You forgot Wimpeys (Englands answer to McD), used to love a Wimpeys burger and proper chips... Yes CHIPS not French fries.

You'e never done Europe truley till you been to a glastonbury festival, trust me. I went in '92. I passed my drivers test, bought an old banger for 50 quid down at Deptford Auction in South London, gathered four of me mates and a tent that could barely fit three in and drove there with a few 80's compilation tapes. The road trip of a life time, when we got there, car broke down, got the engine going then it started to rain so the feild was muddy. Had to get some hippies in a VW transporter to tow us out of the mud LOL!!!
What a weekend though.
Europe is great, but get over to Glastonbury during the festival weekend, You'll never regret it. -
Some great artwork there Red Fire
I'd love to see your vision of my main, Wytchranger, my AR/MM Blaster.
Here are some screenies
Thanks -

I like lot of your ideas, I certainly like the Assassins theme pack, although I think the powers should be a ranged one, like a Sniper rifle single shot, not as powerful as a AR Blasters Sniper's shot, one that can somehow debuff a foe. Would be great for Stalkers.
I'd like to see the Future tech pack with a few jetpack back details added, would mean that natural or tech origins can have a device that allows them to use the fly power with some flare other than using the crafted Tech Wings.
Some good ideas here, my wife thought so too, she liked the pink text -
Quote:Okay, my apologies, I don't have internet access at work, and I've been posting on my phone all day, and emotes don't show, the code for them are just two white squaresYou were not making a suggestion, nor were you setting me straight in the previous response to me. Your post was intended to be teasingly humorous and laced with sexual innuendo.
I responded by teasing you right back, and I included the silly stuck out tongue emote to emphasize that I was indeed teasing.
Now being unable to deal with my turning your teasing around you, you have decided to take it as a personal attack and now are pretending to the martyred victim by implying I'm the big bad bully picking on you instead of pointing out the flaw in your original contribution to the suggestion. Which is a blatant falsehood.
Your idea:
And my counter-argument:
And as everyone can see we both used the word "You" in the same fashion as a collective number to represent a group of people rather than a single person, however, only one of us (Nite Wraith) chose to take it personally.
You might want to consider taking a break from posting if your response to criticism and light hearted wordplay is defensiveness and hostility.
So, I didn't know you were just teasing. Sorry for being defensive.
I do understand what you're saying, you can't please everyone of course, and as long as these suggestion forums are open there's always going to be people wanting change to suit them, and there's going to be counter arguments.
I do like the vet rewards and don't believe it should be removed and made purchasable, I just think that it could be done to please the majority. -
How am I ******** and moaning? I'm making a suggestion and setting you straight. If anyone is moaning and whining it's you for the way you objected to my post and now you're trying to pick a fight with me. If you don't like my idea, just say so, don't try and start somthing.
-
Quote:I'm sorry, do you know me? No, you don't. So don't assume that I'm a moaner, I am but I moan about stuff a lot more important than issues with this game. Thank youNo actually it wouldn't. Once you've used your points to cherry pick your favorite vet rewards you'll be left with looking at six years of nothing you like. Then you'll be right back here b****in and moaning that there's nothing for you to spend your points on.
I'm sure the devs will come up with more goodies to spend points on as time goes on. And using them to buy rename tokens, server transfers and character slots, as suggested in the last post would also be a good incentive instead of paying for them with real world money. -
I've just started on my third month playing this game, and 22nd of June, I get my trenchcoats for all characters. Somthing I've been looking forward to. Now whilst I'm one of these buggers with a credit card who has purchased all booster packs and the Mac SE item pack, I would not want to see the vet rewards become purchasable.
However, I do agree with changing it to a points system. Because while I look forward to getting the 15 month wings reward, I'm not too keen on the greek alphabet or the boxing costume kit, I know some are but I'm not.
You should earn say 15 points per month. Costume peices cost 15 points, perma powers cost 30 points, 45 points and 60 points, depending on how prestigeous they are.
Having a reward system like that would certainly make me stay -
Quote:I can live with that, London/New York mentality
Your Result: The Northeast
Judging by how you talk you are probably from north Jersey, New York City, Connecticut or Rhode Island. Chances are, if you are from New York City (and not those other places) people would probably be able to tell if they actually heard you speak. -
I'm not even gonna' comment on my opinion of Football managers, players win the matches not the managers.
