    New Travel Pools

You know, I always imagined that alternate travel power animations would be a good idea... Perhaps tunneling could be a form of teleportation? Choose your end point, dig here, pop out there!

Although in the air it just wouldn't look right... Maybe a separate set with similar mechanics to teleport, but just on surfaces would be better.
  2. Okay, so let's say you've spent a lot of time leveling one character, but after a while, you start getting tired of some unchangable fact about it... Perhaps your first healer, that archery/empathy defender you've had sitting there for years only made it to about level 30 because you realized that after the novelty of being a healer wears off, you stop liking archery that much... Or one of the many energy-energy blasters you've got up to level 32 from different time periods has got to go...

Therefore, let the deletio-cutioner start sharpening that axe...

But what about all of those badges you got on that character? Not to mention certain seasonal bonuses you've held onto as keepsakes... But most of all, did you REALLY spend all that time it took to level that character, just so that it could all come to nothing by being deleted one day?

It shouldn't be, I say! Which is why I've come up with a possible solution!

*white sheet comes flying off of the odd-shaped lump under it*

Behold! Character Achievement Transference! Instead of having that deleted character become a waste of time, it is made so that every time a character is deleted, all of their experience, rare recipes and other scarce goodies are all salvaged into a sort of "treasure box", so to speak.

These are basically little virtual boxes of stuff that a deleted character has left behind. They cannot be copied or applied to an already made character. You can, however, make one (And ONLY one) new character with all of these things applied to it.

You can't take certain things out of the 'box' and give it to other characters, like, say give Deleted-Man's XP to Captain Newb and his influence to Lowbie Man. The 'benefactor' character gets the whole pack of stuff.

    "But Sparx! That's game-breaking!"

*Gives complainer a boot to the head*

Tell me what's so game-breaking about it!

    "...I don't know... But I'm sure there's a reason they haven't done it yet!"

Alright then... Any comments on this mechanic? Will it work or not? And if not, why not?

    'Till then!

    extra lvls

    Sounds awesome!

My only complaint though is that for the purely-tech/natural oriented characters to become incarnates would mean they would ultimately end up with magic origins underneath it all story-wise. Maybe I'm just nitpicking though...

  6. Well, my computer has no PCI-e port... Only AGP and normal PCI... Are there any suggestions with that in mind?
  7. The title's self-explanatory. How will the performance of this card be for Ultra Mode, assuming anyone has any knowledge of Ultra Mode's requirements as of yet?
  8. Nevermind, I fixed the problem! Thanks for your help so far. It seems there was an uninstallation program in one of my folders that I didn't notice, so I ran that and now the game runs fine.
  9. I recently installed a rather cheap graphics tablet (or pen tablet, if you will), and later tried to play CoH. However, it got stuck on that little loading bar that floats in the middle of the desktop. I remembered hearing that some graphics tablets interfere with the game, and uninstalled the drivers. However, the game still isn't working. Is there anything I forgot to do?

-Note, the tablet was a Medion P46000 with MacroKeys, which leaves no uninstallation program on the hard drive. I had to manually go into the windows 32 system folder and delete the drivers manually before actually realizing that there was in fact an uninstall program on the disc. I ran that program afterwards, and the game still doesn't work.

    ---EDIT----
    Issue resolved... Nevermind! ^^;

  11. You know those heroes who work in groups all the time? The ones you never find without their partners in crime-fighting? Power Rangers, Charlie's Angels, Yuna, Riku and Paine? The list goes on...

Unfortunately, when it comes to making characters of your own who are intended to be members of an elite band of superheroes like that, you're stuck with one of two options:

One: You make the leader character, and get some others to join you in your little group, but those kinds of things rarely work out. Plus, if you made up all of the heroes of your little circle, chances are the others aren't exactly going to play them the way that you envisioned them, and no one wants anyone else telling them how to play their character...

Two: You make alts of every other group member. The only problem is, this way they never can meet, and a superteam of members that never fight together... well, that's no team at all...

So, how would we implement characters like this in game realistically? If only we could combine the two somehow...

    *LIGHTBULB!*

How about a new epic AT? =D

Here's how it'll work: Basically, you create custom characters (up to maybe three or four?) that you can command around like mastermind pets. However, you can switch control between them and rename them all on the fly. The official name you will have for /tells and such will be your group name. Also, you can pick any power you want for each of them to use, as long as they're from the same archetype and powersets you pick at the beginning.

    "But Sparx! That's cheating!"

    *Boot to the head!*

No it's not! And I'll tell you why: You can only certain powers assigned to certain "members", which means that if you want a team of three characters for example, you can divide the whole powerset into three mini-sets for each member. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd tier powers go to the first member only, 4th, 5th, and 6th tier powers go to the second member, and so on.

    "But Sparx! That's still cheating!"

    *Another boot to the head!*

Again, it's not! Because the whole team shares damage and endurance, so it doesn't matter which character you hit, you still do the same amount of damage so that it's not like a team of three tanks coming at you all at once. Plus, only one team member can attack at a time.

"But Sparx! That sucks! If three enemies come after each member at once, then you'll have three times as much damage as normal! This is the worst idea you've ever--

*Another boot to the head!* Oh, for crying out loud...

First of all, the other teammates aren't exactly attackable by enemies. However, they can't stray too far away from the leader either.

"Then what's the use? Why would I make a trio character when I can keep things a lot less complicated with a single character!? >=( "

    ...

Well, for starters, we'd have more epic missions, and I haven't entirely thought up a specific bonus to make playing this EAT unique gameplay-wise... Perhaps specific powers that are group-themed?

Feel free to contribute to this and share your opinions!
  12. I wonder why I never get picked for beta... I've been with the game since like Issue 2 and I've never been in a closed beta for an Issue before. w/e, if I'm not picked for this one, I'll just wait for open beta.
