If anyone doesn't know, the codes aren't case sensitive, and you don't need to include the dashes. That helps a lot with the typing time, I've found.

Mostly luck. I was refreshing their feed every fifteen seconds or so from a few minutes before one of the posts... clicked straight through as soon as it popped up, looked at a random code, and typed that over to my redemption box. Probably took.... 15, 20-ish seconds from it being posted. Helps that I have dual monitors, so I had the feed on one screen and my entry box on the other.

When I got mine, it was from just typing the first one in the middle that my eyes fell on, rather than working from top or bottom.

Quote:The question is, who are you planning to shoot with all this ammo?FWIW, this whole thing is giving us ammunition.
Showing that we can grow Twitter rapidly and raise our engagement rate gives us ammo.
Showing that we had to invest an inordinate amount of time in something gives us ammo.
Showing that we need something more optimal gives us ammo.
At the end of the day, we're not going to stop working to grow our different Social Media Platforms with the tools we have available, but we're going to keep on asking for better tools to continue doing so. -
And you need to stop flipping out and pretending you're the crusader of all that is good and just in the online world.

Quote:"All this stuff" being.... what, exactly? The tiny snippets given every three months as a vet reward (that we now get every month instead, and have more flexibility in picking)? Content expansions and powersets for free? Wait, still get those as well...*Sighs deeply*
Back in the day we used to get all this stuff for free (except expansions, server transfers and renames) and they didn't have to make a such a song and dance about it.
I may be a bit of a synic (I probably am) but as others have said it's probably just another marketing ploy. One way of getting you to browse all the lovely expensive goodies they have for sale on their shop shelves.
Yes, of course it's a marketing thing. That's in "duh" territory. But that doesn't make it bad. It's not like the freebie item is hidden, and they're forcing people to browse through the store to get it; it's on the very front page. It's about the most unobtrusive "get them to see the inside of the store" method there is, getting people to see the inside of the store is almost their entire business model for the f2p structure. They're not doing anything particularly evil with the marketing. It's not being cynical to say "Oh, it's a marketing ploy", it's being silly. The game would be dead without marketing. -
Quote:O noes, the first day of a month long event doesn't have the high points of the entire event!I sincerely hope that their "live elements" are more than a couple of devs spawning random Nemesis-related monsters in a couple of zones, like they have been previously.
In other words, they had a fairly large, well-written build up to the event...and thus far, it's not living up to what's written. This is...not a Nemesis plot. I want to see something devious, clever, sneaky, and unexpected. This is none of those things.
And yes, it is a Nemesis plot. What we've so far is *exactly* what we saw written down as the opening of his plot- swarming the city on multiple fronts to wear defenses down. -
Ahem.

It's on the *first page*. Yes, there's more than just the rikti/zombie bits; those are just what's run automatically. -
Which is also a perfectly valid way of doing it, same way latitude can be given as either +/- or degrees north/degrees south. Standard convention uses the +/- method, is all. At least in my region, and most that I know of.

Quote:Nah, it's the original post that's off, unless they just *really* didn't want to be close to precise. The location they give is supposed to be '5 miles from Talos', and yet is more than a hundred fifty miles off the coast. >.<Typed into Google Maps (39.76 -70) stuck the marker below Rhode Island and to the right of Pennsylvania.
Considering in an SG RP arc post I calculated Cap au Diable to be at 40.73 -70.93, and used several different online longitude/latitude tools to do it, then yes... -70 does exist.
Hmm, looks now like I was a bit off in my calculations there. -

Quote:And why is http://maps.google.com/maps?q=39.76,...z=8&iwloc=near reachable by monorail from the mainland US?What I find interesting is that the location given (5 miles from Talos Island) is about 133 miles from the location of Rikti War Zone (41.55, -71.49). Just how big *is* Paragon City?

Quote:Okay, now THAT I would download for.Okay, might as well spill it, since it looks like it'll be delayed a little bit (woo Google doing upgrades
). The feature would be to allow you to select servers to subscribe to, so that the next time they came back up, a notification would be pushed to your phone (nearly) instantly notifying you! Ideal for morning and emergency maintenance!

Main issue in a nutshell: The people actually in charge of this issue are not the people that read these boards or these threads, and pay about as much attention to the employees that ARE here to read the boards as the devs pay to us on design decisions. If enough noise is raised for long enough then eventually it'll get changed a bit, but by and large they do things their own way. Things are *extremely* likely to unchange because the folks that actually care about us do not actually have the power to help us.
The rednames replying here and trying to explain how it works? They want it to be better. They want to help you, and they're frustrated at how it works right now too. I guarantee it. It's just that they have very little power to actually effect change. -

Quote:You're really not counting the relative value of that content, though- a single incarnate trial is more play value than three level 10-20 zones in general. This is error in view the 400-550 points aren't free or a discount coupon.
We the players have 2 choices when we spend $15.
a) 1320 Paragon points and able to do about 80% of the content.
or
b) 400-550 Paragon Points and able to get about 95% of the content. (I would say 100% but you do have to pay for some power sets.)

Yeah, because of an incident from awhile back, it's likely that said person is on the ignore list of quite a few listeners.

Quote:Except that they spent *four issues* specifically building up *WHO* will die. In fact, it's the name of the entire arc. Not "How Will Statesman Die", but "Who Will Die". They spent four arcs explicitly maintaining that who as a mystery, and then drop it as a "btw" in a description of the fifth. Are they just working with multiple teams that have *no* communication with each other, maybe?I imagine it's for the same effect you get when you see the Comic Book titled 'BATMAN ISSUE WHATEVER; BATMAN DIES' and then you buy it cause' "holy @#$!, how did Batman die!?". You're spoiled a little, yeah, but you actually want to read the story more because it has a significant event taking place.
I imagine that's what their aim was. For anyone who hasn't been playing the arcs, they might pick up this one because something significant is going to happen. That's the suspense. The mystery is what happens in the details.
Granted, it's at least possible that from the beginning it wasn't planned as THE twist for the arc, but if you're really going to argue that it wasn't being set up as *A* twist, then you're arguing that the writers are either braindead or terrible at their jobs. -

Snow and a chain letter? That's it?
... forgive me if I'm underwhelmed. -
And on the first time you've ever put patch notes up on the main page the same day of the patch, too...

It does affect Fly, it's just that it's suppresion, not a detoggle. While you're IN the lava, you stop flying and are on the ground walking/running. When you jump, you exit the lava, get out of the -fly effect, and your suppresed Fly kicks back in.