Anyway, what do I know, My team is a League 1 team, maybe a champions leage team if all goes well on Saturday -
Quote:Exactly! It seems to me that you're attempting to explain why your hero loses the ability to fly for a time after coming to the Earth of the CoH Universe.
Pseudoscience, here we come...
His species are naturally adaptive, and possess human-level curiosity, which has driven them to the exploration of many other worlds, and seeing multiple alternative cultures. Physically, they fit approximately within the range of human norm, with the exception of large wings. Their bodies are constructed of a complex bio-adaptive substance which does the job bone and muscle would in humans. This adaptivity allows their body density to be altered as well as their effective "muscle" strength. It takes a relatively short time for their body to evolve to suit a particular planetary gravitational field and atmospheric density, but over the course of a few weeks they will again regain the ability to fly.
Since this is pseudoscience fudging, there's no need to explain what happens when they go to a world with vastly different gravity and atmosphere to Earth, because all of the worlds thus far visited in CoH are Earthlike. Even the Shadow Shard. But feel free to build on that for an explanation.
tl;dr No "normal" skeleto-muscular system will allow you to do what you want. So make up an abnormal one.
I think the 'gas' idea was maybe a bit scientific, me trying too hard to make it belivable, I call that the Dark Knight Syndrome
I wanted to steer away from the 'lighter than earth gravity' because it would make them physically weaker than Humans when they arrived on Earth, in which case they wouldn't beable to stand, let alone fly.
Prehaps I should just forget the whole thing and say he can just fly.
There are other factors that need working on with this backstory, maybe I'll think of somthing along the way.
Thanks for the comments -
Thanks for the responses guys, and I think the 'gas' needs an explination.
The gas itself (have yet to come up with a name) is like a supercharged version of Helium, which as you know is lighter than air. The wings on these people help to lift them from the ground and propell the through the air, and a lungfull of this gas can almost half the bodyweight, so not much effort is required to fly on their homeworld, (Most of the life forms on this world is winged and can fly. Avian creatures are worshipped) and the constant breathing keeps them from flying out of the atmosphere and dying.
On Earth however, this gas isn't present in the atmosphere, just oxygen and all the other crap we've poured into it, unfortunatley, none of them is lighter than air so when he arrived on Earth, he found that he couldn't fly at all, all he could do is push himself upwards a few feet higher than an average human can jump (please note, the average height of these people is around 7'9, my character is just over 8 foot tall, and they're extremely strong)
However, after 14 weeks (1 Level per week, not me leveling up, but just so people understand that he couldn't fly even though he had wings. I could change this to days) of hard training and determination (His people are warriors, therefore extremely discaplined when it comes to training, plus their bodies are adaptable) he learns to make do without the gas and strengthens the muscles in his wings.
I hope this explains -
I've just started rolling a Tanker I'd like to start RPing with, and I've come up with a backstory.
Basically, he's inspired by Hawkman from D.C. Universe (Natural Inv/WM Tanker with wings and some armour)
He's from another planet, a scout for his people's military to assess weather or not Earth poses a threat to his kind. To cut a long story short, he decides Earth poses no threat and could actually make a valuable ally. Inspired by the likes of Statesman and Positron, he decides to stay on Earth and help by fighting crime (somthing which does not exist on his homeworld). I also want to explain his powers, most importantly, why he can't fly untill Level 14. I've come up with a fairly decent solution but I want to ask the more experienced RPers if this is doable?
Okay. He arrives on Earth and finds out he can't fly, after scanning the atmosphere using his ship's sensors. He detects a lack of a gas that is present in his own world's atmosphere, and without it he cannot fly straight away. However after fourteen weeks of training and practice his body adapts to the lack of atmosphere and he can then fly as effortless as he could back on his homeworld.
I was going to documentate it like this:
1st Week: an run slightly faster than humans, and his wings can propell him into a high jump (Sprint)
4th Week: Can run much more faster and jump much higher than he could when he arrived, has gained a lot of his agility back (Ninja Run)
12th Week: Can now fly but extremly slowley compared to flying back on his own homeworld, but can hover mid air indefinatley (Hover)
14th Week: After much physcal training and practice, he can now fly in Earth's atmosphere as effortlessly as he can in his own atmosphere.
Does this sound feesable, or does it step on any of the game's Lore? -
Quote:I have to say, quite amazing use of editing tools, and the music was perfect. He makes your music awesome. City of Heroes music needs some pizzaz. You might want to see if this fan will help in that department.

