Cyberman 8

I've seen this guy before..

I also vaguely remember hearing of an 8-man movie that was on the old Sci-Fi channel as a part of their Saturday Morning Anime showings. Loved Fatal Fury back then..

I apologize for the "wall" post beforehand didn't know if it was in bad form or not in here , if people post this it is a bit much i will edit it out :P

The man that became known as Capt. Omega began his odyssey in the late 20’s. Capt. Omega known as Tyrome Cage began life as a poor kid growing up in the racially segregated south. Son of a sharecropper Tyrome spent his time reading all the books he could get his hands on. His thirst for knowledge led to the consternation of his father who believed his son should spend less time with his nose in the books and delve in to the more serious work at hand. Due to the fact that he was not allowed to enter all-white universities that could further his quest for knowledge Tyrome grew enraged and bitter and started hanging around a local numbers gang. His gift for mathematics made him a vita asset for the bookies. He was able to make the gang large amount of profits and started to become known among the regional gangsters. The mob sent a recruiter to his hometown to get him to join the family. Tyrome’s father found out from the locals that this man was trying to come and get his son. He found the man at a local club and confronted him. The mobster dealt with Tyrome’s father in the only fashion he knew, he gunned him down in cold-blood. When news of his father’s death reached him, Tyrome was devastated. His rage grew to unknown bounds. He immediately asked around where this mobster was located. His friends informed him that the mobster was hanging out in a local motel with four other mobsters.

Tyrome’s father had always been a baseball fan and had bat given to him by Lorenzo "Piper" Davis of the Birmingham Barons. This prized possession was grabbed by Tyrome in blinding fury and he went to the motel where his father’s killer resided. Tyrome broke through the door like a enraged bull. Wooden splinters and broken bolts filled in as Tyrome stormed the room. The first two mobsters where playing cards on the poker table and was knocked out together in one mighty blow. The other one standing in front of the radio listening to music, reached for his tommy gun but found his arm smashed and now pointing at an awkward angle with bone protruding from his arm. Tyrome then found the mobster that killed his father stepping out of the shower. The mobster saw the rage in Tyrome’s eyes and knew his life was about to take a change for the worse. Tyrome beat the mobster to a pulp. Almost every bone including the mobster neck was broken. Tyrome left that motel room after his rage had passed and grief set in. The one thing unknown to anyone was that the mobster sent to recruit him was Antonio Marcone of the Marcone crime family. He was the youngest son of Vito Marcone the leader of the Marcone organization. News of this event hit the town like a shock-wave once this information was found out. Antonio Marcone was crippled and broken and his father would destroy the town and everyone knew it. Tyrome knew what his actions had perpetrated and felt horror-stricken. He grabbed the most important things to him, his science books, and left for the train station immediately. To his dismay all trains were full with new Army recruits getting ready to enter boot camp at Fort Stewart Georgia. World War II was just starting for the Americans and the military could not churn troops out fast enough to feed the war machine. A bellowing black drill sergeant marched into Tyrome’s direction and yelled “Hey boy! You ready to lay sum kraut’s down! What’s yer name son!” Worried about the incoming threat posed by the Marcone family, Tyrome looked down to a family picture in his bundle of science books. In that picture was his father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was the last in the Cage family tree; there would be no more after him if he did not escape. “…Omega sir, that is my name.”

Boot camp came easy to Pvt. Omega. He was always a fluke of nature physically. His father always had dreams of him playing for the Negro Baseball League. Omega became a well tuned fighting machine. He rose quickly in his platoon and gained the rank of Sergeant. Omega was assigned to the 320th Anti-Aircraft Balloon Battalion. Omega was on the beaches of Normandy on D-Day. His crew flew helium filled balloons over the troops and created an aerial field of “balloon mines”. Omega’s men took some serious casualties and he decided he needed to get farther up beach and stop the carnage by any means. Omega took 3 soldiers with him and proceeded up the hill. He eliminated 3 machine nests and found a fortified bunker with amazing laboratory machines. He overheard to Nazi officers talking about an “Uber-soldier” and something called a “Well of the Furies”. Omega knew enough German to understand that this experiment could cause the US to lose the war if it was allowed to complete. Omega and his men stormed to complex and eliminated the Nazi threat but in the process all three of his soldiers were killed. Omega himself was mortally wounded and sought some medical equipment in the lab to help his situation. Omega found a table where a dead Nazi soldier lay. Omega observed that the soldier looked like he was undergoing some sort of transfusion and was shot in the head before the operation was successful. Fearing that his own loss of blood would bring him to an end, omega decided to risk the blood transfusion process on his own body. Starting the machine Omega felt a surge fire shoot up his arms. His head swam as it felt every nerve ending in his body burst into flames. Omega woke up the next day on the floor and realized his body had changed. He grew about two feet taller and now stood a little over eight feet tall. He gained an amazing amount of mass and felt stronger, faster, and tougher. Omega would later learn the Third Reich had found the Well of the Furies which is comparable to the well that Statesman drank from to gain his powers. The Nazi’s had planned on diluting this serum and raising an army of “Super-Nazi’s”.

Omega informed his superiors of his transformation and was contacted by the OSS directly. The Army gave Omega instructions to strike in the heart of Germany under the guise of Captain-Patriot. He was to be a symbol of America’s courage and patriotism like the Statesman and to inspire the troops that God was on their side. There was one caveat that Omega did not like at all. He was to remain covered from head to toe and never reveal the he was black, this last order came from President Roosevelt himself. The President was worried that the white troops would not feel the same if it was learned that Captain-Patriot was a black man. Omega accepted this because this was the way it was at this time in history. He proceeded to strike at the Axis-of-Evil blow after blow.

