warriors out of sight into the water, or into the tram, or occasionally into a store. The ones i shoot into places other players frequent i always stay with the group to make sure they don't hurt any of the other players. Either by wormholing them back out or arresting the mobs when the disorientation wears off. Most of the time other players finish them off for (effectively) free xp.
Dr. Todt's theme.
i make stuff...
Run around, and jump.
Goodbye. Not to the game, but the players. Goodbye. Everyone, remember to have fun. That's all I can say.
I play mm's I'm never bored.
My favorite sport!
Rope-less Bungee Jumping!
Fly as high as I can or up to a high building and turnoff flight power.
Fall to the ground and try to hight fly again at the last possible moment!
I hang out in my Freak Tank costume in the middle of a group of Freaks. Then when I see a player standing out of aggro range I turn on ninja run and charge them. If they happen to be hovering above instead then I turn on fly and zip at them.
Don't count your weasels before they pop dink!
I also used to do something that I haven't in a long time and I'm not sure if it works any more. I would fly and rescue hostages from mobs all around Atlas. Then after rescuing 20 or so I would head to the top of the Globe and land. The rescued citizens would swarm the plaza trying to get to me and give me some inf. Most get stuck in the pools but some make it up to the platform and keep climbing and jumping off Atlas's leg in an attempt to reach me.
Also if you have a partner in your boredom and both of you have fly then get a good distance apart and both of you start following the other. Thanks to the delay in stopping flying it acts like you are tied together with a bungie cord and you keep yoyoing past each other.
Don't count your weasels before they pop dink!

I'll play "let's you and him fight" by aggroing hostile mobs into each other. Normally I'll do this by taunting Luddites into Arachnos patrols in CaD and see who wins (or Deathsurge if he's up.) The Ghost's huge mob is great for this when he's up since aggroing one aggros all. Pretty easy to turn Potter's field into a war zone.

Sometimes I TP Foe things to places I shouldn't. Like inside AE or a store. I dont do it to grief anyone, Ill kill it first, before it attacks anything, another player. Theres a benefit to adding range right there
Sometimes I go into the RWZ with my Empath and try to keep the Vanguard from dying against the Rikti.
Sometimes I just play with the character creator to see what kind of oddball combo I can come up with.

"BOO!"
Dec out.
I go looking for newbies to unload money on, or log onto my kineticist and buff sewer teams. Sometimes, on a very rare occasion, I go looking for badges.
What do you do when you're bored in-game?
I know I can't be the only villain that high-fives Lord Recluse on the load screen with the little hand cursor.
Did you know that you can look up the skirts/togas of the lady NPCs in Cimerora? It's true. Hover over top of them, zoom out, then rotate your camera to look straight up. I originally did this for a weird joke but it totally works.
When I'm waiting for TFs to start up I'll often street-sweep mobs, but only ones that have NPCs at gunpoint/hostage. Then I try to outrun the grateful NPCs with only sprint, and still kill the next group of mobs. That way, when I get to the first mission door I have a horde of well-wishers.