For all other fans that have not seen this epicness. Enjoy!!
I saw this video searching for a Thundercats orchestral theme. Made me come back and check the CoH progress. KUDOS guys 6 years...that makes you and Blizzard the only two teams to have an MMO survive past 04' without needing to go Free to Play or cancel the game. GRATS!!
I have renewed my sub thanks to this guys video. The youtube video on the re-inventing a super hero made me realize that Paragon IS the only gaming company that pushes what they can do with the money they receive, rather than do just what is required to keep subs flowing like blizzard does...either that or Blizzard can't program things that allow the community to interact (highly doubt this). As a Blizzard fanboy, concider these HUGE compliments to your company. You began with just 24 people!? That is even more amazing.
Another person that helped sell me back into this game was Samuraiko and her vids.
It is funny watching the artist over at Champions Online struggle with programing and handling the pressure that an MMO community brings. I wish them the best, but CoH, despite the out dated character models and some textures, is the ONLY real superhero game out on the market that catches the essence of comics such as Crisis on Infinite Earths, Secret Invasion, and soon Civil War.
So thanks guys for not settling for mediocrity and instead striving for uniqueness and programming advances.
I think the devs should employ this guy, he obviously has talent in this field. -
Would be a damn good idea if you could have civvies walking around, even ruuning around like headless chickens in some indoor, could be an option you could add to the Map choice screen
-
I normally do a round of the city hall carpark at Atlas Park before going to see the first contact. Gets me in the mood and levels me to 3 or 4, depending on how many rounds I decide to do or what AT I've made.
Redside, Breakout, Snakehunt till L4 then Kalenda.
I've never done a streetsweep in a team though (is somewhat still new to the game) but it sounds fun. -
Quote:/this on so many levels. This is an excellent idea as long as it's as accessible on all the major mobile platforms and not just iPhone via some app.
I use a Nokia E71, it's not brilliant, but I can access and post in these forums. However because the damn thing is so slow at loading up pages compared to my PC I rarley post.
Having a mobile friendly version would be awesome. But as long as they remember that iPhones aren't the only smartphones out there. -
Quote:OMD!!!!! (Oh My Darwin) was that sarcasm or an invite LOL!!!???Nite Wrath will be here all week and don't forget to tip your waitresses and bartenders everybody!
Anyway, whats with the arguing over a damn number? What if it was 911 instead of 666, would people be arguing over that?
If it was an in-joke, it was subtle, and kudos to the OP for spotting it. -

Extremely annoying when it happens, esspecially when you level up in mission to an even level and want to train a new power. Drives me up the wall. -
Quote:Personally, I thought it was hilarious, as funny as my Athiest version of the 'When god was giving out brains, you were in the toilet' insult. You're right. I hear a lot of christians have a problem with the science origin.
Edit: If you don't think that was funny, you can go burn somewhere that will probably be censored.

Okay you twisted my arm"When Evolution was writing the human genetic code it got to you and made a typo!!"... BOOM BOOM...
No? Oh alright then -

Quote:I'm already at that age, mate. 35, married with a full time job, only stuck to my desk chair. All I can say, 17-31, best years of my life, no regrets.Thats the way i look at it too
When im old and stuck to me armchair, then i want to be able to look back and remember all the wild and crazy nights!
Enjoy 'em why they last. -
Quote:Well it all depends on what your tied to and what your tied up with. Silk Scarfs to somthing soft ain't so bad. Iron Shackles to somthing not so soft, then it's an 'Oh Crap' moment... But still a sign of a good night outOr wake-up in a cell which DOESN'T belong to the police...
That's generally uh-oh time -
Quote:Thats the sign of a good night outPurple rain are LUSH!
They're cocktails which taste like those parma violets sweets
VK blues are more a end of night drink where your drunk already and just want to keep at that level. I know my limits where if i keep drinking "heavy drinks" then i'll get to a state which usually ends up with me ringing people in the morning saying sorry
These are normal cardiffian drinksIf you haven't got to phone up people to apologise or you wake up in a familiar place then it's a quiet night.
Of course if you wake up in a police cell covered in bruises then you've had too much of a good time
