Even with bypassing the game crashes whilst zoning into the game for me.

I simply renamed it from cohupdater.EU.exe to cohupdater.exe, ran it, quit then renamed it back to cohupdater.EU.exe. Then it had to verify the files.

wish i read this before going on an add and remove programs rampage!!!just dowloading it again now

i also went on a bit of a rampage,but did manage to get the updater working somehow,unfortunatly i have been presented with another problem,my login details wont work ,says username or p/w is incorrect,anyone else havin that

Is it possible you've now set up the US updater?

It won't work for me either. Not tried trying to get straight ingame as I think that'll (eventually) cause more problems than it's worth. Tried to delete the .prv file etc. as above but no joy.
Anyone got any other solutions?

On the title page does the ratings say T or 16? If it's the former it's US, if it's the latter it's EU.

Hopefully though, it's just a temporary server problem from everybody updating today, and it might work just fine tomorrow.

Is there a way of getting the updater to work for the EU please? I've tried all this and NOTHING is working.
Edit: For EU peoples this should work..
1. Go into the folder where CoH is, for example c:\program files\city of heroes
2. Delete the .prv file in there as per instructed by TheOcho
3. Rename the cohupdater.EU to just cohupdater (if you're in Vista click all the appropriate YES buttons as per normal)
4. Right click and run as Admin if in Vista, or just double click cohupdater
5. When it asks where to put the files (as it's now wanting to install the US version) just say NO! and Cancel.. quit out of the Updater.
6. Go back into the program folder and rename the file back to cohupdater.EU and run it again.
Hopefully that should work!

Any updates on fixes? I've tried the redname idea, as well as several others and i'm still stuck.
I removed the EU form the Cohupdater.exe ran it, quit and then put it back in and it loaded straight away!
