Does anybody else collect temp powers?

There are many different "groups" of people ingame.

  • Pvpers
  • Roleplayers
  • Farmers
  • Badgers
  • Base Builders
  • Rich lucky *****
I consider myself a mixture of them all but one thing that i think is my main weakness is that when i see a temp power, i MUST have it. I tend to go through stages of trying to collect the temp powers, especially more lessen seen ones like the warwolf/nukes/event only temps.

Does anybody else do this? Go through the game determined to get as many of the temp powers as possible, regardless of whether or not you'll actually use them?

My name is damz and i am a temper!

I do! If I have a temp power that has limited uses, I always remove it from my tray when I have one use left, just to keep the power. My favorite is Vial of Bees.

I tend to collect a particular kind of temp powers:

Any of them that put something in my hands.

My main character is just a walking arsenal, I have almost 2 full trays of temp powers that have some kind of 'draw' animation and an in-hand weapon.

It's a great trick at parties! =D

I don't like to go out of my way to collect them, but I do hoard them. I still have the Void Hunter Rifle from Psimon Omega's arc on my 50!

I definitely do. I mentioned in a thread about the new craftable temp powers that I now have as many temp powers as every other power category combined.

I hoard them rather obsessively on my main. He's still got his first Halloween rock, and a huge list of other temps. I never, ever use up the last charge on one of them unless I know that I can replace it. I actually like Safeguards, because I can refill my temps from them.

Every now and then, I dip into them just to mess with someone's mind. Like the scrapper who wandered into a corridor away from the team and was getting overwhelmed--I started trying to patch him up, then remembered that Narrow Corridor = Cone Heaven. Tentacles->Night Fall->Plasmatic Taser->Holy Shotgun Shells->Flamethrower->...until there was a pile of smoldering bodies at the end of the hall.

The scrapper says in team chat, "Guys, you wouldn't believe what the emp just did."

The Way of the Corruptor (Arc ID 49834): Hey villains! Do something for yourself for a change--like twisting the elements to your will. All that's standing in your way are a few secret societies...and Champions of the four elements.

I never thought about it before, but yeah, I'm a temp junkie. When presented a choice of contacts from a broker/detective, I check Red Tomax to see if

a) Contact has an accolade badge
b) has a very useful temp power
c) has any kind of temp power

before making a decision.

I totally do! It gives your toon a bit more scope before you get to APPs. I was super excited to see the new craftable ones after i17. Moar plz.

My masterminds religiously collect these. It came in REALLY handy when we did the Barracuda SF and the MM's power was borked, so Soulsteel just set her bots on aggressive, stood to one side, and threw temp power after temp power at Reichsman. Between the frag grenades, sleep gas, vials of bees, the collectible pets, God knows what else, and my all time favorite villain temp power "Ace of Spades," it took all of about twenty seconds for the team to realize Reichsman couldn't hit jack anymore.

My husband's main MM has EVERY pet temp power, so once on a lark, while doing some stupidly hard mission, he summoned EVERY pet. "Army of Me," indeed!

Blushes and stand up clearing my throat nervously "Ahmmm Hello my name is Taxibot Sara2.o and I am a Temp Power-oholic" LOL I will purposely pick missions from contacts because I KNOW I'll gain another Temp. I head to Striga at 20 level for my Wedding Band, Holy Shotgun and Warwolf Whisle then off to Croatoa for my Longbow and Claymore. I always do the PWNZ badge mission for my Beanbag shotgun (very usefull in dealing with Tsoo Scorcerors) and simply MUST have the Nemesis Staff you get in the 30s. I am currently moving from dayjob to dayjob to add the Accolade powers (Frag Grenades, Sleep Grenades, Baton, Combat Shield, etc). Add in the temps from Safeguard "Arms Deal" side missions and you can acquire a very large number of added attacks. Oh and lets not forget Shivan in BB and the previously mentioned Nukes in Warburg along with Snowbeast from the Winter event, etc

Sara is up to 7 power trays to accomodate all the temps she is carrying around along with her normal powers and I have plenty of other characters not far behind her. ;-D

I did both of these on my first villain. She has 34 temp powers in total. It's fun to run with her on test, unleashing tons of temps on whatever issue is being tested at the time.

But if I use my temp powers, how will I defeat the Guy in the Hat? D:

44 distinct Temp Powers on my main (thus not counting duplicate Rocks and Build Snowbeasts). Yes, I've included Ourob portal and the lowbie ranged non-temp thingy. So, 42, really.

I am a temp-aholic.

I tend to collect them, too. The "Prevent Weapons Deal" sidequest in safeguard missions is very good to get started with your collection.

I collect them as well. When the time comes that one would be really really useful, I forget I had it.

The limited-time or one-mission-use ones though I will use up.

Since i17 I store my craftable temps in my email inbox and label them accordingly: "Stun Grenades Heroside" for example, since attachments don't display that bit of valuable info
