  1. With the end approaching and the population dwindling, I'm growing more and more sad about all the content I haven't experienced yet. I've been playing nearly since the beginning of CoH, but I've always been a casual player. I've only played some of the Task Forces and not much of the newer content (which I hear is quite good).

I'm posting here to ask for a couple things.
-Suggestions of "must see" content... Things I really should experience before the shut down.
-People to play through this content with. With the online population so much smaller now, I haven't been able to find many people to team with, let alone put together a full Task Force.

I have many characters on most of the servers (though few 50s), and I have character transfers to get desired characters to other servers if there's still a strong population base somewhere. I have a lot of free time this week (except for Thursday & Friday) and some next week. I can be on most any time of day.

Anyone willing to help me enjoy the game I haven't seen before it's gone?

    Thank you.

  2. I did my first story arc long ago, published it, then didn't see a single play. I finally decided to dig back into it, and AE in general (since I love the concept), and found I'd fallen victim to the censor filter issue. Fine... mine was an easy fix. Upon testing the arc, I found some roughness I want to work out before republishing. However, as AE design is clunky and often mystifies me, I thought I'd better ask the community's help.

    1. Rescued Hostages: My hostages, once rescued, stand in place and don't run away, which I'd prefer. I didn't see a setting for it, but I think I've seen fleeing hostages in other missions. How can I set them to run away?

    2. Also Rescued Hostages: Currently, all rescued hostages say the say thing, which sounds a little dumb after the first couple. Is there a way to get them to select a random phrase from a list of possibilities, or do I need to create each hostage as a single encounter and give it a unique dialog text? ...or is there another solution?

    3. Collected Objects: I have a lot of a specific "collected" object in one mission for effect. Collecting them is not required for mission completion. Is there a way to make them not produce the "collectable object tone"?

    4. Also Collected Objects: Is there a way to make collected objects "unspawn" or disappear under a condition?

    5. Destructible Object/Ambush: I have 2 ambushes set to go off at 1/4 and 3/4 damage of a destructible object. Strangely, the second one spawns but the first one doesn't. Any ideas why?

    6. New Mission Objective: Finally, I thought I'd read somewhere that a new mission objective can initiate after completion of a particular objective, but I can't seem to figure out how to set it up. Is it possible?

Thanks for any help you can offer.
  3. I've got to chime in on this, it's a great idea. As a lover of movie soundtracks, I'm kind of surprised/ashamed I didn't think of it myself in any concrete way. I'll need to contemplate what to use for my arc.

    Voila, problem solved!

    Thanks,
Might you mean "texVWorld1.pigg"? I don't have a "texWorldV1.pigg" in my folder. (Just don't want to delete the wrong file.)
  5. While I was posting my problem, I see a solution was posted. Going to try it now.

    Thanks!
  6. I played last night and everything was fine. Logged out and quit the program normally. Today when I logged on, many of the world textures have been replaced with solid white. Ground textures, roof textures, rail line textures, and transparent/nonsolid textures (like "lights," plants and phone/power lines) are all effected. Probably about a third of the environment textures. I've tried quitting the game and restarting. I've verified files from the startup screen.

I have a couple screen shots that I can post/send if they'll help.

    Help?
  7. Thusfar none of the fixes mentioned here work for me. This is not a strictly-EU problem, as I'm in the US. Running Windows XP. I'd go through the pain of trashing and redownloading the entire thing if I believed it would solve the problem, but I'm getting no indication that it will. Furthermore, since the updater itself is now inoperable, it seems to me that NCsoft is not going to be able to fix anything from their end.

I've gotta tell you, with the weekend upon us, this is pretty aggravating.
