You said in another thread that RoA has no target cap. Are you basing this on City of Data?

The City of Data page tends to be confusing about how it describes powers, but if you look closely, it has a link to "summons static object" for these powers which describes the psuedo-pet effects...and both of them (under the damage-inflicting part of the "static object" listing) say: Max targets hit: 16.

I'm pretty confident these powers do both have a target cap of 16.

Heh. It is quite fun. I finally picked this up on my AR/EM Blaster, and I love using it. The area of effect and size of the explosion just makes it too fun.

Hmmm, finally got Thunderous Blast for my Elec/Elec Blaster, 1.21 Gigawatts. It's quite fun to see that build-up of electricity, and then see the mobs writhe before falling over. Heh.

im basing this on experience, i have a ice blast corr and ive used the nuke on a mob of like 25 enemies and they all were being hit by i because the were all dying at the same time.

ive also used the ran of arrows on much large mobs than 16 enemies.

even more evidence for this is when you look in the powers detailed info it just says "targeted AoE" and doesnt list a max number of enemies in ()

Fun:
Seismic Smash - SMASH!!!!!
Confuse powers - So much fun to watch them all kill each other
Arctic Air - As a subset of the previous, it's just fun to stand in the middle of a big group of foes, and watch them alternately run around like really really slow headless chickens or attack each other. Pity about the end cost....
Ice Slick etc. - Flop, flop, flop....
Lightning Rod - Even if it did nothing, it'd still get a mention, as it looks awesome. Fortunately, it does a hell of a lot more than nothing.
Ninja Run - Saves a travel power, and looks damn good? Yes please.
Full Auto - MOAR DAKKA!
Propel - Death by forklift (albeit several minutes after they'd died anyway, but still...)
Fearsome Stare - COWER BEFORE ME!!!!
The entire Dual Blade set - Just looks so cool
Headsplitter - Nothing fancy, just pure brutality

Not fun:
Single target buffs, in particular SB - Why? Really Devs, why? There is nothing remotely fun about using these abilities. Make them group wide or 30+ min duration (if need be, make it so they only last only as long as the caster is in the group or somesuch). Fortitude etc aren't too bad, but buffing 7 or 14 times every few minutes is tedious as hell.
Gale - Mainly cos most players who have it don't understand it, making things decidedly unfun for their teammates. Plus, it's pretty redundant in Storm. And most storms *have* to take it.
Actually that leads on to:
Any crappy tier one secondary power - Forcing us to take powers we don't want is bad, mkay? At least let us pick from the first two.
Black Hole - *sigh* Actually, it could be really useful with one small change IMO - make it a toggle. But stopping us killing a whole group for 30 secs is bad.

(As for the RoA target thing, are you sure it's not different "ticks" of damage hitting different targets? - ie Targets 1-15 get hit by tick one, 16-30 get hit by tick two etc)

In terms of what Rain of Arrows hits, it's two pulses of damage to whatever is in the patch, slightly spread out over time (maybe a second or two), so you want to make sure you place it right. I was under the impression that it has a target cap, as I haven't heard of any power being free of that requirement. I suppose that the first pulse could hit up to 16 or whatever, and then the second pulse pick other targets, but I'm not sure. I haven't ever investigated that much. Luminara should chime in... knows more about Archery than is probably healthy, that one. Heh.

No matter what, RoA is great fun to watch and use. Feels so appropos when I use it on an Imperious TF.

Basically the entire Gravity set. I have this glorious vision of a full team composed of nothing but high-level Gravity doms/trollers. I'm imagining the chaos, and it is glorious.

This, I would love to see also. If there was such a super team, I'd be loving every moment of it

Nothing against Grav but...i think a full team of these guys would be a bit on the tame side. True...there would be lots of random objects being Propelled around...which would be it's own brand of awesome. ...Maybe some wormholey goodness tossed in.

But for true chaos...a full team of high level plant dommies that have taken Mako as a patron. 8 carrion creepers...8 seeds of confusion...8 WATERSPOUTS! Now THAT'S chaos!!

