Hurr hurr, well thank'yer kindly! Not sure, but again, if you (or anyone else) wants the templates, they're a .zip file away.
And a groovy character you've got, Rintera! I enjoy seeing costume designs with either uniform color or high color contrast, and that black, white and gold really stands out. Also, it's really interesting seeing characters that borrow specific themes from the big-name comic heroes, without maintaining ties to that hero specifically (in your nifty case, being from Krypton!). Unless you did and I missed it while reading the background...but either way, a very froody character!
(Honorary mention goes to everyone in this thread and beyond of course--I don't want to sound pompous--this whole thread is filled with really neat creations!)

Originally rolled in 2004 as an AR/Dev vaguely inspired by the Tron Bonne character, she was renamed, and rerolled as a TA/Sonic to become her own personality. - For all intents and purposes, human. From which realm, is under question. - Her sonic powers come from powerful micro-emitters layered into her gloves. - Was Dr. Forkenshpoon's sidekick for a few years. She still considers him a mentor. - Is being aged in real time with the game. She is 23 years old. - Since her re-roll, her costume has remained largely unchanged. - Currently engaged to a dragon, but due to a curse on her - she has no memory of it. - Theme song might sound something like this. |
The Green Scare
Green Scare is my favorite concept character, I'm rather proud of the costuming as well for this one. I also played quite a bit with her proportions as I grew sick and tired of seeing the same generic rail thin female model posted up on the forums.
I do like the costume, and she actually looks remarkably similar in build to Nozomi (whose physique is somewhere in the range of 25-50% of the slider). Yeah, I don't know why people enjoy making these anorexic looking characters - I, for one, prefer my characters to look like they actually get some exercise.

I wish the athletic female model had slightly more muscular definition. We're playing heroes and villains here. I want my hero/villain to look as if she could hold her own in a super-powered brawl, not like a runway model or anorexic cheerleader.
An example:
This is one of my favorite villain costumes/concept/name I have seen before. Really love the costume.
I present an homage that became much more of an original character as time went on.
Cyberman 8
No it's NOT a Doctor Who reference! :P
For those of you "old school" enough to remember him, yes - Cyberman 8 is a direct homage to 8-Man, one of the very first Anime. (First broadcast in 1963, a reference I wove obliquely into his story). Or to use his slightly different Americanized sobriquet - Tobor the 8th Man.
(And now you know just exactly HOW "old-school" an anime fan I am! I'm not just "stone-age" or even "Jurassic", I'm one of the "great old ones". Get off my lawn! :P)
Given a somewhat different name and tweaked background details to make him fit into the backstory of Paragon City. Surprisingly little effort, really! His powersets even fall nicely in line as well! (Martial Arts/Super Reflexes)
His physical design owes much to a costume piece that is part of the Veteran Awards system. The brim on his primary costume's helmet is from the Samurai Armor Set. I wouldn't have created the character at all if I hadn't noticed how it made the round helmet look during some random fiddling of the costume creator after I received the Veteran Award. I made a character with the round helmet and put that brim on it and before I added anything else, it tugged at my memory. I thought, "that looks familiar somehow" and started experimenting with it. Adding and removing various things until I found the "V" ornament. When I placed that, it finally hit me who it reminded me of and I quickly looked up reference of 8-man across the web to help get reference with other costume details. The rest of the costume just... came together magically. (I attribute any differences between the original version and mine as being due to the upgrades he underwent after his recovery from the excavation site in Faultline.) I've since made other costume slots for him that are less of a direct visual match to 8-Man (As seen above). Coincidentally, when his basic costume is in the Legendary Supergroup colors (blue and gold), his look is a close match to the videogame version of 8-Man from 1991. A bit of serendipity that I find amusing.
Cyberman 8 comes across very much like a "normal Joe". He steadfastly got over most of the existential angst over his artificial body years ago and came to terms with it. At first, he suppressed much of his outward humanity, though inwardly he was distraught over his perceived "inhumanity" for many years. Later, after an adventure to a mystical realm that proved to him that he still had a human soul, he acknowledged his feelings and firmly decided that, although his body and brain were constructed, he himself was still, in any sense that mattered, still human.
Although still very serious when dealing with villains, he can also crack the occasional joke with a teammate and has an ironic, dry sense of humor. He is quietly fascinated with the way the world has changed since he last saw it. Personal computers are something completely new to him, but he takes some pleasure in the fact that he is uniquely suited to learn about them!
In fact, for an android with a positronic brain, he sometimes comes across as a very old-fashioned kind of guy. Almost chivalrous in the classic sense to women, at least by modern standards. He's occasionally shocked by some of the skimpier fashions some Heroines choose to wear. (Though he'd never actually express any disapproval. He just chalks it up as yet another in the long list of things he's had to get used to.)
Only one thing brings him into a melancholy state - the fact that most of the people he knew and worked with in his old life are now old or passed away. He used to depend on Professor Tani for support and technical advice, but he was an old man even back in the 1960s, and is long passed away now.
He is quickly gaining new friends in the Hero community of Paragon City however. There are so many more heroes now than there were in his old life. He feels much less alone these days most of the time.
I have to say that Bacterium is a very cool looking character... and Spam Elemental is just too funny not to be awesome

-Joker
I'm very fond of the Green Scare and Bacterium, myself. I've seen both of them around in-game on a couple occasions and they always stand out to me as exceptional.

I couldn't get away with not adding mine.
-No record of Nadya Nitschke exists on this Earth before 11/3/2005. What information the Vindicators had on Nadya was provided by Ms. Liberty upon their return to this dimension. Nadya Nitschke was Praetorian, even more so, a time traveler from the doppelganger dimension.
- Virtue Verse Page.
Doomed to a life of exile from her home world, Praetoria, Nadya never found her place in this world. After years of running from the Vindicators, Longbow, and various other authorities, Nadya grew tired of running.
It was then she decided to do something about it. Using her stolen Ouroboros technology, Nadya managed to visit her past and pluck her younger self out of the lifestyle that would eventually lead her down the path she was currently on. With her younger self already trained in Tyrant's army, it took very little to prep her for her new life.
Filling the young girl's head with propaganda against Tyrant, Nadya soon convinced her younger self to rebel against the overlord of Praetoria. She did so without ever revealing who she really was. Once Nadya finally got through to her younger self, she slowly faded out of existence.
Now alone, the younger Nadya wears a costume to honor the woman who freed her from tyranny.
I feel that you could have posted a character without the lesbian BDSM pornography.
There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.

Spring generally wears her light armor (designed by Smersh), though she does have a few "heavy" armors, (also by Smersh) designed to withstand greater attacks and to assist with certain refinements of her powers.
