The New Willy Wonka doesn't work, I take it? I've never seen it so I don't know.

I wish I knew who used the Outlaw Josey Wales quote in their neg rep hit. They may not possess enough character to actually sign their insult, but it was an enjoyable one.

Terrible idea. They're called "veteran" rewards for a reason.

Waiting your turn, like everyone else did, for veteran costume rewards isn't going to hurt anyone or ruin the game for them.

The new Willy Wonka movie just lacks the soul of the original.

In this case, veruca doesn't sing "I want it now" and the Oompa Loompa song for her is just... lame.

Edit:
Actually the best scene of the whole movie is this (and the brief look at the puppet burn ward later in the movie):

If it comes on T.V. watch it once. I don't think it is even worth renting, but that is a matter of opinion.

Giving the powers as an option to obtain to newer players isn't going to hurt anyone or ruin the game for the people that have them.

I'm only a 15 month vet and I still don't support this. Looking forward to getting my next reward keeps me in the game, even though I know there's a good chance that the game is going to be abandoned before I reach the highest ones

Please show your evidence that supports your outrageous claim. We want to see the reports that were generated by an unbiased third party company that conducted the marketing research which confirms that people are saying they would buy this game if only they had access to all the vet reward powers.

We even want to see the reports that show people are refusing to buy this game because they don't have access to the vet reward powers.

Okay so you're still focused on the travel power reward huh? The following shows that there are options besides vet rewards or taking dedicated powers:

Real money options:
Mini-booster: Temporary 30 Day Jetpack $5, 30 real days unlimited flight power on all characters on the account.
Super Booster IV: Martial Arts grants Ninja Run, level 4 onward on all characters.
Good Vs Evil in-game pack (or if the account doesn't have it, the full GvE edition): Pocket D Teleport and Jump Jet (though that is only 30 seconds at a time.)

30 real days temp powers:
Christmas Event (for candy canes) or Holiday cheer (random): 30 real days Jingle Jet unlimited flight power.

30 minute Temp powers:
Siren's Call: you can buy Flight, Teleport, or Super Leap from the Siren's Call mercenaries if your faction is winning the zone.

Non-consecutive lasting temp powers:
Level 1 onward, park your character in either Firebase Zulu (or other Shadow Shard) or Grandville for a max 30 minute (renewable) Jetpack. Get the Commuter or Pilot day job badges to refuel at any train station or Arachnos flier as well.
Level 1 onward go to Firebase Zulu or Grandville and purchase a Jetpack for 10,000 Inf.
Level 5-9 (50-50 chance at level 10), or with help do the Atlas Park Safeguard or Mayhem mission: Reward is a 2 hour Jetpack. (Can get once per character.)
Level 11-14 (50-50 chance at level 10 or 15), or with help do the Kings Row Safeguard or Mayhem mission: Reward is a 2 hour Jump Jet. (Can get once per character.)
Level 15-19 Villains - Steal a Goldbricker's Rocket Pack: 90 minutes of flight.
Level 20-24 Villains - Sky Raider Flight Pack 60 minutes of flight. (You can flash back to get this multiple times.)
Level 25 onward for both sides: Ouroborus Portal

Introduced with Issue 17:
The second of the new Positron's TFs has a Jet Pack as well.

All these options are available to all players.

As for other temp powers, see this list:
http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Temp_Powers

The options are there, you just have to see them.

Give Bill a break. With his avatar's head at that angle he can't be expected to read every post correctly . . . especially at his age.

As Aggelakis pointed out, it is in the 2nd entry in the "Non-consecutive lasting temp powers" list.

For a small fee (say 19.99) someone could increase their veteran status to the most current setting. I think that allowing everyone in the game to possess all of the veteran abilities would be a good thing at this point.
Don't worry the dev's have something in place. At no extra cost. You can get from 18 months to 72 with no problem. Just wait for it. The vet reward system is not new to CoX.

Started the game with out vet rewards, I have a second account with little to no vet rewards, I feel the difference. Still I believe Veteran Rewards should be earned. New players have some advantages we did not when the game started. Alot that we have now they did not have to wait for. Let the new players wait for their Vet Rewards.

It has nothing to do with being dumb, it has to do with how some people have serious entitlement issues. To them the idea that they are going to be treated like everyone else before them is offensive.

ok... for the newblets who just dont get it and think purchasable vet rewards are a great idea.... Let me introduce my best Friend Anology. Anology, please help them understand...

Anology: "Thank you Nezz. Ok newbies... Can you honestly say this wouldnt piss you off....
You been working for a company for 20 years. You worked your way to a nice office on the 5th floor, top of the building. You have a nice pay earning top dollars an hour, way better than the 10 you started out with years ago. Something you earned by hours of hard work and late nights which was rewarded with pay raises for your good work and loyalty to the company. Then one day, Charlie here just starts out out... He bribes the head boss with $20 and now charlie on the first day has a nice new office right by you and making just as much... Not only that, he may even surpass you because he keeps passing the boss $20's here and there which the boss really loves."

Thank you, Anology. You can go now.

Yes, it wouldnt be Game Breaking, but it sure as hell will piss a lot of people off. Me one of them. I should hope to God the Devs are not THAT dumb. Like others have sai, its a reward for time played. Nothing more, nothing less. Get over it now. Its not gonna happen.

I've just started on my third month playing this game, and 22nd of June, I get my trenchcoats for all characters. Somthing I've been looking forward to. Now whilst I'm one of these buggers with a credit card who has purchased all booster packs and the Mac SE item pack, I would not want to see the vet rewards become purchasable.

However, I do agree with changing it to a points system. Because while I look forward to getting the 15 month wings reward, I'm not too keen on the greek alphabet or the boxing costume kit, I know some are but I'm not.

You should earn say 15 points per month. Costume peices cost 15 points, perma powers cost 30 points, 45 points and 60 points, depending on how prestigeous they are.

Having a reward system like that would certainly make me stay

No actually it wouldn't. Once you've used your points to cherry pick your favorite vet rewards you'll be left with looking at six years of nothing you like. Then you'll be right back here b****in and moaning that there's nothing for you to spend your points on.

Not if those points could also be spent on caricature slots, transfer tokens and other things that would be useful.
