Or it could be the fix for the problem where no missions will load on test.

Who would that be? Because from what I can see, this is the easiest to get into "closed" beta that they've ever done. Hell you'd almost have to work at it to NOT be invited. Amirite?

Wouldn't that be the last issue's Beta though? The one in which the only 'closed' part of it was that you had to have access to City of Heroes/Villains?

GR is supposed to be like this:

Beta waves:

* Friends & Family
* Hero Con attendees
* 5 year veterans
* Loyalty Program participants
* People who pre-order Going Rogue

Both the Television and Doctor Aeon have promised us new shinies 'before Going Rogue'. Curiously, the deadline for their feud is Monday February 8th.

You used to be able to get as far as 'Enter Paragon City / The Rogue Isles' but they changed that.

However... if we were to have a smallish Issue 17 that brought us some new content plus Ultra Mode, it might not even need a Closed Beta. I know, I'm being ultra-optimistic, but still...

Well thats what im thinking too. A smallish issue straight into open beta would please us all until GR

The Friends and Family are ALWAYS the first wave, usually the "Alpha" testers. And it was told to Hero Con attendees that they would be automatically added into the beta. It might be somewhere in the unofficial Hero Con videos.

GR is being tested on a separate server - the normal Training Room will remain available to everyone as usual during the closed beta period

No! It won't be GR. It will be a test of the Ultra-mode or new story content. Either to be released as i17 entitled "What Players Want"

It will include no costume parts nor will it have any new power customization options.
It will, however, include special appearances of Dr. Aeon and Television in cut-scenes.
