Ninja Run Request

Well I was going to post this in dev. forum, but they won't let anyone add a thread there.

I would like to suggest that the devs grant us the option to have the ninja run graphic on all the time, but no effect unless we activate the power. I love the look, but it drains a lot and turns off every time I activate the super leap or super speed powers.

So who here wants the ninja run animation on all the time?

I know I don't. But I see a lot of people running it in combat anyways, despite the endurance cost. I am not entirely sure why this is. Maybe I just keep teaming with noobs?

As an aside, seeing your name below the thread title made me read "Ninja Milk Run" on the first pass. Just thought I'd let you know.

I don't like the look unless it's a ninja or some other kind of sword wielder using it. Otherwise it just looks silly.

Uh, which dev forum are you talking about? Am confoozled.

i wouldn't mind a "ninja run stance", but i don't think the game coding currently supports it, and i don't consider it important enough to spend a lot of time making. Maybe make a zero endurance, zero movement boost, zero movement suppression, but otherwise identical to Ninja Run "Ninja Walk" toggle.

i make stuff...

My Warshade uses Ninja Run when entering a battle. It allows him to drop (quite literally) in on a group that he's just hit with a Knockback power (now turned knockdown thanks to being above them). However, I usually turn it off right after that. But, there are times when I like the flippy jump animation during a fight...or the fight is over about the time he lands.

I'd rather they just make the power slottable.

Actually, try using it with a Dual Pistols character when they have the pistols out. Looks suprisingly awesome. (Even better if the guns have laser sights)

I heard somewhere that stances like this one were in the works. I don't know whether that's true or not, but if it isn't, I'd like it to be true.

Is it just me then that thinks the Ninja Run stance makes it look like everyone is about to sneeze?

I used to hate the look of Ninja run.... until I finally broke down and bought it. I wouldn't mind having it as a permanent stance on my dp blaster, nb stalker, and my shield scrap :O

Or because it's just fun to jump in the air and flip during a fight?

I wish it would just run with Combat Jumping like it does with Hover

I intensely dislike the look of ninja run - although I do love the power itself for lowbie characters. It's also useful getting around in caves but I think it looks more hammy than Dick Dastardly in his prime.

I'll pass on that thanks.

While I use it and love it for my ninja characters and one or two others, it doesn't fit at all for most of my guys and I wouldn't want it on them.

If you look at the bottom of this page, then you'll see where it says "• Four stance emotes".

No details are known yet, AFAIK, about exactly *what* the stances are going to be, but they're part of the Going Rogue 'Super Shiny' edition and the upgrade Booster for those who prepurchased Going Rogue 'Not so Super Shiny' edition.

IMO the only BAD thing about Ninja Run are the stances - both the running position and the standing still position. I still use the power because it is awesome, but I feel personally embarassed every time I do because the running animation and idle stances look so stupid.

MY suggestion? Give me an opportunity to use a "Beast Run" animation and "Beast Crouch" stance with this power and I would be about 75% less displeased. Give me the power to also use a normal run animation and normal idle stance and I will be 100% pleased.

The bonus pack for GR said it came with four stances. But not clear if they stances like ninja run or actually just an idle pose. Somehow i think it's the latter :|

Ninja run looks pretty cool imo, specially on shield chars, chars with a long weapon (nemesis staff, stone mallet etc) and looks absolutely the best for dual pistols (and spines+ claws). For other chars i doesn't seem to fit that well, but it's a very good travel power for low levels!

Not just noobs. I've got a few toons -- one DP blaster specifically, but also a claws stalker and a few others as well -- that I've worked to mitigate their endurance issues just so I can keep NR on as much as possible. Love the backflip. Love the frontflip. They make for much more dynamic battles, especially if you practice a move-around-while-fighting style. Granted, there are times keeping NR on means I have to slow down a bit, but that's a small sacrifice for those awesome flips.

My biggest problem with NR -- the idle stance, hunkered over with your arm all goofy, stuck out in front of you. I actually turn OFF my NR when I'm idle (at the auction or trainer), but will turn it back ON just before battle.

Because it's just that cool.

Yeah really, what's this about noobs? My DP Blaster has hardly any end issues period, so she's been known to Ninjarunflip around unnecessarily too. Great for solo street-sweeping as a nice change. I don't play this game to be efficient, I play to look awesome and be entertained. There some super-seekrit bonus for having the most end during a mission or something? If you have enough, who cares.

I'd sign for the OP.

Yeah, I really wish it would work alongside Super Speed (for the +jump) and/or Combat Jumping (for the +Run speed). My only real dislike of it is the stationary pose. While the running animation doesnt fit all my characters, on the ones it does, it looks great. I wish I could get the jump+flip on pretty much all my characters, with a slight modification- there needs to be a higher cieling for when the flip kicks in- right now it happens if you jump higher than your head, which is fairly often, I'd like it to get bumped to to at least 10ft, maybe more like 20ft.

I won't argue that. The flip is pretty cool.

My comment was more "I have been teaming with a lot of noobs lately, and some of them may not understand the end cost associated with Ninja Run" rather than "all people that run Ninja Run in combat are noobs".

Ditto here. I do quite like it when my character is in motion, but when idle and when in combat (as my characters spend more time doing attack animations than returning to the ninja run pose) I definitely turn it off.

(Apparently I am coming off as an "arrogant elitist jerk" in this thread. I guess all of my practicing in the mirror is paying off!

Also, there was some rather uncalled-for comments about my father attached to that message, and unfortunately you guys have to deal with me complaining about it because I have no other way to contact my anonymous non-fan).

So, why apposed to the individuals who DO like it? Or are you just looking for a fight?