The only thing that would top that would be a full team of Stormies....or a full team of Plant/Storm controllers!!!! OMG this MUST be done!!!

You'd need at least one Grav/Storm to use Hurricane to zamboni away all the trash cluttering the screen.

man, i must have Storm oin the brain today. Maybe I should play my neglected Earth/Storm troller tonight...

I made a MA arc that involves cleaning up Grandville Beach... but all of the allies are grav/ trollers with propel as the only attack... by the time you finish the mission it looks like a warzone on that beach. It's pretty cool.

And a full team of grav/storm trollers could take on anything

Anyone have a screenshot of a team of masterminds all running gang war?

No, because trying that makes your video card jump out of your computer and slap you.

Also, with 8 Gang Wars running, it is not longer a video card. It is a glorified Viewmaster.

I think wormhole for me has some serious comedy potential. Try finding a hiding spot in PVP zone and then wormhole a group of badies on another players head. All though it has no practical purpose as the badies will be stunned, the idea itself to me is very funny. Water Spout it pretty cool also. Another one of my favorites is dropping singy in the middle of a tightly packed mob. Counter productive, yes, but also funny.

RoA has three hit checks. One when it spawns, one 0.4s after it spawns and a third 0.8s after it spawns. It despawns at 1s, before it could make a fourth check. Each hit check is separate from the others, and every enemy in the AoE is checked independently. With a 16 target limit, that means it checks 48 times, and even at the accuracy cap, it's going to miss some of those.

Some players do only see two hits from RoA. This is caused by one of two things-- lack of proper slotting for Accuracy (it doesn't actually have an Accuracy bonus, it's 1.0, so it needs to be slotted for Accuracy or you need to have ToHit buffs active when you use it); or mistimed server-client communication (which can, essentially, cause the pet to despawn early, before it makes that third hit check). But by design, it has three hit checks per enemy.

RoA can target up to 16 foes at a time, for each check, so if you do happen to have critters wandering in and out in that 0.8s period, the power does "forget" the old targets and check the new ones. If you have more than 16 in the AoE, then targets are checked randomly, to the best of my knowledge.

Most Fun:
Everything in Storm Summoning except for

Least Fun:
Gale-a mob positioning tool that gets supplanted by a better one later on in the same set. Super.
O2 Boost-blah.

Win
KD and Hold effects in Melee powers
Dragons Tail and Knock Out Blow are awesome

Fail
KB and Stun effects in Melee powers unless I can keep them stationary(Web Grenade, Mu Fences) cause I really hate having to chase the enemy I'm hitting.

Most Fun:

Lightning Rod/Shield Charge: BOOM!
Fulcrum Shift: And now I AND THE WHOLE CREW are about to kick your tail.
Transference: When you need that quick shot in the arm.
Siphon Life: Drains are typically undercosted, even moreso with the buffage.
Rise to the Challenge: A power worthy of its name.

Least Fun:

Shadow Punch: A quick jab outdone by almost every way by Smite. Boo.
Temperature Protection: Still not worth taking.
Speed Boost: Great buff that does not last long enough.
Increase Density: Even worse than Speed Boost.
Energy Blasts: Until we get the BIG RED BALL, I will always feel like this set is not living up to its full potential.

11 months of all-nighters, messy feeding sessions, bath fighting and realizing just how good my son's lungs work, and I am still convinced he is the crowning accomplishment in my life. What in the blue HFIL is wrong with me?

The goal is to knock a minion through the "goal," the steps leading up to Miss Liberty where the two police drones are. A perfect shot and you can slam an enemy at hundreds of miles an hour straight past the drones. Personal best score: shooting a level 1 Hellion up the slope, over Miss Liberty's head, between Atlas' legs, and skating into a group of heroes assembling for a costume contest.

Ninja Run is probably number 2 for me.

Least fun: Is there a least fun? Maybe Entangling <Yawn> Arrow.

I think I'm actually going to make a FF/* Defender or */FF Controller JUST because of that post.
