Potential Difficulties with the New Updater

As an FYI if you updated before the EU update server was restarted, you may need to follow the below directions posted by Rent_. (tested and they do work)

Translated version of the instructions are on the way however feel free to translate for your fellow players.

The Updater seems to be doing something now after finding the correct copy...

EDIT: Problem now fixed. Due to a previous PC virus incident I had 2 copies of the CoHUpdater. Changing the second one to the proper .eu suffix it now works! Thankfully. No idea what that weird update was above. I'm guessing it was not intended...

Niviene thanks for the update, but I am getting REALLY frustrated cause i believe i've f***** up the entire thing, there is one version of the updater I am unable to delete. And I've been online for over an hour and still I cannot play the game. I am but a simple user of a computer, now I do what?

Yes, i followed the steps, made all the arrangements, the game ran smoothly until i've made the mistake to close it and restart my system..

Since that? Same issue.. I've followed the entire process over and over again, and the game just fails to load..

What's next, i wonder? Not being able to play until the new issue, or saying a prayer that the fix will "work" with my PC every time i start my computer?

I know that not everyone has this issue, but a fix is in order don't you agree?

I am getting very fed up with NCSoft/Paragon.

phew I was getting crazy here thought i was the only one for whom it doesn't work anymore. What do i do now, Should I uninstall an reinstall (having an old version so that's gonna take a while)?

I want to play this game and not waste my precious leisure time doing this stuff!

I've just got in again I renamed my updater file then renamed the updater.new file to cohupdater.eu.exe and it works.

I hope I don't have to do this each and everytime I want to play

done all this and it gets to connecting all fine the it goes to checking updater then is stuck! wont move on from checking updater what else can i do!

Because you've changed the updater you may have to allow it access on your firewall program. That might be stopping the connect.

If it's not that, then contact support. They'll be quick today as it's a high priority known issue.

It's friday evening an due to a lack of comunication, it's taken like 5 hours to get this thing sorted, an my loader is still fixing files....

If everything had gone to plan the "new updater" should have been downloaded automaticly and replaced your old one. There was nothing you had to manually do.

Hmmm... does it look any different? I updated my Test client last night but didn't notice a change in the updater.

I managed to get it working on my windows box by copying test server updater over but in my WINE install it was borked. I figured it'd be easier to just delete and download the entire game again during a day but I can't seem to find a download link now. Anyone got one?

Thusfar none of the fixes mentioned here work for me. This is not a strictly-EU problem, as I'm in the US. Running Windows XP. I'd go through the pain of trashing and redownloading the entire thing if I believed it would solve the problem, but I'm getting no indication that it will. Furthermore, since the updater itself is now inoperable, it seems to me that NCsoft is not going to be able to fix anything from their end.

I've gotta tell you, with the weekend upon us, this is pretty aggravating.