For over 20 years Captain-Patriot fought the good fight. In the late 60’s with the rise of Martin Luther King, certain aspects of the government were nervous that Captain-Patriot would reveal himself to the public. A shadowy arm of the government, which was actually backed by the Arch-Villain Nemesis, proceeded to devise a plan to capture Captain-Patriot and study his body to duplicate the Uber-Soldier experiment. Captain-Patriot was set up by Jade Maiden and Ice-Minstrel. In the ensuing fight Captain-Patriot was greatly injured. Using all his electrical ion power he tried to make himself into a living ion bomb and take Jade Maiden and Ice-Minstrel with him. Both women at the last second realized what he had planned and shot both powers at him and covered him in a ice-jade sphere. With no where for the power to escape it turned inward and Captain-Patriot was no more. Unbeknown to anyone, Omega did not die. Instead his body was sucked into a tear in reality caused by the implosion of energy. Omega dispersed the energy in that different reality and once spent the tear was sealed and Omega was kicked back into our reality. This whole incident seemed to last only a few days for Omega but in our time over 50 years had passed. Omega returned to the same world but in a lot of ways a totally different one. His powers were weakened from the blast but are ever increasing. Omega discarded the Captain-Patriot identity and struggled to find his way in this new world.

Recently Statesman had sensed a power come into this world that seemed an echo of his source and sought it out. He immediately recognized his old friend Omega. He asked if there was anything he could do to help his rehabilitation but Omega knew that this path would be walked alone.

Here's another. This guy is "Jazz Funeral," my Sonic/Dark Defender. I have never publicly stated much about his background (not even that "it's a mystery"). I don't play this character often but can't bring myself to delete him.

Oh, I was just trying to explicate, didn't mean to imply it was my opinion too. I'm just enjoying the various characters.

This is fun. Here's another, with terrible lighting and half hearted photoshopping. (Getting an actual screenshot of enemies flying off screen while posing under the Atlas statue proved impossible.) This one is a bit juvenile... but so is the concept.

Radiation/Mental Blaster: Activity

Kimiyo Harada worked as a radiologist for many years before being promoted to work on studying the shivan creatures. An accident in the labs changed her forever.

"I guess the worst part about losing them, the arms I mean, is that throughout my day, I feel very little. Even though there are some pretty amazing things that can be done nowadays, they were just. . . so totally damaged, partially disintegrated, and irradiated, that there was no choice. My powers came about because the massive overdose had an unknown reaction with the energies we were pumping into the experiment. But for one small fire that compromised the glove-bag, and none of this would've happened."

"I can't work in that field anymore, there just isn't any substitute for the tactile precision needed, even with the world's most advanced prosthetics. Ah well. I'm doing well now, and with my disability checks, I don't have to worry about my apartment, just my dating life."

One last one. Sorry to overload you all. Been trying to figure out how to rotate the camera for months and now that I can I'm a zealot.

Here's a few characters that I made almost solely because of the giggles they induce.

These first two are actual characters that I've played into the level 20s.

(Yes - the name for the above character was ACTUALLY AVAILABLE and I was gobsmacked! HAD to do it! )

As for Burning Sensation, well... blame it on staying up too late and falling asleep while Cartoon network is going on the TV.

And these next two ... er... I plead the fifth! ^.^;;;;

I like how you deal directly with the idea of prosthetic arms without flinching. Great background bio!

I'd kicked around various steampunk themed characters ideas, finally ending up with this character, who incorporates a number of homages to the classic steampunk comics and genre while also trying to make him fit the CoH setting as well. Of the various characters I've tested out, he's becoming one of my favorites.

The Iron Blaquesmith
Nicodemus Price (aka The Iron Blaquesmith) was an 18th century blacksmith in a parallel version of Earth, a world where history was rewritten by a madman named Mortimer Faust who used a time travel device to steal technology from the future so that he could usher in what was known as the Era of Steam, with himself as its iron-fisted ruler. Nicodemus himself is kept alive by steam tech, having lost both arms and his heart in one of his early battles with Faust. In the last battle between the two men, the time device exploded and Price awoke to find himself in 21st century of a world that is to him an alternate reality of the one he knew. Price is uncertain if there is any way for him to return to his own time and his own reality. He is also hesitant to leave too soon, fearing that the tear in time and space that brought him to Paragon City may have also brought Faust here as well...

I'm thinking I will use a costume slot at some point to create an alternate look that incorporates a bit more of an Old West look to the character. I also plan to flesh out the history behind Blaquesmith, Faust and his steamtech modified body in more depth, since 1024 characters is a bit limitting.

rofl So that's why he's afraid of bells? First thought that went through my mind was Edgar Allen Poe:

Hear the loud alarum bells-
Brazen bells!
What a tale of terror, now, their turbulency tells!
In the startled ear of night
How they scream out their affright!
Too much horrified to speak,
They can only shriek, shriek,
Out of tune,
In a clamorous appealing to the mercy of the fire,
In a mad expostulation with the deaf and frantic fire,
Leaping higher, higher, higher,
With a desperate desire,
And a resolute endeavor,
Now–now to sit or never,
By the side of the pale-faced moon.
Oh, the bells, bells, bells!
What a tale their terror tells
Of Despair!
How they clang, and clash, and roar!
What a horror they outpour
On the bosom of the palpitating air!
Yet the ear it fully knows,
By the twanging,
And the clanging,
How the danger ebbs and flows:
Yet the ear distinctly tells,
In the jangling,
And the wrangling,
How the danger sinks and swells,
By the sinking or the swelling in the anger of the bells-
Of the bells-
Of the bells, bells, bells,bells,
Bells, bells, bells-
In the clamor and the clangor of the bells!
