More cross-dressing (no, really...)
More diversity = /Signed, multiple times

Textiles are gender neutral in the real world. I've always been for costume diversity. So many things I could do if I had "double" the costume options...this is signed with a vengeance.
Keep in mind, though, that costumes are designed for the game's skeletal rigs. It's safer to think of them as "man pants" and "woman pants." In the real world, it wouldn't matter, but in game you couldn't substitute something designed for "woman pants" on a "huge pants" model. :/

If it gets me the Magic Pack Witch hat for my guys I'm for it.

Be well, people of CoH.
more options are better!
I had to jury-rig a costume for my character the Cross-Dressing Zombie out of the vet reward kilt and a pink tank top. It gets the point across, but is hardly the sassy outfit of his Vogue-cover imaginings. And don't get me started on the shoes!

What frustrates me is that some costume pieces don't have ANY reason to be gender specific. I mean, how the hell are SHORTS or SANDALS female only? At the moment, the only way guys can have something resembling shorts is via the Boxing costume set and sandals from the samurai set, both long-term vet rewards.
We seriously need some costume piece proliferation.

I know upon which thread you refer. I would point out that "Heroes" cross-dressing has been a staple of the genre for decades.
A not so direct case in point for me: the television show Hogan's Heroes. At some point, everybody but Ivan Dixon (Kinchloe), Werner Klemperer (Klink), and Kenneth Washington (Baker), wound up in a dress for the show, and I suspect the only reason Klink never got put into a dress is because the writers couldn't ever come up with a story concept where it would be believable. Even John Banner (Schultz) was put in a wedding dress at one point.
Given that we play a SuperHero game, it'd make sense for our Heroes to get put into situations where they'd have to dress up to fool an enemy. Even if it's for role-play purposes only, expanding the "cross dressing" options would still fit the genre and the game itself.
What I would like is the capability to use the female heads and hair styles on male bodies. The female armored models look (IMHO) horribly unreaslistic but if I use the male model I can't have an "armor without helmet" costume.
Anything that gives me more costume options (ESPECIALLY that gods be damned male-only Renegade hat from the magic pack) is /signed immediately.

it would be nice if men could have really long straight hair like the female builds, also I would like to see muscles on a woman character want to make a she-hulk type, and she is ripped in the comics, so I think they need to make HUGE for women, by giving them muscle tones instead of a bulky body like the men.
Im SICK of that damned cheating ******* having not only THREE sets instead of two, but he ALSO gets the only cigarette in the game. Cheating piece of-

It makes no sense why females get access to headbands as a detail option but males only get them with one hairstyle, among other options that are gender specific for no reason, like Magic pack items, sandals, kung-fu shoes with socks, shorts, etc.
Then there is the fact that the females have that 'fire' shaped hairstyle which I would KILL to have for a male!
I would like to ask for the Blood Widow Helm vet reward/preorder bonus costume piece be made unisex as well. I really like the widow helms and fortunata buckets for a "surreal head" piece.
And hell, I don't even need the full borelo, but I would love to give a few of my guys the shoulder fur.
Count me in on this.

Also, the ladies get access to some pretty sweet tiaras. Quite a few of those would look good as a metal singlet or crown on some male warriors.

My personal pet peeve when it comes to 'gender specific' items. And this one really has no business being gender specific.
The Decorated Military Formal jacket.
It's the Military Formal jacket, with slightly different coloring (the second color affects pockets as well as the lapel) and a multi-color version of the awards chest detail. The jacket specific version looks far and away better than the chest detail version, and the jacket is available to male builds only. It's not even available for Huge, even though in every other circumstance they get the same costume options.
The Abrams is one of the most effective war machines on the planet. - R. Lee Ermy.
Q: How do you wreck an Abrams?
A: You crash into another one.
So, I've been messing around with costumes a fair bit. And I'm finding something very frustrating: Many items seem to be gender-specific, and I can't always figure out why.
To add insult to injury, there's always the possibility that I'm simply not finding them, because in some cases, there's three pop-ups for a field, one category, one sub-type, and then a decoration, and I may not be able to figure out what sub-type I'm looking for. (For instance, it took me a long time to figure out that "bare feet" were a kind of "flat", rather than a top-level choice of boots.)
But as examples: I found a couple of wrist things, "dragon bracer" and "cloud bracer", which were available for a female build toon, but not a huge build toon. I don't know whether I'm just missing them or whether they're absent. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure that the tiara I was using isn't available on huge toons. Most noticably, the mini-vest is apparently female-only.
In this particular case, there is actually a concrete reason to want the same costume on two different builds -- the character is a shape-changer, whose natural form is a djinni of one sort, but who can change into a ginormous efreeti, which moves from the female body type to the huge body type. But it'd be awesome if I could preserve the costume (including the belt with a jewel in the buckle, which I can't find for the huge type.)
I can see, perhaps, some reason to suggest that maybe male characters shouldn't wear a wedding dress in game, but one thing I'd point out is that all of the items I'm looking at above are things which are historically at least partially gender-neutral, and have been worn by both men and women. I'd prefer, of course, to just have everyone able to wear everything, and leave the assignment of gender norms to the players.
