2. Earned merits go into an account-wide pool.
3. Eliminate the option to purchase specific recipes with merits.
4. Force random rolls whenever the random roll merit threshold is reached through an immediate reward selection popup.
Well if you haven't everyone else has with the possible exception of 3. Which is just pretty much laughable. The direct purchase option was put there for people that wanted to get particular rewards without dealing with the market. As it stands it lets players know that they have goods they can definitely convert into what they need to make their build. Doubt the devs would be willing to screw them over just to provide some extra volume of unwanted items dumped on the market.

Nope.

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

There are many Ouroboros arcs that you can complete quickly to fill out your 11 merits to 20. There are some that can be completed in 30 minutes or less for 7 merits. Those have the advantage that you can solo them at your leisure, or if you've only got 10 or 20 minutes at a shot.

I don't like the new Posi tf's rewards and I don't like losing rewards for Numina.

Not enough Merits for Posi to make it worth running more than once and Numina is fairly short but losing influence/experience for the hunts is just brutal.

I used to run the old Posi daily for the Merits, the new one not so much...

I don't think anyone's answered this yet, but they'd never allow mailing merits to ourselves. Anyone who has the 60-month (not to mention the 72-month) Veteran Reward would have an infinite supply of merits. Create a new character, instantly receive 5 (or 11) Merits, mail them to yourself, delete character, rinse, repeat.

Haven't run the new Posi's yet, but from the times it seems most people are getting the merits do seem a bit low. I'm sure they'll be adjusted up at some point.

...

That... was not the smartest thing they've ever done. Well, so much for merit reform - they'll never get away with rolling this reward back now that they've granted it. *headdesk*

11 seems a bit light, but not horribly. New Posi can be run in about 30 min, a bit less for part 1. Even a non-speed run is only about an hour. The worst I did on part 1, complete w/team wipe on those AP City Hall ambushes, was 1:10-ish. No kill alls, little travel, pretty fun, I really can't complain about the new Posi's all that much, to be honest. Bumping the merit count to about 15 should be about perfect.

They should make it where every TF/SF is atleast worth a random roll

Old posi: 57 min best time (seemed anomalous but most would be about 62-65 min).
New posi: 19 min/20 min best times (7 and then 8 team members, same teammates, just added one more). Probably could get faster with experience.

Classic posi can be run solo now and at -1.

Uggh, good point. I ignore those vet rewards, I think I've only claimed them on on character.

The annoying part is they're token amounts. They're about as useful to me as (yet another) free costume token.

But while we're in wish for a Magic Pony! mode, how about a branching reward- you get *either* the merits or either the ability to email merits to yourself or an account-wide 'merit pool' any of your characters can roll from.

Come to think of it, the account-wide pool would help fix the drought of non-max level recipes. Earn the merits with your IO'ed out 50, roll them on one of your lower level alts if you want.

No, but they could change the reward so the free merits are only awarded to a character upon reaching a certain level...say 20. Then they won't be instant anymore, and people looking for the fastest route to merits would still be better off running a speed TF than PLing characters to 20.

There is already precedent for level-locked accolades.

You can't roll a recipe below level 10 anyway, so there is no point in letting people have their "freebies" before that.

As someone who generally ran the old posi, and the new for that matter, around level 10 to 12, The merits were nice but the 8 to 9 levels I got for doing more than made up for the time spent.

Maybe the Dev's thought it was going to run by people with characters between 10 and 15 mostly or they want to encourage that kind of behavior.

It was great fun, but I liked the old too for the merits and the levels.

Artistically, the new Posi TFs are miles beyond Old Posi.

They no longer have the primary value the old one had, which never was merits, although they were nice. Running one old Posi could boost a character from 10 to 15+ in an evening. That put Synapse in range, and Synapse still boosts you from 15 to 20 in an evening. That's when most characters start to get interesting, once you put the Stamina grind behind you.

(Then again, the Stamina mechanic still remains the single biggest game play issue in the game, IMO.)

I also think that the merits should be improved, especially on the first one. Because the last mission has required ambushes to clear, some element of sheer luck seems to determine whether they can be separated or clump together. If they clump, it may be too frustrating to continue, given the large number of Ruin Mages and spectres in the stacked spawn.
