Does anybody else collect temp powers?

I would be if I knew where the best places to get them were

I hope and pray for the Arms Deal side mission in Safeguards/Mayhems, but they hardly ever come up...

Once you get the Founders and PI Safeguard or Mayhem, the Arms Deal/Weapons Raid is guaranteed, because all 5 side missions spawn there. And the two missions before that, you have a good chance of getting it as well, since 4 sides will be active.

I don't actively collect temp powers, but whatever ones I get I try to weave into my arsenal. There are a lot of them that really come in handy in certain situations.

Yes, like merits and costume tokens, my badger collects every possible temp power.

And just like merits and costume tokens, I never use them. I might occasionally "wield" one for fun, but I can't use them. They're still Mint In Box and will never sell on eBay if they're used!

They all laughed at me when I said I wanted to be a comedian.
But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

I did or do.

I'm not sure it's as much fun now that it's so easy to do.

We'll see

I do the opposite. I get lots of temp powers, because I like using them. Especially for ridiculous purposes. Getting the killing blow on Reichsman with the beanbag gun, or finishing off a runner with the heavy rock. Summoning every temp pet I have, even the Gears, to fight Lord Recluse. BEEEEEEEEEES versus robots. An SMG-wielding ninja. The only ones I never really use are the temp armors, since I can just pop some inspirations instead. If the craftable temp powers came with more charges, I'd probably stock up on enough to make them a core part of my combat tactics.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

I am sadly afflicted with this terrible disease myself, although I have been known to use the nukes on occasion as well (I'm still confused as to how I don't have that badge yet ....).

Apart form Shivans and Nukes and the recipe ones, I hate using temp powers, that is, I hate the thought of wasting them, i just horde them away.

My Earth/Rad torller never gets played, becuase he has the sword from Croatoa that has 3 days of log in time useage, then it is gone!.

Ourb solved some ov my problems as some are regainable.

That 3 days for the sword is pretty long actually. I've had characters who got it at 30 or 31 make it well into the 40s before it expired. And that is one that you can get again via flashback anyway.

I am glad that we can now have up to 7 missions on our dockets. That makes it less painful to hold a mission slot and not report in after that Skulls hunt until the flashbang grenades are used up.

Another one I really like is the Arachnos disguise from Agent G. It provides perfect invisibility and does not suppress when you click a glowie. My procedure now for Agent G's arc is to do the first mission, then take the next one that gives the disguise, then stealth through the arc until the final mission. After that, I go do my radio missions and whatever else I feel like stealthing until the disguise is used up. And then I finish the arc.

Took me a while to remember to put this together :

Too much is never enough when it comes to temp powers

It's showing all 4 of the veteran attacks too. It's an old bug from (I think) the winter event about 3 or 4 years ago that I /bugged at the time.

I used to be able to use them all, but that was fixed a long time ago. Nowadays I can't use any of them, I just leave them there because it's an oddity that adds a little flavour to the character

It's not like I miss the veteran attacks, I never used them when they *were* all working, too much endurance for too little damage for my tastes, on a scrapper at least.

Two of them. Quick and Slide.

Slide is from the CoH Deluxe box, and Quick I think is another one that arrived as part of a bug (memory's a little hazy on that nowadays) way back when.

I've not gotten round to claiming the other Veteran prestige sprints, just like I've not gotten round to claiming a good few other veteran powers. The character works to my satisfaction as it is, so I'm too bone idle to fiddle with it...

Power Slide isn't a Vet Sprint, so I wasn't counting that. Quick is only available as a CoH Pre-Order Bonus (provided you pre-ordered at the right store), or a Vet Reward. When you claim that reward, it gives you all four CoH Pre-Order Sprints: Dash, Quick, Rush, and Surge.

I know that, but as I said, Quick arrived as the result of a bug. That's not the only toon of mine that's got Quick without having the other prestige sprints.

I can't remember what the bug was or when it happened, but that's how I got it without the others.

It was relatively widespread, I think it may have been back in I6 or I7, and a load of people I was playing with got it, too. I don't know if it was EU only, or whether it hit the US servers too, though.

Once the glitch that was granting the power was fixed, I think it was more effort than it was worth to remove the power from the people who'd gotten it.

And I'm not sure I count it as 'lucky', just a matter of having played for too damn long

Hmm... if it was that far back, then it was a Vet Reward bug, since they didn't exist until I8 (could have sworn it was I9, but the Wiki says I8). Maybe that's when you got it, I8. Sooo long ago... Sometimes it's hard to remember what came with what issue.

I vaguly remember various issues with people getting rewards they weren't supposed to, but I never did. Ah well. Que serĂ¡ serĂ¡.
