Rewards commensurate with the difficulty of the Incarnate content will also be part of the system. Going Rogue will include a single Incarnate level, with the level cap of 10 to be introduced in Issue 19 later this year.
With GR only 1 level of Incarnate will be available until I19 drops. And even then, it will only be 10 incarnate levels. Not the same as raising the level cap to 60. Similar, but not the same.

Just wanted to make sure that was clear before people go on making up rumors and the like.

because it makes no sense to give out all the info on something if it isn't going to work correctly and have to pull it last minuet.

So where is this info coming from, PAX East?

Edit: Nevermind, I just used Search-Fu and found that yes, the info IS from PAX East.

Not to mention there's no need to give the competition any more advanced warning than necessary. CO's out there and DCUO is still under development (which, honestly, is in the better position to take good ideas and respin them).

Go look at the STO forums for the answer to this question. Every single time the STO devs release detailed info about upcoming releases and sales their forums collapse into a festering cesspool of venom and bile.

Keep the trolls in the dark. They can complain all they want after the stuff is released. They'll do it then anyway.

While no real info was given beyond the name and the fact that there are new powers, the devs seemed careful to talk about "Incarnate Level 10" instead of "Level 60".

That leads me to think that the incarnate system will not increase your actual level that affects tohit, damage, health, etc.

I'm guessing that it's like Doc says. We'll have our security level, and then our incarnate level. I'm guessing an advancement without actually boosting our stats in the same way a level-up does.

My theory on this is simple: Go Play Planetside

You had both Level Experience and Command Experience. Level Experience was gained for doing "stuff" in the game. Command Experience was granted for your team-mates having done stuff, and for being in command when an enemy base fell.

The actual system worked well enough in Planetside, so my suspicion is, based on what we know so far, is that the Incarnate system will be similar. I can see rewards for completing in-game challenges like Task Forces contributing to Incarnate Levels.

Or EQ's AA levels - in that game, AAs (alternate advancement) were merely abilities you could pick up via spending XP on them although some had a minimum level.

Or DAoC's realm ranks, master levels (perfectly fine idea, but raid gated PvE advancement was the wrong implementation for a RvR focused game) and champion levels.

Kinda like Base & Job Levels in RO? I can handle that.

I hope you didn't choose that one for yourself, you couldn't cut through a paper bag with your wit!

Heh, that is a great comic

Sounds awesome!

My only complaint though is that for the purely-tech/natural oriented characters to become incarnates would mean they would ultimately end up with magic origins underneath it all story-wise. Maybe I'm just nitpicking though...

From what I heard on one of the vids from the presentation. Endgame system only available if you get Going Rogue. No Going Rogue, Incarnate level/powers for you. GR will have the first level and powers. I19 the other 9 levels.

I'm guessing that powers/slots unlocked for Incarnate levels are the only ones you can pick at those levels. You can't add slots to that power you picked at 49 or pick powers from your current primary/secondary/aux/patron power sets. This may extend to enhancements that can only be slotted into those powers.

Kinetic Melee looked interesting but if people complain about the powers with long attack animations or the DBZ character invasion during the early years, you aren't going to be a happy camper. If the Level 9 power sounds like a Spirit Bomb I will be disappointed. Ryo Street Fighter attacks also apply.

Kinda like sam-san, il-san, and ee-san from Nexus?

I never realized how many games had a similar system. Should be interesting.
